Superman

Chapter 447: Rebellious Little Cousin, New Superman to the Rescue

Just as Luke and Kryptonian female Commander Fiora, have a backroom conversation.

Back in Metropolis, his younger cousin, Clark, got into an argument with his agent, Lex.

"Godfather said that Zod couldn't have hurt your parents, he was just making verbal threats."

Lex persuaded, rubbing his temples.

"Who's to say he won't do it?"

Clark paced back and forth.

Acting anxious.

He wasn't in a girlfriend relationship right now.

So it was for Superman.

The most important thing on Earth was his adoptive parents.

The thought of them falling into the hands of General Zod, likely to be abused, or beaten.

Clark felt irritable and unsettled, and had trouble calming down.

"You should trust the godfather's judgment."

Lex bristled, he had a whole lot on his hands as well.

About the amazing fight that had taken place a few hours ago.

The White House had called over several times, and the Pentagon had even sent in troops to surround the Walter Corporation building.

The top brass of the federal government, they all couldn't wait to meet with Superman and get a definitive answer.

The giant spaceship hovering in near-moon orbit, the Kryptonian who fights planes with his bare hands ......

These are like a time bomb that can be detonated at any time.

No one would like that the room they live in is littered with minefields.

"Of course I believe in my first cousin! But ...... I'm more afraid of accidents."

Clark scratched his head hard, like a serious insomniac.

Clearly sleepy, but unable to lie down because his work wasn't done.

He had been waiting for Luke to make his move, but two hours had passed and there was still no word from his older cousin.

"So what are you going to do?"

Lex's eyes flickered for a moment, as if he wanted to say something, but finally swallowed it back.

"Take the initiative to contact Zod and confirm the safety of my family!"

As if he had made up his mind, Clark looked to Lex and pleaded, "I need your help, Lex!"

"Okay, so what do I do, or rather, what do you want me to do?"

Lex thought for a moment and asked helplessly.

"Send a message to Zod's ship."

Clark said in a deep voice as he gazed at the shadows reflected in the floor-to-ceiling windows.

......

......

Twenty minutes later, on the empty and desolate yellow sands of the Gobi, Clark stood quietly and

The message sent by Lex soon received a response from General Zod.

The latter demanded that Clark must come aboard the ship for a face-to-face conversation.

Sounds very dangerous, alone, alone in the dragon's den, how to look at it is not a wise decision.

But the victory over the Kryptonian warrior Superman, think not, directly agreed.

He is still a seventeen-year-old boy, far from mature and calm.

In the distant sky, a flying machine swept through the low altitude at great speed, raising a violent sandstorm.

Clark narrowed his eyes, the landing of the unidentified flying object looks like a beetle.

The body is black, imitating biological structure.

The elegance of the barbaric atmosphere, and Earth civilization has a completely different design style.

The hatch opened, hovering ladder down, two Kryptonian warriors in black armor came out of it.

One of them, revealing his face, spoke, "Kal-El, I am Explorer Ilden, greeting you on behalf of General Zod."

"Are you the only one?"

Clark nodded; his older cousin was interrogating the two Kryptonian captives and Lex couldn't be of any use.

He felt he could solve the problem alone.

Explorer Ilton said nothing more.

A deep glance at Clark, then led the other man into the craft.

He didn't ask about Commander Fiora, who had been captured alive, and the whereabouts of the other Kryptonian warrior.

The birth code was the top priority, and the rest could be put on the back burner.

All of the Kryptonians loyal to General Zod were the henchmen who had followed the other side in an ironic coup, leading the resistance in an attempt to overthrow the corrupt rule of Krypton.

After their defeat, they were exiled together to phantom space to spend endless darkness.

It was not until the destruction of Krypton that they were liberated.

When they awoke from the hibernation chamber, everywhere they looked was the wreckage of Krypton's destruction.

The cold meteorite belt floating in the void, the former home to survive is no longer there.

The tremendous blow left everyone disheartened, and it was General Zod who lifted everyone's spirits and led the charge to get them to modify their light-speed propulsion engines and get out of that dead zone.

"General Zod is looking forward to this meeting."

Irton looked to young Clark and whispered.

The former home turned into a dead land, the glorious civilization is already dust.

Vast and endless dark universe, with Kryptonian bloodline of the same race is very little.

Boom!

The beetle craft abruptly took off, pulling into a blurred shadow.

It quickly broke through the atmosphere and rushed out of the azure planet.

"Here we are."

Ilton released his seat belt, and the craft slowed down, completing docking with the giant ship.

Along the lower space and into the wide chamber.

Clark followed Explorer Ilton's lead and came to take the empty bridge.

The strong back in black armor stood alone on the semicircular overlook.

At his feet was the vast celestial body that radiated beautiful life.

