Chapter 2637 - 2701: At the Brink of Crisis
The members of the Flying Hawk Squad never wish to die while constrained. A phrase has circulated among them: either die on the battlefield, taking several enemies down with them, or one day simply never wake up, never again waking up completely, and never be tortured by illness until they die. They don’t want to become less than human, nor do they want to grow old and unable to move, even farting without energy.
The so-called generals inevitably die on horseback; dying on the battlefield is considered perfect by them. Although, lifeless as ants, they steal life, let alone humans. If it wasn’t for the desire to survive, Dumb Guy wouldn’t have endured such great humiliation and chosen to duel the opposing Vicious Wolf.
But...if the opponent goes too far in their humiliation, then how about risking their life? They are from the Flying Hawk Squad, sharing the same temperament. Faced with such actions, none of them are prepared to endure anymore.
Yet Dumb Guy still endures. He suddenly sighs and says, "Does your leader usually allow you to behave like this?"
"Leader? Haha, we are our own leaders here. We control ourselves!" Vicious Wolf finished speaking but seemed unwilling to continue the topic, so he quickly made a move, charging at Dumb Guy with a fiercer stance. The surrounding people aimed guns at him, ready to fire at any moment.
Dumb Guy also gathered his breath. When it comes to close combat, he’s an expert. It’s just that now his body is injured...so his strength is greatly reduced. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be so difficult, repeatedly being hit by the opponent, making Dumb Guy constantly inhale due to pain.
"Indeed, you’re weak beyond measure, what a waste of emotion!" Vicious Wolf said disdainfully, looking at Dumb Guy already fallen to the ground, spitting a mouthful of saliva on his body, then said, "Weaklings have no right to live in this world, so you..."
As he spoke, Vicious Wolf already raised his foot towards Dumb Guy’s neck. If that foot landed, his neck might be directly snapped. Bound, Zheng Mingrui and others erupted in angry shouts: "No!"
"Quick, dodge!"
The members of the Flying Hawk Squad erupted in a burst of joyful laughter. Their faces carried a sickly fervor, making it very hard to accept. Wasn’t the Flying Hawk Squad previously Huaxia’s number one battle team? Even if not moral models, they had enough tolerance and camaraderie towards their compatriots. Now that Vicious Wolf was about to brutally kill Dumb Guy, they not only did not stop it but showed a relaxed expression. Is this what a Flying Hawk Squad member should have? Even when dealing with cruel terrorists, such brutal killings shouldn’t happen!
They wanted to intervene, but their bodies were twisted and bound, making it impossible.
Dumb Guy lay on the ground, with intense pain coursing through his chest, lower abdomen, and thigh muscles. Having failed to dodge a move earlier, he was continuously struck by the opponent, which covered his body with pain, even making him feel dizzy momentarily.
Gradually recovering, Dumb Guy saw a boot rushing over. Realizing danger, he hurriedly raised his hands, forcefully pushing out. Unfortunately, the opponent stepped down with full force, intending to crush him, so the strength was enormous. Dumb Guy’s hands barely moved out a bit when they encountered the military boot.
Crack, a sound was heard, and Dumb Guy’s wrist was directly crushed. He groaned in pain, but it wasn’t over yet. That military boot continued downward, pressing his hands and neck.
"Do you still dare to resist?" Vicious Wolf looked down fiercely, seeing Dumb Guy’s teeth almost shattering. Even though he hadn’t given up, he didn’t die on one dangerous mission after another, didn’t die on the Middle East battlefield, didn’t die amid the blazing gunfire of Africa, much less in events that couldn’t be made public. If he were to die here, he would be unwilling.
Therefore, Dumb Guy still persistently used all his energy on his arms, even though one wrist was crushed, he continued to persevere, so he didn’t give up, his arms bursting with strength, trying to push off the foot pressing down on him.
"Dumb Guy!" Zheng Mingrui and others shouted with desperation, the latter’s arms bulging, desperately blocking that foot.
Vicious Wolf didn’t expect the opponent to still persist. Originally, he planned to kill him, and kill him brutally, but seeing the man resisting him, he was madly furious, exerting force on his leg, Vicious Wolf wanted to crush him more directly.
Both sides stayed in a stalemate for a while; however, Dumb Guy was still lying on the ground, and a hand was broken. Gradually, his arms were pressed down, seemingly about to be pinned by the neck sooner. Zheng Mingrui and others struggled wildly, but watching them from behind, the members of the Flying Hawk Squad showed no mercy, smashing them with rifle stocks, and hitting them. Zheng Mingrui and others disregarded the pain.
Dumb Guy’s face flushed red, holding his breath. Knowing that as long as he relaxed, his neck would be pinned, so he couldn’t relax, he must persist.
"Go to hell!" Violent Wolf roared fiercely, exerting more force again.
