Chapter 1199 - 1204: Meeting the Real Boss
"Then, you two get on the boat!" Chen Laoqi glanced at Lin Feng, grinning smugly as he spoke.
Lin Feng and Ye Lin didn’t hesitate at all, took a big step, jumped straight onto the boat, and walked into the cabin.
Mr. Nine gave Lin Feng and Ye Lin a faint smile, a pistol in his hand, his face calm but on guard, not the least bit worried that Lin Feng and Ye Lin might suddenly turn on them.
Judging purely from appearances, Lin Feng looked like an ordinary college student, and Ye Lin was dressed no different from a professional hostess in a nightclub—really a pair of fat sheep!
Chen Laoqi and Mr. Nine prided themselves on their seasoned eyes; they didn’t even seriously consider the possibility that Lin Feng and Ye Lin were up to no good, and just started the engine and took them straight toward the mouth of the Qing River.
The small boat wasn’t fast; for a bit over ten kilometers of river, it took almost an hour before Lin Feng finally spotted, on the gradually widening water, a sand carrier that had clearly been modified.
Without the slightest attempt at caution, Chen Laoqi headed straight for that sand carrier with Lin Feng and Ye Lin.
As they got closer and closer, Lin Feng saw a bunch of wooden crates piled on the sand carrier, all covered with sun tarps. They looked a bit shabby; from the outside you couldn’t tell what was inside, but just from the smell, Lin Feng knew there was no way anything good was in those boxes.
He hadn’t expected these guys to have balls this big! Lin Feng frowned slightly, lifted his head to look around, and saw that on the entire stretch of river, aside from the occasional cargo ship running through the night, there didn’t seem to be any coast guard patrols... Right, this counts as an inland riverbank; the coast guard wouldn’t necessarily patrol here! Looked like these guys knew their stuff.
Without hesitation, Chen Laoqi’s boat gave a solid thump as it came right up alongside the big sand carrier.
Four men walked out from inside the sand carrier, each one a burly tough. The short-haired man in the lead swept his eyes over Chen Laoqi, then asked with a very strange look on his face, "Qi, you go out to deliver goods, fine, but how come you brought back two little kids!"
"Ba, these two are big clients, so shut your damn mouth!" Chen Laoqi glared at the short-haired man, then shook his head and said, "Where’s the Boss, take me to see him, I’ve got something to talk to him about!"
"Heh... Qi, you getting senile or what? Just two little brats, and you call them big clients!" The short-haired man looked Lin Feng and Ye Lin up and down with a grin, then laughed, "But this chick does look pretty tasty. Wonder if she’s interested in coming to bed with your Grandpa Ba to talk about life, huh?!"
Chen Laoqi shot the short-haired man a glare and said in a deep voice, "Ba, I’m warning you, don’t act on your own!"
In fact, Chen Laoqi himself was quite interested in Ye Lin, but this wasn’t something to rush. He had to bring it up with the Boss first and wait for the Boss to decide... if the Boss decided to tie these two kids down, then things would be easy.
"Heh heh..." The short-haired man who called himself Grandpa Ba only chuckled, clearly not taking Chen Laoqi’s warning seriously at all.
Soon, Lin Feng and Ye Lin followed behind Chen Laoqi into the refitted main cabin of the large boat, and then Lin Feng suddenly saw a blond, blue-eyed foreigner sitting in a big chair, carefully fiddling with a rifle.
Lin Feng frowned slightly. Turned out the piece in the foreigner’s hands was the famous AUG assault rifle. Judging from the finish and the material, it didn’t look like a knockoff; very likely the real deal, original import!
"Boss!" After greeting the foreigner softly, Chen Laoqi pointed at Lin Feng and Ye Lin behind him and said in a low voice, "These two are very capable buyers. They want to talk a big business deal with you!"
The foreigner looked to be in his early thirties, his blond hair naturally a bit curly, falling over the back of his head in a casual way. Hearing Chen Laoqi, he raised his head slightly and glanced at Lin Feng. His gaze skimmed right past him and then lingered on Ye Lin for several seconds, a smug smile appearing on his handsome face.
"Qi, you did very well on this. You can go down; I’ll talk to these two personally."
Unexpectedly, the foreigner’s Chinese was excellent—standard pronunciation, and basically no accent at all.
Lin Feng was taken aback for a moment, then immediately concluded in his heart that the man was probably mixed-blood. One of his parents had to be Chinese; otherwise there was no way his Chinese would be as smooth as a native’s... Then Lin Feng suddenly understood: this guy was most likely using his mixed-blood identity to run this kind of drug-dealing business. Only someone who both understood how the Chinese police operated and had the ability to source product overseas could build a business this big like he had.
"Hello, you two, my name is Mini, very glad to meet you. How should I address you?" The foreigner smiled at Lin Feng and asked in fluent Chinese.
"Just call me Lin Feng." Lin Feng smiled slightly, pointed at Ye Lin by his side, and said evenly, "This is my girlfriend. I don’t think Mr. Mini, you should know her name..."
"Oh? Why is that?" Mini paused slightly, looking at Lin Feng with some puzzlement.
"Because your charm is way too strong. I’m afraid that if you learned my girlfriend’s name, she’d quickly dump me and throw herself into your arms..." Lin Feng gave a dry chuckle, deliberately acting petty as he spoke, his hand still wrapped lightly around Ye Lin’s slender waist, not letting go.
Ye Lin shot Lin Feng a flirtatious glance, then pretended to be shy and buried her head against Lin Feng’s shoulder.
Mini stuck his thumb up at Lin Feng in praise. "Mr. Lin really has a way with words. I’m very happy to make friends with you..."
Lin Feng chuckled. "Nothing special... We did come this time with a big deal we want to discuss with Mr. Mini."
"What kind of big deal?" Mini smiled faintly, put the piece in his hands back into the wooden case on the table, then gestured for Lin Feng to sit as he smiled. "Mr. Lin can speak frankly."
Lin Feng glanced at Ye Lin, then said calmly to Mini, "Here’s the situation: we need to bring in a batch of goods recently, and the quantity’s a bit large... I heard from Chen Laoqi that only you, Mr. Mini, have a large enough supply, so we came to you..."
"A bit large?" Mini gave Lin Feng a slightly surprised look. "So it’s more than what Chen Laoqi has the authority to decide? How large?"
Lin Feng gave a faint smile, thinking to himself, large enough to cost you your life!
But on the surface he stayed dead serious. "Just ten crates, that’s all. I don’t know if you, Mr. Mini, have that much in stock..."
"Ten crates?!" Mini’s expression changed; he stared at Lin Feng in disbelief. "You’re serious?!"
Lin Feng nodded with absolute certainty...
Mini’s hand couldn’t help reaching toward the long wooden case in front of him... Hearing that number, his first reaction was that Lin Feng was a huge fat lamb waiting to be slaughtered!
However... Mini soon remembered that Lin Feng didn’t have any cash on him right now, and only then did he pull his hand back somewhat awkwardly.