"This is General Zod, our leader."

Explorer Irton said with a respectful tone.

"How strong ......"

Clark looked at the other man, in his perception.

General Zod was dripping with a terrifying aura, as if an active volcano of silence, which was palpitating.

"What are you prepared to talk about? Threatening with my family, or besieging me? The kidnapping of such a trick can be used, the tactics are really despicable!"

Gathering distracting thoughts, Clark asked in a cold voice.

"How dare you! How dare you disrespect the General!"

The Kryptonian warriors surrounding the perimeter were furious and rebuked in unison.

In their hearts, General Zod was the great leader who had led them to rebuild their homeland and absolutely could not allow anyone to belittle him.

"Ilden, let us forgive Kal's insolence; he is not yet familiar with Kryptonian etiquette."

General Zod stopped everyone's angry rebuke and said in a deep, strong voice, "We have a new compatriot, and that deserves a good celebration, not unproductive bickering."

Clark's face was expressionless, his super vision in the ship.

It seemed to be severely limited, unable to penetrate the cabin walls at all.

"I ......"

Clark was about to say something when his body suddenly surged with an extremely strong feeling of discomfort.

The sound heard became noisy, as if a mass of sharp noise, irritating the eardrums.

The eyesight gradually blurred, and the light deflated into a hazy scene.

A feeling of weakness filled the strong body.

"I'm ...... a little sick."

Clark said with difficulty as if he had been drained of strength.

As if facing the kryptonite radiation straight on, his body swayed, unsteady on his feet, and he fell violently to the ground.

Looking at the son of his deceased family falling to his knees in front of him, his lips still dripping the slightest bit of blood, the corners of Zod's mouth could not help but reveal an ironic smile: "You spent a long time adapting to Earth's environment, and now you can't accept your home planet."

"Carl, to get rid of this pain, you can only rely on your own will and strength, no one can help you."

Clark could no longer hear Zod's voice at all, and the unfamiliar and incomparable atmosphere was almost suffocating him.

Weakness came in waves like a tidal wave, and Superman collapsed on the cold metal floor, his drowsy consciousness slowly sinking into darkness.

............

When Clark opened his eyes again, he found himself on a farm in Kansas.

It was the place where he had grown up and everything was so familiar.

"Hello, Carl, perhaps you'd prefer I call you Clark."

Zod's voice startled a bewildered Clark.

He slowly rose to his feet and looked around at the scene.

Confirming that this was the farm in Kansas, the warm family he remembered.

"I was the military leader of Krypton, and your father was the chief scientist of our planet, a very brilliant man with an extraordinary vision."

"The only thing we agreed on was the imminent destruction of Krypton."

"I, at the time, tried to stop this from happening and preserve the flame of Kryptonian civilization, but was rewarded with my banishment to the Phantom Zone - a dead place in the universe - along with my men!"

Zod faced the son of his late father, as if he saw Jor-El again.

The man who, like him, tried to defend Krypton.

Only in the end, they each chose a different path.

"Krypton's destruction allowed me to regain freedom, we should have drifted in the wreckage of the planet until death, but we are not willing to do so!

Zod lamented.

He and his men had fallen into despair.

But Raoul was on top, and the gods finally looked out for Krypton, allowing them to survive.

"How did you find Earth?"

Clark asked, frowning.

He didn't understand how Zod and his group had come to Earth.

In the vast and endless universe between, there was no clear coordinate location.

Trying to find this azure planet was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

"We modified the vehicle thrusters to cause the speed of light, and it was a similar modification that your father made to get you to Earth."

"The tool that once imprisoned us ended up saving us, I have to say, it's really a blessing."

A complex look swept through Zod's eyes as he continued.

"We searched the outposts of the old colonial era for signs of life, but came up empty."

"They had been abandoned after we lost contact with Krypton, and we took all the resources we could use, armor, weapons, and the world engine ...... just struggled through thirty-three years until a distress signal was detected not long ago."

"You're the one who brought us here, Carl."

General Zod gazed at Clark with an eager gaze, like a traveler in the darkness of night seeing the light of a lamp.

"Now you have the power to save our race, all the unborn children on Krypton whose genetics were written in the civic file that is the 'Fertility Code'."

"Your father stole it and hid it in your possession."

Clark listened with some confusion, he simply did not know his true identity.

So, subconsciously, he asked, "Why would my father steal the Fertility Code?"

"Because that way, Krypton could be reborn on Earth!"

A flash of frenzy rose in Zod's eyes, and he waved his hand as a behemoth fell from the sky.

Three huge metal supports stood on the earth, and a dazzling pillar of energy spurted out from the center.

The ground shook violently in a huge cloud of smoke and dust, destroying Clark's familiar farmhouse!

Superman, who witnessed the scene, seemed to understand something.

