During his fight with Yun Tu, Gu Han had taken a saint herb. Although he only used it to heal himself, quite a few law fragments had still merged into his divine soul, nearly pushing his cultivation into the second stage of the Saint realm. Now that he had fully absorbed this top-grade saint herb from the Zhang family, it was only natural that he broke through a few stages in succession.

Within his consciousness space, a faintly flickering light cluster floated. It was the Ultimate Saint Law Fragment that Yang Yi had personally sealed. Gu Han had kept it stored here. According to Chongming, it could only be absorbed after reaching the ninth stage of the Saint realm.

Gu Han believed that it wouldn’t take too long. “Ninth stage, huh. That’s not too difficult.”

Baiting people and scavenging was the source of his confidence! In the Tiannan Realm, saint herbs, Soul Crystals, and everything he required could be obtained through scavenging. Moreover, since it was all business with no overhead, he didn’t have to spend a single dime.

Scavenging’s great! It has a bright future...

He sighed inwardly, even entertaining the thought of following Chen Qing’s example and compiling a scavenging manual of his own.

Outside the cave, Chen Qing was in a daze, as if he had lost his soul. He had been like this ever since he walked out of the Zhang family’s estate. Gu Han’s actions had completely overturned his understanding of scavenging.

So this is how it works. Scavenging doesn’t need cowardice, playing it safe, or luck... As long as you’re strong enough and know how to bait people, you could become an excellent scavenger!

Just then, a formidable pressure faintly emanated from within the cave. Gu Han had soundlessly appeared before them.

Chen Qing and his three disciples quickly bowed. “Senior!”

Chongming shot Gu Han a displeased glance. “Kid, if you make me eat any more of that junk, I’ll have it out with you!”

Gu Han chuckled. “No more of that. If we can’t take it with us, we’ll just destroy it.”

Earlier, Gu Han had inquired thoroughly while at the Zhang family. The Zhang family’s old ancestor had indeed been invited to the Hehuan Sect. Moreover, within this region, there were five other third-rate forces that were on good terms with the Hehuan Sect Master. They happened to correspond to the six people Ah Gou had mentioned, so he didn’t intend to let a single one of them off.

“Next one—hm?”

He suddenly looked into the distance, and his eyes narrowed. Chongming also sprang to his feet.

Chen Qing asked curiously, “Senior, what’s wrong?”

Gu Han smiled and casually tossed him a storage ring. “Nothing. I told you before that I don’t like owing favors. This is the tenfold I promised you back then.”

Chen Qing instinctively looked inside, and there were over a hundred drops of Transcendent Substance alone! As if that wasn’t enough, there were all sorts of pills, spirit herbs, heavenly treasures, and gifts! There was even a half-saint herb among them! Chen Qing almost went blind. Forget three hundred years, even if he scavenged for three thousand years, he couldn’t get this much!

Gu Han waved his hand. “You should go. What happens next doesn’t concern you.”

Chen Qing’s eyes glistened with tears as he was reluctant to part. “Senior, I wish to follow you and learn your way of scavenging!”

Gu Han raised an eyebrow as an ambiguous smile played on his lips. “You’re not leaving? A few dozen Saint realm cultivators are coming, and even a few Feather Transformation realm ones too. If you don’t leave, I’d say your chances of dying here are ninety-nine percent.”

Chen Qing wiped his tears and turned to leave. “Senior, we’ll meet again down the road!”

Gu Han chuckled softly. “I’ll give you a send-off!”

As his voice trailed off, a trace of overbearing Saint might descended, sweeping up Chen Qing and his three disciples and flinging them away.

Faintly, Chen Qing’s voice could still be heard. “Senior... you must... live...”

Gu Han took a deep breath, his smile gradually fading. “No shit! I’ll live forever!”

As his words fell, a few figures appeared in the distant sky. The lowest among them were at the Saint realm. At the lead were the Hehuan Sect Master and those six old lovers. In just a few breaths, they descended one after another, surrounding Gu Han and Chongming.

There were twenty-six Saint realm cultivators which included the remaining four pink-robed men of the Hehuan Sect. The rest were all the Saint realm cultivators from the other five families, excluding the Zhang family. So there were thirty-three in total.

These people carried ill intent to begin with and had no intention of concealing their cultivation. Their auras linked together, leveling the small mountain where Gu Han was staying into flat ground. Through the dust and smoke, the man and the rooster appeared hazy, almost ethereal.

Elder Zhang stared fixedly at Gu Han with killing intent. “Did you rob the Zhang family?!”

Gu Han corrected him. “It’s not robbing, it’s called scavenging.”

Elder Zhang choked on his words. “Y-you! W-where’s my saint herb?!”

Gu Han smiled. “Ate it. You got a problem with that?”

Elder Zhang felt a pang in his heart. “And the rest?!”

Chongming declared proudly, “I ate it! You got a problem with that? Pft! What trash! It dirtied my mouth!”

Elder Zhang trembled with rage. “I will grind your bones to dust and scatter your ashes!”

The Hehuan Sect Master looked at Gu Han. “You have some nerve hiding here of all places!”

Gu Han frowned slightly. “I have a question. How did you find me?”

The Hehuan Sect Master sneered. “Ah Gou, come out!”

As her voice fell, a shadow twisted for a moment and slowly revealed Ah Gou.

Chongming flew into a rage. “It’s him again! Gu Han, what did I tell you?! You can’t be softhearted! Look, this dog demon’s not trustworthy! He sold us both out the first chance he got!”

Meanwhile, Gu Han felt that Ah Gou’s expressionless, stiff demeanor was very different from before. Clearly, something was wrong.

Upon seeing Chongming speak, the young man’s eyes lit up. “Sect Master, is that the rooster?”

The Hehuan Sect Master licked her lips. “Mhm. It’s him.”

The young man praised loudly and excitedly, “Sect Master, you have a good eye!”

By now, Chongming understood the deeper meaning in their eyes. He broke down, cursing furiously, “Bastards! If I don’t kill you two today, I swear I’m not a rooster!”

Gu Han’s heart dropped. “Master Rooster, can you manage?”

Chongming gave him a cold look. “Step back! Mind your own business!”

A faint layer of five-colored divine light appeared on him as he charged straight at the man and woman. “Great Might—”

Running out of patience, Elder Zhang casually fired a green light, sending Chongming flying away. With a loud crash, Chongming plunged headfirst into the ground, leaving only his bald-feathered butt exposed.

The young man and the Hehuan Sect Master stared at the rooster butt, swallowing in unison. Then, the two of them then glared fiercely at Elder Zhang, as if blaming him for being too rough. “Go easy!”

Elder Zhang was baffled.

Chongming felt too ashamed to show his face, so he simply stayed put, saying in indignation, “Kid, help me kill them!”

Gu Han shook his head inwardly, then gently raised his right hand. A pitch-black sword that carried a sharp, piercing aura fell into his grasp. His gaze swept over the crowd as his eyes narrowed slightly. “Perfect timing! Saves me the trouble of tracking each one of you down and wasting my time!”

He glanced at the sword and took a deep breath. “Old friend, you’ve been cooped up these past days too, haven’t you? Today, shall we kill to our hearts’ content?”

The sword vibrated gently as if responding to him.

The moment he pointed his sword straight at the crowd, one hundred and eight red sword qi descended. “Sword Formation, rise!”
