Chapter 1590: Looked Down Upon
Following the location Wang Cuixia sent, Xu Ke quickly found her in the mall.
Right then, Wang Cuixia was in a boutique trying on clothes, and she even still had some new clothes on that she hadn’t had time to take off.
Seeing Xu Ke arrive, Wang Cuixia immediately ran out.
"Son, why are you only getting here now? You don’t know what kind of looks the staff were giving me just now, and there were even two people who came over and said a couple of nasty things to me."
Hearing Wang Cuixia’s words, Xu Ke was full of confusion.
What the hell is this? Isn’t this mall owned by their family? In their own mall, Wang Cuixia could still be bullied like this—Xu Ke didn’t even know what to say.
"Mom, did you forget to tell them? They probably took you for an ordinary customer, that’s why they treated you like that."
Xu Ke figured that was probably the case, but the whole thing still really pissed him off.
Even if Wang Cuixia were just an ordinary person, the sales staff still couldn’t treat her with that kind of attitude.
You have to know, ordinary people make up the vast majority in this world. If they did business with that kind of attitude, then the Xu Group would get eliminated by this world sooner or later.
Don’t underestimate the power of ordinary people. If they really banded together to boycott them, then no matter how powerful the Xu Group was, they absolutely wouldn’t be a match.
The prerequisite for a company to grow is winning over the hearts of the people. Once a company loses that, its future definitely won’t be long.
Xu Ke had realized this problem a long time ago, so no matter what he did, he always maintained a humble attitude.
"Son, do you think your mom is that kind of person? I had just walked into the store to try on clothes, and the second those staff saw what I was wearing, their attitude immediately changed. Two of them were even quietly mocking me behind my back, saying that dressed this shabbily I actually dared come to such a high-end place."
After hearing that, Xu Ke finally noticed that today his mother actually wasn’t wearing the clothes she usually wore. Instead, she’d somehow gotten herself a set of very ordinary street-stall stuff.
"Mom, where did you get these clothes? I remember last time Keyi and I bought you so many new things, right? You couldn’t even get through all of those, so why are you wearing this kind of stuff?"
Xu Ke wasn’t looking down on anyone; he just felt there was no need for Wang Cuixia to do this.
They’d come out to enjoy themselves, and now she’d gone and invited cold ridicule instead.
"Tell me, Xu Ke, are you on your own mother’s side or the outsiders’ side? If you keep this up, then I don’t think you should stay here with me."
Now Wang Cuixia was already getting a bit angry—her own son wasn’t backing her up and was instead siding with outsiders.
Xu Ke had only been speaking matter-of-factly, but seeing that Wang Cuixia was really mad, he immediately shut his mouth obediently.
"Alright, didn’t you say you were going to buy clothes? Then you go in and pay first; I brought the bank card." As she spoke, Xu Ke put the bank card down in front of Wang Zhihua.
"No way! Today, no matter what, you’re coming with me to pay." Saying that, Wang Cuixia stuffed the bank card back into Xu Ke’s pocket.
Xu Ke was speechless now and could only let Wang Cuixia have her way.
Taking Xiao Keyi with him, they went into the store together with Wang Cuixia.
Anyway, Xu Ke figured this was all their own property, so they could mess around however they liked. Today he’d just let Wang Cuixia do as she pleased.
Seeing that Wang Cuixia had come back, the staff who’d been chattering away just now immediately came up to greet her.
But the contemptuous smirk on their faces was still there, and Xu Ke quickly picked up on that detail.
Earlier, he’d thought maybe it was Wang Cuixia’s attitude that was off, but now it seemed things really were just as his mother had said—these salespeople themselves were the problem.
"My mom wants to buy clothes here. Bring out the most expensive clothes you’ve got."
As soon as Xu Ke said that, the staff present were all stunned.
One of the shift leaders carefully sized up what Xu Ke was wearing, his expression not changing much.
Based on all his years dealing with clothing brands, he quickly judged that the clothes on Xu Ke altogether weren’t worth more than 500 yuan.
For someone whose entire outfit didn’t even exceed 1,000 yuan, the words Xu Ke had just said were no different from farting.
"Sir, can you really afford clothes that expensive? Let me tell you, the priciest piece in our store is over five hundred thousand, and that’s just a single item, not even a whole set."
By now the staff had already fully shown how much they looked down on Xu Ke and the others—no money and still coming here pretending to be some big shot?
Xu Ke was also a bit dumbfounded by that line from the staff. Since when were salespeople this cocky?
He’d only said he wanted to buy the most expensive clothes, and yet their attitude had already made him extremely annoyed.
"Is this the way your store manager taught you to treat customers? Did he tell you to handle guests like this?"
Now Xu Ke was truly angry. If he didn’t properly deal with what happened today, who knew what kind of trouble these staff might stir up down the line.
It was lucky it was him they’d run into today. If it had been some other difficult customer who then blasted everything that happened here out in public, the company’s image would take a huge hit.
"Our store manager, huh? You’re daydreaming. With your kind of status, how could you possibly meet our store manager? Our manager works for the Xu Group. He’s got tons of things to deal with every day, and if there’s nothing major going on he doesn’t even come to our place."
From what the staff said, you could tell the store manager here was actually an employee of the Xu Group, which did surprise Xu Ke a bit.
But that made the whole thing much easier to handle. Since he was with the Xu Group, Xu Ke could get him over here with just one phone call.
"I’m giving you ten minutes to get your manager here. If you can’t, then the few of you can roll out of here."
Xu Ke felt he was already being more than generous with these staff. If it were the old him, they’d have been kicked out with one boot long ago.
Right then, the lead shift supervisor looked at Xu Ke like he was looking at an idiot.
He had no idea which mental patient had escaped from the hospital and come to their store to bring them this kind of bad luck.
"Fine, fine, I see you won’t give up until you see the Yellow River. I’ll call our store manager over right now, and then we’ll see what you can do." With that, he picked up his phone and immediately called their manager.
Xu Ke just refused to believe it—on his own turf, there could actually be people this arrogant!
Staff like this had no business working in their mall at all. They were completely damaging the face of the Xu Group. Rotten apples like these are better off gone.