"Tell me Carl, where is the fertility code?"

In the doomsday-like scene, Zod asked in a stern voice.

"If Krypton is reborn, then what will happen to Earth?"

Clark asked rhetorically.

"The rebirth of civilization always needs to be built on destruction, even your father understood that."

Zod's voice was cold.

He was a Kryptonian.

Of course he didn't care about the death of Earth.

For General Zod, rebuilding his home was the only hope in his life after that, and no one could stop him from moving forward.

"No, Zod, I'm not going to help you."

Clark shook his head no.

He saw the devastation all around him.

If Krypton was truly reborn, the price to be paid would inevitably be all life on Earth.

"Then who will you help?"

The landscape changed again, endless skeletal bones spread across the earth, gradually pulling Clark down.

Zod stood tall and looked down on the son of his late father.

This dream ended here, and he had gotten the answer from the other man's mouth.

"Your father was willing to give his life for the sake of honor, Kal."

When Clark opened his eyes once more, he found himself chained to a metal table.

Zod looked at him faintly, a hint of regret in his tone.

"I told you, my name is Kakarot, and I don't even know you guys."

Clark corrected.

He wasn't some Kryptonian.

"Whoever you are, hand over the Fertility Code! Or you'll pay the price!"

Zod said indifferently.

He had been set up from birth with the genetic template to defend Krypton.

Everything else could be sacrificed for the sake of this great goal.

Giving Clark a deep look, Zod turned his head away.

He knew exactly what an emotionally troubled personality like Kal cared most about.

Therefore did not worry, the other party will not give in.

When he got the Life Code, he could take the first step to rebuild his home.

Krypton will be reborn on this azure planet, Zod slowly stepped to the empty overlook, his heart filled with a vision for the future.

"Did he agree to cooperate?"

Explorer Ilden walked up behind General Zod.

In the eyes of the Kryptonians, Earth civilization was backward and weak, and it would not be difficult to conquer it.

But the key lies in how to make the broken and extinct Kryptonian civilization reborn again!

Originally Zod and his team, thought they were the only remaining Kryptonian bloodline in the universe.

But fate gave them a big surprise.

The son of Jor-El sent a call to the vast river of stars, bringing them to this azure planet before.

Most thankfully, the fertility code that governs the genetic code of Krypton is also in the hands of the other side.

It was as if all this was predestined, giving Zod a renewed sense of hope.

Rebuild Krypton!

"Kal, like his father, could not see things the way they were."

"The boy rejected me, he had too many feelings for Earthlings to recognize which side he was supposed to be on."

Zod said with his hands behind his back and a frown.

Clark's uncooperative, in his expectation.

For the tender and youthful son of his late father, he was forgiving and chose to give the other side a little more time to seriously consider.

"So what do we do?"

Explorer Ilton inquired.

"Karl needs to realize one thing, we are the ones who are his compatriots, those Earthlings will only see him as an alien!"

Zod sneered, he had a general idea of Superman's situation through information from the Internet.

"As for the fertility code, he will obediently hand it over to me, he cares too much about the lives of those Earthlings, which is a fatal weakness."

Explorer Ilton understood the meaning, the moment of necessity, can use the human couple as a threat.

General Zod did not point through because he would have disdained to take such despicable means.

But Clark was too stubborn, preferring to turn his back on his countrymen to protect Earth.

This was a fool's errand in the eyes of Zod, who valued Krypton and honor above all else!

"I understand."

Explorer Ilden nodded, then asked, "Then Fiora and the others ......"

"The reconstruction of Krypton is the first priority, even if they sacrifice, it is also a good death!"

Zod waved his hand and said coldly.

Explorer Ilden sighed darkly and left the overlook.

Zod stood alone on the bridge, gazing at Earth.

His desperate mind was finally at peace.

The home planet that he had sworn to protect was shattering and crumbling before his eyes.

This almost made Zod lose his hope to live.

The only mission and responsibility in his life was thus erased, and the Kryptonian general who had escaped the Phantom Zone wandered and drifted in the dark universe like a ghost.

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, a bit of bright light abruptly broke into Zod's line of sight.

The aura of energy that approximated an astronomical wave appeared in his perception.

It was as if a giant beast of the deep sea had been violently invaded into the ground.

Zod instantly became alert, his whole body muscles tensed up and entered into a combat state.

Have the Earthlings launched nuclear weapons?

Zod thought so.

That was the most powerful military weapon known to Earth civilization, and the only thing that could kill Kryptonians.

Rumble...

The dazzling light quickly broke through the atmosphere, like a fleeting golden lightning.

In an instant it descended before the Kryptonian ship.

This time, Zod finally saw clearly the true nature of the blinding light -

Dark red cloak, in front of his eyes hunting fluttering.
