Chapter 396 - 289: River of Souls, Wukong Ecosystem
"Ding! The Eco Tree has been planted successfully. Influenced by Triple Ecological Technology, the current ecosystem is now active in the Wukong Dojo and will evolve independently."
"Ding! The territory’s ecological network has been established. Influenced by Triple Ecological Technology, it is integrating into the main network!"
"Ding! You may now name the current Eco Tree and the territory’s ecosystem. Once named, the Territory Ecosystem Panel will be updated!"
Wang Yi sized up the ten-meter-tall Eco Tree. "I’ll call this Eco Tree the Wukong Tree! And this ecosystem, the Wukong Ecosystem."
After he named them, the Territory Ecosystem Panel updated and automatically popped up before him.

Wang Yi took a closer look at the Wukong Tree’s Dominator Ability, [Spiritual Nourishment]. It only affected the Wukong Tree itself, allowing it to absorb and store spiritual energy within its ecosystem.
This spiritual energy was a unique type of power that could help one calm their mind and spirit, sharpen their thoughts, and nourish their soul. It was immensely beneficial to all living things!
Wang Yi plucked a tender, willow-like leaf from the Wukong Tree. Just sniffing it made him feel invigorated.
’Spiritual Nourishment... not bad at all,’ Wang Yi mused. ’With this ability, the Wukong Tree could become an enlightenment tree. I’ll collect its leaves and call it enlightenment tea!’
As Wang Yi mused to himself, he took out the [Construction Drawings for the River of Souls] and used them.
The River of Souls was a Seven-Color Quality conceptual structure. Wang Yi built it in the Wukong Dojo, but the river was anything but ordinary. It unexpectedly connected the surface territory and the Battle Sacred Land, forming three distinct rivers.
The first River of Souls was on the surface territory. It began at White Bone Mountain as an underground river, winding for hundreds of miles to link up with the Flower Fruit Tree before vanishing at Taoyuan Mountain.
The second River of Souls was in the Battle Sacred Land. It formed a pitch-black pool at the foot of Five Elements Mountain beside the Battle Tree, then continued as an underground river for hundreds of miles.
The third River of Souls was in the Wukong Dojo. No longer an underground river, it automatically carved its own path, forming a great river over a hundred feet wide and hundreds of miles long.
Within this great river, the ink-black water flowed without end, forming a loop that began and ended at the Wukong Tree.
The emergence of the River of Souls also initiated a life cycle within the territory. When residents died, their souls were captured by the ecosystem and sent into the River of Souls, making it easier for them to be reborn or reincarnated.
In a sense, the River of Souls was a living, self-operating Soul Altar that affected all life in the territory. Even the souls of non-residents who fell within its borders would be captured by the River of Souls!
As the lord of the territory, Wang Yi could also manage the River of Souls, meaning he could directly pluck souls from its waters to help them be reborn or have them reincarnated.
In a way, the River of Souls made his residents effectively immortal.
Furthermore, the appearance of the three rivers greatly bolstered the foundation of the Triple Ecosystem. The Flower and Fruit Ecosystem’s evolution progress jumped to 98%, the Battle Ecosystem’s to 92%, and the Wukong Ecosystem’s to 66%!
’This River of Souls is truly extraordinary,’ Wang Yi thought. ’But birth, aging, sickness, and death are the natural order of the Mortal Realm. Even though I can interfere, I shouldn’t—at least not under normal circumstances. It’s best to leave it be. I’ll keep the River of Souls a secret for now, like a hidden structure.’
Wang Yi silently made his decision.
A moment later, Wang Yi hatched the [Rebirth Chaos Egg].
When the Chaos Egg shattered, a chubby little boy wearing a small vest and shorts emerged. He had a horn on his forehead, wings on his back, and the ability to fly.
This was the brand-new life form that was once Yama. Currently nameless, he immediately knelt before Wang Yi upon appearing.
’Huh, he reincarnated as a chubby kid!’
Wang Yi was curious. He could see the little boy’s information: he was Wang Yi’s "first disciple," but he currently had no skills. His Physique, however, was extraordinary, possessing a growth potential that far surpassed any mortal’s.
The little boy kowtowed three times and began to speak. "Yoo ah mass-tur, ah am gawd, yoo ah gawd-fah-zer!"
’What is this gibberish!’
Wang Yi frowned. The boy’s words sounded a bit like the Ancient Divine Language, but they definitely weren’t. He continued to babble on, and Wang Yi couldn’t understand a thing. It almost sounded like he was being insulted.
"Alright, that’s enough babbling. I’ll give you a name. From now on, you’ll be called Yama. First, you’re going to Eggshell Academy!"
Wang Yi brought Yama to Huaguo Mountain and personally escorted him into Eggshell Academy.
Yama was very lively and loved to talk, chattering away endlessly, but no one could understand a word he said.
After settling in his first disciple, Wang Yi traveled to Yamero Star to replenish his Chaos Energy.
The next morning, just as Wang Yi was about to return to his territory, Li Longyu pulled him by the arm. A faint blush on her cheeks, she said, "My love, I think... I’m pregnant again?"
"Huh? Again?"
Wang Yi was taken aback for a moment before he understood what she meant. He sighed to himself, ’As expected of a woman with Extraordinary Fertility. I wonder how many children she’ll give me this time.’
"My love, I want to get stronger," Li Longyu said. "Right now, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue, and Purple are all stronger than me. Just give me any class change, I don’t care which!"
Wang Yi shook his head. "Changing classes is no small matter. Be patient. The right opportunity will present itself."
With that, Wang Yi took out the Abyss Gazer Battle Armor and gave it to Li Longyu, at least giving her some means to protect herself.
Half a day later, Wang Yi returned to Huaguo Mountain. He flipped through the latest issue of the Mysterious Newspaper; the front-page headline was still about Mad God Canyon.
According to the newspaper, a large number of Chaos Blind Boxes were about to appear inside the Mad Secret Realm.
This news unsettled Wang Yi.
’A large number of blind boxes are about to appear? If so, it’s worth the risk. It seems a trip to the Mad Secret Realm is in order!’
Having made up his mind, Wang Yi made some brief preparations and went to the dilapidated High-Dimensional Divine Hall in his territory.
Although this Divine Hall was dilapidated and not fully functional, it could thankfully still be used to perform a True Body Descent into the Mad Secret Realm.
Inside the High-Dimensional Divine Hall, Wang Yi first activated his "Traveler" account, which netted him three free experience coupons. He then used a True Body Descent Experience Coupon.
A white light flashed, and Wang Yi found himself standing before a massive stone stele.
The stele was covered in complex patterns that seemed to form a profound array, and on it were many characters written in the Ancient Divine Language.
His Insight Divine Techniques informed Wang Yi that the stele was the entrance to the Mad Secret Realm. Normally, an Explorer would have to pass through the stele to enter.
However, Wang Yi had already entered the Mad Secret Realm. He now stood on a shattered plaza, but he wasn’t alone. There were two other Players nearby.
As Wang Yi’s gaze swept over the two Players, he felt a sudden chill.
One of them had long, flowing black hair and wore black armor. A single horn protruded from his brow, and he had the appearance of a youth. But under Wang Yi’s Insight Divine Techniques, this person was revealed to be a Level 401 Flood Dragon Venerable named Yin Kui!
The second was a red-haired man at Level 133—the Crimson Witch, Tie Suifeng!
