Ten minutes later, two police officers from the police station arrived, one fat and one thin, both in their thirties, wearing uniforms. Led over by hotel personnel, naturally speaking no good words during this time, the two officers, after reaching upstairs, glanced around, seeing a few people lying on the ground groaning, they groaned louder upon seeing the police coming.

"Who called the police?" the fat officer looked around and had already figured it out, then asked loudly.

"I did," Li Yifei replied, his face calm. Based on proximity, these two officers were likely from a nearby police station, so they might have connections with this hotel. Hmm, it wasn’t that Li Yifei was looking at people with prejudiced glasses. It had almost become a norm, but since these two didn’t rush in with accusations but followed the procedure, Li Yifei felt no discomfort.

If these two had come in throwing accusations, Li Yifei might have kicked them down already, wondering when someone would come that wasn’t biased, whenever that happened, Li Yifei would stop.

"You say someone forcibly attempted to abduct someone, and you stopped them? It’s these people on the ground?" the thin officer walked to Li Yifei’s side, while the fat officer asked.

Li Yifei nodded and said, "Yes, these two are the abductors, trying to take the girl away. I stepped in to stop them. I suspect the hotel is working with them!"

"These details we’ll discuss at the police station. If it’s truly as you say, we’ll investigate thoroughly, but you hitting people, this also needs to be investigated," the fat officer said. Li Yifei looked at him and said gravely, "Is it wrong for me to hit them?"

"The matter hasn’t been investigated yet, anything is possible. We won’t wrong the good nor let the bad go," the fat officer said diplomatically.

Li Yifei rubbed his nose, chuckled, and said, "Alright, but all these people must be brought back and detained separately to prevent collusion."

The thin officer laughed first and said, "You really think yourself something? What, feel that being a righteous warrior makes you impressive? Take my advice, don’t meddle too much, head back to the station, this matter isn’t for you to decide."

Li Yifei turned to look at this officer, coldly saying, "Being able to be righteous is indeed impressive, and it’s not meddlesome. I just said, I suspect hotel staff are in cahoots with these two, shouldn’t they be taken too?"

"Come on, are you for real? There are over ten people here, we can’t take everyone! There’s only one vehicle!"

"If one car can’t fit them, they won’t fit in jail either!" Li Yifei shook his head.

"Are you crazy? Stop pretending here, call for an ambulance already, so much fuss after beating people like this. Once investigated, if they turn out to be a couple, you’ll be locked for fifteen days." The thin officer cursed, extending his hand to push Li Yifei. His hand went out but didn’t push Li Yifei, instead being countered, he was pushed back by a great force. His footing unsteady, he stumbled back, behind him was the stairs. If not for the fat officer’s quick reflex in holding him up, he would’ve likely rolled down directly.

"You dare assault the police!" The thin officer steadied himself, immediately shouting, trying to draw his baton.

"If you continue like this, biased this way, I don’t mind assaulting the police again," Li Yifei said coldly.

The situation had developed to this point, out of many people’s expectations, especially the victimized woman. She thought once the police arrived, the matter would be handled well and her justice served, but unexpectedly the thin officer wanted to take her too, making her feel terrified.

As Li Yifei finished speaking, the thin officer became enraged, face flushed with anger, about to make a move but was stopped by the fat officer. He glanced at Li Yifei, nodded, and said, "You too, stop shouting. Our stance is with the victim, but without an investigation, merely listening to your one-sided story can’t convict them. Here’s the deal, I’ll call an ambulance, you beat them like this, they need treatment if it’s severe, that wouldn’t be good. I’ll have a colleague follow, you come back to the station with us."

Right then, the two thugs stopped groaning, and the manager Li Yifei had slapped unconscious woke up, and upon seeing the police, immediately began shouting, "Officer, he hit me, quickly arrest him!"

The thin officer had already turned on his baton, but the fat officer continued to hold him back and ignored the manager. Instead, he said to Li Yifei, "What, not satisfied with my assurance?"

"Haha, fine, we’ll follow your arrangement, we’ll go with you to the station, but these people, each and every one, including this hotel, if we don’t get the truth, you, and you, and everyone else here, I guarantee it won’t be good."
