Superman

Chapter 394 - Lightning Resurfaces, Poseidon's Authority

Superman?

Luke grinned and stepped out of the shadows.

"Never thought I'd see you here, Clark ......"

Barry's voice of surprise stopped abruptly as the man who appeared before him was not one of the Justice League's Big Three.

Though the other wore a similar suit, a dark red cape with metallic armor.

And they were equally tall.

Those broad shoulders and strong torsos were full of oppression.

But without that signature little tuft of curly hair, it was like a lost soul.

The two men appeared very different in temperament, and the man standing before them was more aggressive, or a palpable sense of dread.

"Do I remind you of a certain friend?"

After Luke manifested his supernatural abilities, Batman took two silent steps back and pressed his right hand to the belt.

Through his super vision, he saw that the belt contained smoke bombs, gas grenades and various functional bat darts.

It was true that no matter what the situation was, Batman would always be prepared in advance.

But faced with the disadvantageous situation of lack of time and effective information, Luke believed that even if Bruce Wayne himself came over, he wouldn't be able to turn the tide.

"Speaking of which, Bruce Wayne is the editorial team's real father, so wouldn't Thomas Wayne be their real grandfather?"

Luke silently teased.

Because in his previous life, many people said that Superman was the Editor's real son, hanging any super villain, but Batman was the Editor's real father, hanging any Superman.

These two most popular superheroes, perfectly formed a food chain.

"Are you the ...... Superman of this world?"

Barry asked hesitantly.

Discovering that Luke is not the real Superman Clark Kent, he generates other suspicions.

While so much had changed differently in the world of Flashpoint, every important character still existed.

Barry didn't find any trace of Clark in key words like Superman or Metropolis.

But in a different way of thinking, maybe he, like Batman, has been modified from the fate that should have happened.

For example, coming to Earth in a spaceship could have been Clark's dad, Joe Al.

Or General Zod?

Not even waiting for Luke to answer, Barry himself gave the other man a logical explanation for his brain.

"I'm Superman, but I'm not Clark Kent, and I'm not Kal-El, know what I mean?"

Luke said quietly.

He finally became a riddler for a while, answering with something like "I know what I'm talking about".

There is a chance that a lie will leave a hole, but if you throw the question at someone and let them make up the details, you can avoid the biggest flip-flop.

As for the identity setting.

Luke had a copy ready too.

Superman's first cousin.

That the main universe had Supergirl Kara anyway.

It made sense that a Kryptonian first cousin existed in that Flashpoint world.

"Got it, got it."

Barry gave a knowing look.

Inside the Batcave, only Thomas Wayne looked confused, completely deaf to the two men's encrypted conversation.

"I mean no harm, I'm here to help, Barry Allen."

Luke extends an invitation to team up, and I can see that the Flash isn't doing too well.

Until strong evidence is presented, Batman has a hard time trusting him, much less offering any help.

At this point, it was time for a strong teammate to step up and break the ice.

"Help?"

Barry looked at Thomas Wayne next to him with a torn look.

When both Superman and Batman were in front of him at the same time, which one should he choose?

"I know what happened to this world."

Luke made no secret of the fact that he needed the Flash to fix Flashpoint's mistakes and bring himself back to the main universe with him.

"Barry Allen, you need the Speed Force to disappear now!"

Barry nodded vigorously, a look of excitement on his face that had been beaten so hard he didn't know his own mother.

Finally, someone who understood his situation and offered a solution!

Remembering the Thomas Wayne beating, Barry resolutely presses the lights on Luke and accepts the invitation to team up!

"Dr. Wayne, I'd like you to join us, and if Barry Allen succeeds in righting this wrong that has occurred, then your son, Bruce Wayne, will live."

Perhaps Luke, who was used to being Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., automatically brought in the role of giving orders.

Only at this point, there was no one running out to fight him for the right to speak.

The Flash had never been in the habit of being a leader, and Thomas Wayne was determined to keep his son alive.

"If, you guys can save Bruce and fix all of this, then I'm willing to join."

Batman nodded his head in agreement.

Even though he wasn't fully convinced yet, the Flash's words.

But the opportunity was in front of him, and it was worth a shot anyway.

"Good, it looks like we're all happily in agreement."

Luke clapped his hands together, expressing his satisfaction.

