The pace was slow!

Unrecognized by anyone on board, Xu Yun grabbed a glass of champagne from a passing waiter’s tray and went over to the railing to admire the night view.

From the hotel, he had looked out at the beauty of Victoria Harbor.

But here on this cruise ship in Victoria Harbor, he had an unobstructed, 360-degree view of the entire nightscape of Xiangjiang’s most prosperous district.

Along the shores of Victoria Harbor, neon and laser lights flickered in what looked like a grand light show, their reflections on the water’s surface a magnificent sight.

The skyscrapers of Central, not far off, were awash in brilliant light. Soaring into the clouds, they seemed to pierce the very night sky, making one feel as if they could stand atop them and pluck the stars from the heavens with their bare hands.

Just as Xu Yun was admiring the nightscape, two sexy women came over and stood near him, sipping red wine and chatting.

Their voices weren’t loud, but they weren’t quiet either.

Mostly because they made no effort to keep their conversation private.

Though they were speaking Cantonese, Xu Yun could still understand some of it.

"Sister Cocoa, I didn’t expect to see you here today!"

"Well, you’re here, so how could I stay away?"

One of the provocatively dressed women asked with a smile, "I heard you went to a private party at some club the day before yesterday. What happened? Didn’t score anything?"

"Ugh, don’t even talk about it."

The other woman replied sullenly, "There was this rich kid having a great time with me on the yacht, and I thought I had it in the bag. But the second we got off the boat, he acted like he didn’t even know me. It’s not like you, Sister Cocoa. You always manage to make a quick buck every time you go out."

"I heard you went out on Eldest Young Master Liu and his crew’s boat last week, and they gave everyone 50,000?"

"Just got lucky."

The woman said with a smile, "It just so happened they were short on girls that day."

"Sister Cocoa, next time an opportunity like that comes up, you have to let me know. Take me with you."

The other woman said, "If I don’t find a rich boyfriend soon, I’ll have to settle for some office drone to support me. Otherwise, I won’t even be able to pay my rent."

"Give me a break. You, with an office worker?"

The woman they called Sister Cocoa couldn’t help but scoff, "Even with the measly salary they work themselves to death for, if they gave us their entire paycheck every month, it still wouldn’t be enough for us to buy one or two nice bags on a whim."

"Then, in a few years when we’re older, we’ll just go back to our hometown and find some honest guy to marry."

"You’ve really got it all figured out, Sister Cocoa."

The woman smiled slyly. "Let’s hope neither of us draws a blank tonight, so we can both come home fully loaded tomorrow."

’Damn, are they trying to pump each other up?’

As Xu Yun listened to their shameless conversation, all he could think was that society’s morals were truly decaying.

"Hey, handsome."

One of the women stepped forward to introduce herself. "My name is Meiqi, but you can call me Qiqi."

"And I’m Coco, her best friend."

Not to be outdone, the other woman quickly introduced herself, adding, "Are you here for the party too?"

"Obviously. Why else would I be on this boat?"

Xu Yun said dismissively, "I’m not sexually interested in either of you. Go find someone else tonight."

The two women were speechless.

After such a blunt rejection, it was too awkward for them to stay any longer, so they had no choice but to turn and leave!

Just then, Xu Yun turned and was surprised to see Zhang Jin on the boat, accompanied by another young man.

Zhang Jin saw Xu Yun at the same time.

Both men clearly froze for a second.

Zhang Jin quickly averted his gaze and followed the other man to the far side of the deck.

’I can’t believe he’s here!’

Xu Yun thought back to the lovey-dovey couple he’d run into at the restaurant that afternoon and couldn’t help but smile.

’Men will be men!’

But a moment later, Zhang Jin reappeared at his side, smiling and initiating the conversation. "Hey, man. Small world. We meet again."

"It certainly is."

Xu Yun chuckled. "Must be fate. But don’t worry, I won’t tell your wife."

"Er, that’s not what I meant."

Zhang Jin said awkwardly, "She knows I’m here."

"Your wife is that understanding?"

"Not really."

Zhang Jin explained, "I’m here tonight with the son of one of our film’s investors. I couldn’t get out of it."
