He awoke after a dream-filled night.

She was gone, and the lights in the room had never even been turned on.

Perhaps because Anar Guli was a bit shy, Xu Yun didn’t insist, treating the whole thing as if it were just an erotic dream.

The next morning, Xu Yun got up and found the house empty.

Anar Guli had left him a note.

"Mhm, I’ll think about it." In the breakfast shop downstairs from her apartment, Anar Guli happily replied to the message while eating breakfast.

So, at the front desk, he lied and said he was Gao Wenwen’s boyfriend, showed them a photo of the two of them together, and after slipping the clerk a tip, he successfully got the room number.

Taking the elevator, he arrived in front of her hotel room door.

After a moment, the call connected, and a sleepy voice came through. "Hello, who is this?"

"Your close high school classmate."

Hearing Xu Yun’s voice, Gao Wenwen’s sleepiness vanished. She sounded pleasantly surprised. "Why are you calling me so early?"

Xu Yun laughed. "To wake you up."

"Wake me up for what?"

Gao Wenwen glanced at her phone. "It’s just after seven. That’s so early. I want to sleep a little longer."

"Stop sleeping and come open the door for me."

"Open what door?"

Gao Wenwen thought Xu Yun was teasing her and laughed. "What, you didn’t actually find your way to my hotel room door, did you?"

"Yeah, I’m standing right here."

Xu Yun pretended to be annoyed. "People walking by are looking at me like I’m an idiot."

"I don’t believe you! You couldn’t have gotten here this fast even if you took a rocket!"

Gao Wenwen said, "Besides, I never even told you which room I’m staying in."

"You don’t believe me? Then let me knock so you can hear."

As soon as Xu Yun finished speaking, Gao Wenwen heard a knock on her room door.

"Did you hear that?"

Gao Wenwen was speechless.

She couldn’t be bothered with anything else. She rolled out of bed, ran over barefoot, and carefully peeked through the peephole.

He seemed to know she was watching him, because he waved and grinned. "Aren’t you going to open the door?"

After confirming it was Xu Yun, Gao Wenwen moved the chair from behind the door and immediately opened it. She looked at Xu Yun, her face a mask of delighted surprise. "You really came? How did you do it?"

"That’s not important right now."

After Xu Yun entered the room, he locked the door behind him, scooped her up into his arms, and said, "First, let’s take care of business."

"What business?"

"You haven’t forgotten what you said last night, have you?"

At Xu Yun’s reminder, Gao Wenwen remembered the nonsense she had been spouting last night, and her face instantly turned beet red. She struggled and said in a panic, "I was just talking nonsense, put me down."

"Regretting it now? Too late!"

Gao Wenwen said, "I’ll wait for you out here, I promise I won’t run."

Xu Yun grinned. "After we’re finished, I’ll help you wash up."