"By the way, Dr. Wayne, I forgot to remind you that if Barry Allen corrected the world, you'd cease to exist, I mean, you and Mrs. Wayne would die in that crime alley."

Thomas Wayne still spoke in a low tone, his husky voice not wavering in the slightest.

He looked at the family photo and said calmly, "That's exactly what I want to see, for this awful world to collapse in a torrent of time and space."

Luke smiled and thought Bruce Wayne would be moved to tears at this heavy fatherly love.

......

......

"What do you need to replicate that accident?"

After mutually deciding on the willingness to work together and their respective goals, Thomas Wayne moves on to the execution phase.

He's not a character who likes to procrastinate, and it's in keeping with Batman's style to get what needs to be done done quickly.

"A lightning rod, a chair that can be electrified, ninhydrin ......"

Barry made a long list, but luckily he remembered the chemicals that were on display in the lab.

As Luke had said, it was imperative that the Flash regain the Speed Force.

The easiest, and most effective way to do that.

Naturally-.

Let Barry Allen be struck by lightning.

"Throwing chemicals on yourself and then connecting a lightning bolt will turn you into the 'fastest man in the world'?"

Thomas Wayne couldn't resist the urge to spit out the question.

To him, it was no different than suicide.

"That's how I first became the Flash."

Barry took the things he had prepared and carried them up to the rooftop of the Wayne mansion.

The last thing Gotham City needed was rainy weather.

Lightning and thunder were a regular occurrence.

It saved him a lot of time.

Otherwise, there was no telling how long he would have wasted just waiting for that lightning to strike.

"Barry, have you ever heard of a saying? 'Lightning doesn't hit the same place twice'."

Luke looked up at the muffled leaden clouds of thunder, and to be honest, he wasn't sure if the Flash would succeed.

From memory, it seemed that Barry had experienced one failure before fluently regaining his power.

"A lot of people have told me that it was the lightning that chose me."

Barry sits in an iron chair, wearing a helmet equipped with a lightning bolt and restraint straps on his hands and feet, like a prisoner being sent to the electric chair for execution.

"Now is the moment to prove who fate really favors!"

Ka-chow!

Silver-white lightning tears through the clouds!

"I'm here! Come on! Come here!"

Barry called out like a madman over the rolling thunder.

The cold drops of rain hit his face, adding to the chill.

Ten minutes passed, his throat was screaming hoarse, and he was so stunned that not a single bolt of lightning struck.

It made the Flash's courage filled actions look a little silly.

"I suddenly feel a little stupid for accompanying you guys on the rooftop in the rain and then waiting for this guy to get struck by lightning ......"

Batman said silently.

The lightning pin was standing straight up, but none of the lightning was attracted to it.

He didn't even know whether to say that Barry was lucky or unlucky enough.

"Or, come back another time."

Barry, drenched in the cold rain and shivering, seemed to think that sitting around waiting for lightning to strike him was an unreliable plan.

Maybe he should move somewhere else, like under a tree, or tie himself to a kite.

"Wait, don't give up just yet, I might have an idea."

Luke frowned at the thought and felt a golden trident from the underworld.

When he had beaten Namor earlier, he had collected the other weapon, the Poseidon Trident of Atlantis.

Later, it had been turned over to S.H.I.E.L.D. and had been kept in storage at the secret base, not much use had been made of it.

After stripping Death Seth of his authority, he was given the use of the underworld.

He then threw all those miscellaneous contraptions into it.

After all, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s security level was nowhere near as high as Superman's.

"Are you ...... imitating Arthur?"

Barry looked confused and looked at Luke who was holding up his trident.

Using the image of Superman, doing the Neptune's gesture, it was a little off-putting how it looked.

"Good luck with that, Barry."

Luke glanced at the Flash waiting for the lightning strike and held the golden trident in both hands, triggering the celestial change.

Ka-ching!

Boom!

A bolt of electricity, like a celestial spear, was cast straight down, right on Barry Allen, who was sitting in a chair.

Zzzz!

Electricity traveled throughout the body, and within a few breaths, the rooftop was filled with the burnt smell of grilled meat.

"Flash Teppanyaki ...... is so gluttonous, oh no, so cruel."

Luke narrowed his eyes at Barry, whose entire body was about to turn into charcoal.
