Chapter 1535: Specific Characteristics
Watching Xu Hua’s departing figure, Xiao Keyi felt somewhat uneasy in her heart.
Xu Hua’s departure looked so practiced, as if he was born knowing how to leave like that.
Since being with Xu Ke, Xiao Keyi gradually came into contact with Xu Hua.
Regarding her future father-in-law, Xiao Keyi did not have much understanding initially.
She just knew that he didn’t have much to do all day, didn’t go to the office, and stayed at home all the time.
However, as she interacted with him more deeply later, Xiao Keyi gradually discovered that her father-in-law wasn’t quite what she imagined.
Xu Hua did have his own ideas, but when he was young, they were forcibly halted by the old master Xu.
Since Xu Ke arrived, Xu Hua never mentioned anything concerning himself again.
Xiao Keyi could tell he had closed off his inner self; he too wanted to achieve something, but unfortunately, he was born into such a family, and unfortunately, the old master Xu didn’t understand him.
Xiao Keyi decided to treat her father-in-law better in the future, as long as the things he wanted to do didn’t involve principle issues, she would try to satisfy him.
Xiao Keyi watched TV for a while, then Wang Cuixia hurriedly returned home.
"Keyi, what exactly is going on? Quickly, tell Aunt thoroughly."
On the way back, Wang Cuixia kept pondering how to handle this matter.
The other party’s focus was on Xiao Keyi, which meant their aim must be Xu Ke.
After all, Xiao Keyi had no foundation in Capital City, targeting her alone wouldn’t achieve anything.
Upon seeing Wang Cuixia, Xiao Keyi’s heart finally relaxed.
She had been worried all the way, wondering if she would be caught by the other party upon her return.
"Auntie, the situation is as I explained on the phone earlier. However, the bodyguards didn’t find out anything about the other party, and I haven’t seen those people the bodyguards mentioned. So, trying to find out about them doesn’t seem easy."
Not having seen Murong Hai and his group personally, Xiao Keyi only knew about them from what the bodyguards said.
Not seeing them posed a challenge. Although it wasn’t entirely impossible to act, investigating still posed certain difficulties.
"Do they have any major identifying features or anything they have in common?"
Wang Cuixia thought, since they were operating as a gang, it was possible they were indeed a group, and if they were a group, they would certainly have their exclusive insignia or token.
Xiao Keyi thought carefully; the bodyguards hadn’t mentioned anything, nor had she asked.
"Auntie, I haven’t asked them about it. If you consider it important, I’ll call them in right now."
Wang Cuixia nodded lightly, believing it quite necessary.
Once they clarified any features of the opposite party, it would be relatively easy to find them in a small place like Capital City, Wang Cuixia thought.
After all, the Xu Family hadn’t been idly going about these years; they indeed had many of their own informants in secret.
After returning, Xiao Keyi had asked the bodyguards to rest; however, now with Wang Cuixia’s questions, he called for the servants to bring them back.
"Miss, you called for me?"
"It wasn’t me calling you, it’s the madam. Talk about whether any obvious identity features catch your eye from those people earlier. Or anything remarkable enough that you’d recognize them again at a glance."
Upon hearing Xiao Keyi’s words, the bodyguards began recalling the morning’s events.
The group led by Murong Hai gave them an organized, planned, orderly feeling.
Definitely not like some street thugs, nor any impromptu shady characters.
These few bodyguards had seen much of the world through years of experience.
They had encountered many things, and had long distinguished something special about Murong Hai’s group.
"Madam, this morning we followed the young master’s orders to protect the lady. Upon leaving, we saw they constantly watched us closely. Yet, we avoided provoking them prematurely to avoid startling them. Around the park, they couldn’t seem to hold back. But judging by their behavior, they weren’t in a hurry to capture the lady straight away; instead, they were observing around, appearing to confirm something. Once surrounded, they spoke plenty in murmurs, though we couldn’t understand a word."
"Couldn’t understand?" Wang Cuixia was suddenly bewildered.
Could it be these people were all foreigners, speaking languages other than Mandarin?
"These people couldn’t be foreigners, could they? Did you notice any foreign features on them?"
"No, no, madam, you misunderstood me. What I meant was, they weren’t speaking Mandarin. It sounded like a local dialect, and we, not being from that place, couldn’t understand it."
Wang Cuixia now understood; clearly, the group’s leader was rather clever.
They aimed for their plan to encounter no mishaps, commonly communicating using their unique local language.
This way, outsiders wouldn’t understand, but they could express their intentions.
"A dialect? Organized, disciplined." These clues briefly left Wang Cuixia unsure where to start.
After all, the country was vast, with over fifty unique dialects scattered across regions.
Investigating them one by one would be like finding a needle in a haystack, hardly practical.
Yet without investigating this aspect, obtaining any more valuable clues seemed unlikely.
"Have you found any more valuable clues, like concerning their clothing or physical traits such as height or build?"
"Height or build and their apparel." The bodyguards immediately thought of Murong Hai.
Murong Hai left such a deep impression since he was extraordinarily handsome.
They couldn’t understand why someone so handsome would be involved in such activities; why not modeling or joining entertainment, as it certainly seemed a waste.
Besides, they noticed Murong Hai was clearly the group’s leader.
Whatever he spoke, the group followed his lead.
Thus, it wasn’t surprising they moved swiftly, seemingly acting under prior orders.
