Chapter 422 - 200: Looks Like This Guy Really Is the Real Deal
It was as if all the happiness she’d missed out on with her ex-boyfriend was being experienced all at once with Xu Yun.
Since this was a clubhouse, a place of business, there were naturally many other guests besides Xu Yun’s group, most of whom had been referred.
So, they would occasionally run into other visitors along the way.
The three women were all quite attractive to begin with. Dressed in short skirts and stockings that accentuated their impressive figures, they turned many heads as they walked along the winding forest path.
Having seen most of the surrounding area, Wang Yang and the others headed back to the recreational area in front of the clubhouse where people could relax and fish.
There, they saw Xu Yun sitting next to Lin Wanzhou, the two of them chatting.
"President Xu, what are you doing here?"
Cheng Yiran walked up and said, "We’ve been looking all over for you. Turns out you came back a while ago."
"What, were you afraid I’d run off?"
Xu Yun chuckled. "Don’t worry. The deed is done. I’ll be sure to pay you before I leave."
"We’re not just in it for the money."
"Then I won’t pay."
"No way."
Cheng Yiran immediately protested, "My butt still hurts!"
"I’ll let you hit me back, how about that?"
"..." Cheng Yiran was speechless.
Wang Yang, who was standing to the side, couldn’t afford to be as idle as them. She still had things to arrange.
After all, she was a paid guide, and it was her job to make sure everything was arranged in advance.
Although the clubhouse had a perfectly good buffet for 500 yuan per person, Xu Yun wasn’t interested. He had opted for a more high-end, private dinner instead.
After saying a quick word to the group, she headed to the clubhouse restaurant to finalize the menu.
But just as she reached the entrance, she ran into her ex-boyfriend.
"Wang Yang!"
The moment the man saw her, he called out her name and moved to pull her into an intimate hug.
Wang Yang immediately took a step back.
She stared at the man who had appeared out of nowhere and said with displeasure, "Huang Ze, what are you doing here?"
"I came to find you, of course."
Huang Ze said placatingly, "It was all my fault before. I regret it. Please, can you forgive me?"
"There’s no future for us."
Wang Yang said coldly, "I’m working right now. Please don’t bother me."
"Why is it impossible!"
Huang Ze retorted, unable to accept it. "I gave so much for you! I was so good to you! You can’t do this to me."
"Good to me?"
Wang Yang scoffed. "Is your idea of ’good’ lying around the house playing video games all day, not earning a cent, and living off me, while occasionally making a meal or doing some chores?
"Sorry, but I don’t want that kind of ’good’ anymore. I’m tired."
"Don’t give me that, Wang Yang!"
Huang Ze said, "You just look down on me because I can’t make money, because I’m poor."
"That’s right, I do. I’m a money-grubbing woman. So what?"
Wang Yang said mockingly, "Now that you’ve seen my true colors, you can leave. Stop pestering me."
"Heh, you’re just afraid I’ll ruin your good thing, aren’t you?"
Seeing his attempt at reconciliation fail, Huang Ze suddenly sneered. "Which sugar daddy did you come with to the hot springs today? You slut. You’ve got quite a glow on your face. Looks like you had a lot of fun, huh? Must have been great."
Faced with his shamelessness, Wang Yang didn’t hold back either.
She retorted sarcastically, "It was great. What about it? A hell of a lot better than you, anyway. You’re built like an ox, but what else could you do at night besides drool all over me?"
"You bitch! Looks like you’re asking for a beating today!"
His sore spot having been prodded, Huang Ze saw red. Furious, he raised his hand to give her a hard slap.
But just as he was about to strike, a strange man appeared between them.
Xu Yun looked at the man’s raised hand and said, "Hitting a woman isn’t a good look, pal."
"Who are you!"
Huang Ze glanced at Xu Yun, then at Lin Wanzhou beside him, and snapped, "I’m teaching my woman a lesson. What’s it to you? Get lost."
"She’s my friend, so that makes it my business."
Xu Yun turned to Wang Yang. "Is he your husband? Or your boyfriend?"
"Neither."
Wang Yang’s expression was grim. "My ex-boyfriend. We already broke up, but he keeps harassing me."
"Oh, is that so."
Xu Yun turned back to him. "You hear that, buddy? She already broke up with you. Let’s all be decent about this. Don’t act like some jilted lover."
"I’d advise you to mind your own business."
Huang Ze glared at Xu Yun, threatening, "Before this turns physical and you get hurt."
"Old Lin, he’s all yours."
Xu Yun ignored him completely and turned to Wang Yang and the other two women. "Let’s go. We’re heading inside."
"Oh."
Having never witnessed anything like this, Cheng Yiran and Yan Yi followed close behind Xu Yun, eager to get away.
Wang Yang, however, was a bit worried. "He used to be a boxing coach. Brother Lin..."
"Don’t worry. If he can’t even handle a small thing like this, he’s useless to me."
Xu Yun added, "I’d have to consider replacing him."
Seeing that they were completely ignoring him and walking away, Huang Ze tried to go after them but was blocked by Lin Wanzhou.
As a bodyguard, protecting Xu Yun’s safety was his duty.
Huang Ze growled, "If you don’t move, I won’t be nice."
Lin Wanzhou didn’t answer. He just stood there, staring coldly at his opponent, ready to put him on the ground for good if he dared to advance.
He didn’t care if the man ended up with broken arms or legs.
After all, whether it was paying compensation or finding someone to smooth things over, Xu Yun would be the one to worry about it.
Lin Wanzhou was a veteran who had been on the battlefield and killed people. An amateur like Huang Ze was no match for him. The icy glare alone was enough to send a shiver down his spine.
Huang Ze weighed his options. After hesitating for a few seconds, he actually chickened out.