Can’t give up, can’t! Dumb Guy shouted in his heart. Even if it’s a standoff, it can buy more time. Maybe a miracle will appear! Thinking of this, Dumb Guy didn’t know where the strength came from, but managed to push away the foot pressing down on him slightly.
"You’re still a bit tough!" Violent Wolf’s goal was not achieved, his eyes narrowed, and a trace of anger appeared on his face. He then said, "So what? I can’t stomp you to death, but I can still blow you away! Someone, give me a gun!"
As he spoke, Violent Wolf retracted his leg, and the immense force pressing on Dumb Guy’s arms suddenly disappeared. He took a deep breath, ignoring his drooping hand. Hearing Violent Wolf’s words, Dumb Guy replied, "Do you really want to kill me that much?"
"Haha, good question!" Violent Wolf laughed maniacally, his expression twisted as he said, "In my eyes, the life or death of trash isn’t worth mentioning at all, be it you or them. I don’t care why you stormed the military camp; the result is the same—death!"
"I said, we’re here to find someone. The person you allowed into the camp didn’t intend to cause trouble, everything that followed was a misunderstanding!" Dumb Guy explained.
"A misunderstanding? What misunderstanding? There was never any misunderstanding, you just stormed the camp!" Violent Wolf wasn’t buying it. He looked at the struggling Zheng Mingrui and others with a playful gaze, a hint of murderous intent emerged as he said viciously, "Isn’t living well nice? You insist on seeking death. Since you’re here for that, I’ll fulfill your wish! I’ll give you a quick death."
As he spoke, he had already accepted his sidearm into his hand. The dark muzzle pointed at Dumb Guy, the safety was off, and his finger rested on the trigger. Zheng Mingrui and the others, although beaten badly, still shouted, "No, don’t shoot!"
"Don’t shoot? Haha, even if you knelt and called me father, the outcome would still be the same!" Violent Wolf squinted his eyes, seemingly relishing this feeling, the fear of his enemies or opponents, whoever they were, begging desperately, collapsing, physically crushing them, suppressing them mentally. This feeling gave him great enjoyment.
But just at this moment, a car sped in from outside, roaring as it rushed over. With a screeching halt, the vehicle stopped. A guy in military uniform quickly stepped out of the passenger seat. He was quite burly and moved swiftly. He strode over, glanced at the situation on the ground, and said grinningly, "Violent Wolf, what are you doing?"
Violent Wolf saw this person approaching and stopped his actions, squinting his eyes with a disdainful smile, saying, "Lone Wolf, we agreed to mind our own business! Don’t cross the line."
The man called Lone Wolf did not look at Violent Wolf. He glanced at the few captured people, a bit of anger in his eyes, and said, "I’m afraid I have to intervene today. I heard they’re old members of the Flying Hawk Squad. Whatever the case, it’s wrong to **** them like this!"
"Haha, old members? How to prove it? Even if they are old members, how does that justify storming the military camp, seizing guns and vehicles? Even if they truly were, so what? I’ll still kill them!!" Violent Wolf said, showing no respect.
Lone Wolf replied, "That also needs to be investigated clearly before discussing. They’re not ordinary people, why would they storm a military camp without reason."
"Lone Wolf, you better think carefully before you speak, some words require responsibility!" Violent Wolf threatened.
Lone Wolf was provoked, as another Deputy Captain of the Flying Hawk Squad, Lone Wolf and Violent Wolf have always been at odds. They were rivals since joining, having fought several times with mixed outcomes. Violent Wolf originally had no backing, relying solely on fierceness and determination, later joining forces with the Flying Hawk Squad’s captain, Snow Falcon. In contrast, Lone Wolf’s excellent abilities and decent backing ensured his survival until now, otherwise, he would’ve been plotted against without knowing how he died.
Nevertheless, his background only ensured his safety, allowing him to hold a Deputy Captain position in the Flying Hawk Squad, gathering a group of followers. However, surpassing the opponent was impossible; both sides were unwilling to yield, especially to someone like Violent Wolf.
"I’ll take responsibility for my words. What you’re doing is wrong, trying to kill without distinguishing right from wrong. Is this the Flying Hawk Squad or Middle Eastern terrorists? I won’t allow it. Even if this escalates to a military court, I’ll be involved!" Lone Wolf’s voice was steady, yet his words carried a heavy sense of threat, making it hard to doubt he would truly do so. In fact, Lone Wolf has always been one to follow through, rarely speaking in vain.
Although Violent Wolf wholeheartedly wanted to kill, hearing the other’s words, he still squinted his eyes, pondering the pros and cons. Although he could kill by simply pulling the trigger, easily ending a life, with Lone Wolf present, he had to consider the consequences. If the other insisted on making a scene, could he bear it? This was a major issue.
If the other wasn’t there, killing would be the end of it, with no consequences, but with the other there...
