Chapter 972: Easier Target

Jeremy Night spends time recovering. But the corrupted beasts’ activities have begun to increase. He has already found a couple of beasts.
They were far away from him. But they could smell his scent from a couple of hundred metres. His mission was to eliminate the worm beasts.
He didn’t want to waste time fighting other beasts. He then made the return journey.
He knows that the worm beasts are targeting the beast tamers under the command of the Tier-9 Worm King.
So it was logical that the worm beasts would be near the base. He used his Feathered Steps to increase his speed.
He left the barren area in 30 minutes and disappeared into the dense woods. He used his eye power on the way.
He avoided other Corrupted beasts. At the same time, he was looking for an open space. He wanted to use himself as bait.
If he used himself as bait, then he was sure the worm beasts would find him. He is a Tier-3 Beast Tamer according to the beasts’ senses.
That’s how he attracted the attacks of the two Tier-6 Worm Beasts in the wilderness. This time, he wants to play smart. He won’t go into the deeper areas and draw the attention of the higher-tier beasts.
He will find a middle ground. If any crisis appears, he will prioritize his life. He goes through the dense vegetation.
He cuts across the forest vines and roots. By going through the self-created path, he soon comes across open land. The space was enough for higher-tier beasts to rest.
Jeremy then comes to the middle of the empty land. He simply sits on a rock. There are no other beasts in the surroundings.
The place was quiet. Only the sounds of trees moving and other small noises were heard.
Jeremy Night decided to be patient. He used his second eye power to confirm that there were no other beasts here.
He didn’t want to waste time. He used the breathing method. As he practised the inner healing method, the natural energy in the surroundings entered his body.
He guided the energy as per the method. As the natural energy flowed through the body, his superficial injuries began to heal.
Time passed
The worm beasts are engaging in fights against the Beast Tamers in other parts of the wilderness.
The senior students are not only coming across the worm beasts, they are also being attacked by other Corrupted beasts in the wilderness here. They didn’t like the Human Beast Tamers’ presence.
On the other hand, the elders are monitoring the situation as well. If any Tier-8 Worm Beasts and other higher-tier beasts appear, they will have to step up.
The wilderness is still largely unknown. No one knows when Tier-8 Beasts will appear.
During the night, Jeremy Night was still sitting on the same rock. He didn’t know whether the beast would appear or not.
He still decided to wait here. It didn’t take long for his efforts to become fruitful. He finally felt the tremor again.
As time passes, the strength of the tremor is increasing. His mouth curves into an arc. Through his eye power, he sees that something underground is coming towards him.
He knows that it’s a worm beast. But he was happy for another reason as well, because the size of the beast appeared to be smaller than the Tier-6 Beast.
The beast could very well be a Tier-5 Beast. He wanted to take the corpse of the Tier-5 Beast back. If anyone questions his contributions, he can provide them with proof.
So far, no one has made it a rule to bring the corpses back with them. But he is doing it for his own preparation.

The ground exploded a hundred metres before him. The ground expanded, and a massive head appeared above the surface.
Half of the worm beast’s body appeared above the ground.
Jeremy Night smiled and unsheathed his blade. He added the starlight threads to the blade’s edge. He didn’t want to hold back.
He is going to use his full strength against the beast.
Boom!
The worm beast opened its mouth wide. Its circular mouth has more than one layer of sharp teeth. It can grind anything through it.
The beast’s body moved forward, causing shockwaves to spread across the area.
Jeremy Night waited for the beast to get near. He is already using his eye power. Every minute detail of the beast’s body is reaching his brain, including the details of the pores on the slippery worm beast.
The pores are releasing a slippery liquid that helps with defense as well as recovery.
Slash!
The worm beast drew closer. Next, the pressure from the Tier-5 Beast hit his body as well. But he was able to withstand the pressure.
"Explosive Steps!"
He suddenly used the movement method. The burst of energy propelled his body forward. He moved to the flank and attacked the body with his blade.
Pfff!
The blade sliced through the flesh like butter. The starlight power destroys the slippery liquid. It didn’t stop anywhere.
In the blink of an eye, he almost reached the end of the body, which was less than 15 metres long.

A long horizontal line appeared. The next second, blood flowed out from the wound. It splattered across the ground like torrential rain.
The worm beast made a weird noise of pain. That single blade attack reduced its strength by half.
Jeremy Night didn’t stop there. He knows what to do next. He used the same movement method to reach the other side. He attacked the beast with his blade again.

The blade cuts through the body. He draws a similar long horizontal line. The blade cuts across the skin like tofu.
Similarly, a rain of blood appeared on this side of the flank. The worm beast stopped moving. It is bleeding on both sides of its body.
Jeremy Night stood there. He used his second eye power to check its vitality. He sees that the beast is weakening faster. He waited for the worm beast to bleed to death.
