In my dream, I rode him.

Squatting on my toes bouncing up-and-down while he helped guide me by my hips. My fingers dug into his chest, leaving red crescent nail indents against the skin.

I used him for leverage, propping myself up to allow space to drop over him. The small of my back arched in waves as I slid him in and out of me.

I moaned. My dark hair cascaded around my shoulders, partially obscuring my breasts. I tossed it back, curving my spine upwards. The angle sent him into spasms.

The look on his face was a grimace, almost painful looking. He held a deep concentration for the feel of me while I sucked him further into my core.

My toes curled against the ground as I drove him deeper and deeper. He lay beneath me in pure ecstasy while I took the power from him.

A grunt of pleasure escaped his mouth followed by the word fuck, making me move faster above him.

Kisses trailed the back of my shoulder, moving up to the soft skin beneath my ear. My riding slowed as he sucked on my neck and wrapped his hand around to grope at my breast.

His other hand twisted around my stomach, tickling the skin as it lowered to my clit. I turned my head to kiss him as he rubbed at me. He tasted sweet, like honey. His fingers warm and wet where they touched me.

Bouncing. Rubbing.

High pitched whines fell from me as I became closer. Grayson was close too, pulling my hips down harder on him. Jax’s chest was at my back, and I reached a hand behind me to stroke him.

I craved them as they fulfilled my every desire. Their bodies caressed me, pleasured me, became apart of me.

The sensations were unbearable. The sounds they made as they joined with me made me twitch with bliss. Every movement was warm and electric and...

My eyes fluttered open.

Jax’s chest moved with each breath beneath my cheek. He was fast asleep, oblivious to what he was doing in my dreams. Why were my dreams always so...wet?

I rolled myself away from his warmth and sat up against the log. Movement caught my attention and I gasped as I saw Grayson sitting across from me by the fire.

He was carving into a stick, the blade curling the bark from its branch. His hands were busy but his eyes were glued to me, a dubiously dark smile across his face.

"Sleep well?" He asked.

My cheeks burned. Had he been reading me in my sleep? The last time he haunted my dreams in such a way, he acted the same way. The knowing look and snarky attitude. But could he tell that Jax was accompanying him in this one?

I shuddered, goosebumps running down my legs with the memory of their hands on me. His smirk widened as he turned his attention to his work.

"You’re reading my thoughts aren’t you?"

"Thoughts?" He said, "no."

"Okay," I snapped. "Then my emotions or whatever. How do I stop it?"

His focus flicked up to me again. The blue in his eyes were piercing with the early morning sun shining down on them. He didn’t answer and his grin was falling.

"Jax told me I could block it but had to be taught. So, how do I do it?" I demanded.

His brows scrunched and his gaze fell away. He felt...dissapointed? It was odd knowing how he felt, like a passing thought or an assumption, only it was real.

He didn’t want to tell me, I realized. He wanted to intrude my mind without resistance. To invade my privacy and selfishly take what wasn’t his.

"Dominic can see into my body as well." My voice turned darker, like a warning. "I need to know."

He studied me for a moment, deciding. Leaning back, he gestured me to come to him. I looked at Jax who was still fast asleep, head rolled back and mouth slightly open.

I inched away as to not wake him and moved to Grayson’s side. Sitting next to him, our thighs touched, sending an excited thrum through me.

He grabbed my hand with too much force, his natural roughness catching me off guard from the version of him I had held in my mind the last few weeks.

He placed my hand against my chest, his hand resting over mine.

"Feel your heart?" His sounded gravely and coarse, like his voice wasn’t used to speaking out loud. Especially with sensitivity.

"Let it grow. The sound. The feeling. Let it become the loudest thing you hear."

My heart was racing with his touch on my chest. The thumping pounded hard and quick against my palm.

"Concentrate," he scolded.

I closed my eyes, letting my heart rate slow while it grew louder in my ears.

"Now build a wall."

I tiltes my head, the question of how painted on my lips.

"Empty your mind of all thought. All feeling," he continued.

I could slowly start to feel the thumping of my heart in every part of me now. The tips of my fingers swelling with each beat. The skin of my neck ticking under the veins. I could even feel it pulsating...down there, giving me a quick rush.

"I said all feeling," he chided.

I let go of the sensation. Then let go of all other feelings, letting the sound of my heart beat take over.

"Listen for the tells," his voice low as a whisper.

An awareness of something started to emerge. A ghost of a feeling. It was like I had been blindfolded in a room alone, then someone sneaked in. I didn’t see that they were there but could feel their presence with me.

I tried pushing him out, forcing him out of the room inside my mind. His hand on my chest pressed a little harder, like he knew what I was doing and was telling me it wouldn’t work. He was here to stay.

Build a wall, he had told me. If he wouldn’t leave the room then I could separate us with my own will. Inch by inch I closed myself off. My concentration deepened as I split us in two, stripping his tendrils from my inner body.

A cool, empty feeling replaced where his influence had been, leaving me alone with my own emotions. It was working, I was blocking him.

I could feel the wall, feel completely isolated within myself. The heartbeat fed the blockade like an alien mass. It was loud in my ears and all-consuming.

The warm, soft flesh of Grayson’s lips brushed against mine. My wall crumbled to the floor and his presence snapped back into place. He loomed in the corner of my mind, a dark shadow watching my every move while his very real lips pressed against mine.

My eyes slowly drifted open to see him biting his lower lip as he pulled away. A possessive smile stretched over his teeth. He could teach me control, and take it away.

Jax stirred, taking away the moment between us. I scooted away from Grayson’s side a little. Jax stretched out and yawned at the open sky.

"Good morning, you two. Looks like we survived the night."

My cheeks reddened and I stared at my feet as I thought of my dream again. Grayson picked up his stick and knife, returning to his task with his usual snarky and knowing smile.

"What did I miss?" He asked, staring me down with excited curiosity.

"Nothing." I quipped.

"Shall we find some breakfast?" I asked, wanting to retreat from the situation.

"Maybe something other than just meat?"

Jax’s teeth flashed and he jumped to his feet. I didn’t understand how he could wake with such energy but pulled myself to my feet and hurried towards him to escape Grayson’s pull.

Our exit didn’t distance Grayson’s presence in my mind, however. Now that I knew what he felt like, I could tell he was always there. He watched my every emotion with a quiet curiosity.

I tried pulling the wall back up as Jax and I walked through the trails but couldn’t concentrate with Jax’s commentary on different plant species.

Instead, I turned my entire attention to Jax. Being present with him made my heart relax. We gathered flowers that he said would work great in a salad. His superior werewolf senses brought us to an apple tree where we picked the small green and sour fruit.

Despite our situation, Jax seemed happy. His personality always seemed to surprise me. He left his pack to travel solo with me to the brooding ass that was Grayson, yet he acted completely unbothered.

We continued our foraging to a blueberry bush where I tossed the small round berries into the air, giggling as Jax caught them in his mouth.

We hadn’t traveled far from Grayson’s camp, but I felt his constant occupancy in my mind as he kept a close eye on me.

I became familiar with the feeling. Memorizing how he felt while reading me. I watched him watching me until his shadow split in two.

Another form seemed to step out from behind him in my thoughts and I tilted my head in curiosity.

Jax paused at the look on my face. I dropped my hands and closed my eyes, trying to understand what I was feeling in my own psyche.

It was hard to decipher. The presence had multiplied but they felt so similar. I looked within me, letting my heartbeat roar through my veins.

I peered into the darkness, while black eyes stared back, intruding the corner of my mind.
