Chapter 348 - Barbarian Tribe Encirclement
The barbarians were about to surround Gu Han. Under such circumstances, he didn’t dare to get tangled up in battle. He swept his gaze and picked a direction from which no sound came. Cloaked in formless sword qi, he transformed into a rainbow light and vanished into the distance.
Since most of the barbarian tribe’s experts had rushed to the border, there weren’t many left behind. Plus, his sword evasion was extremely fast. In just a few breaths, he had left the pursuing group far behind, unable to even catch their shadows.
The demoness appeared puzzled. “How strange... You were very careful when you struck earlier. How did they find us?”
Gu Han was speechless. How am I supposed to explain this? It seems Instructor Mei has much more experience with this than I do.
After sensing the silence all around, he let out a small sigh of relief. “Thank god the War God Hall is pretty big. I haven’t run into—”
As if on cue, a barbarian’s angry roar resounded from up ahead. “There he is!”
Then, a powerful surge of vital qi erupted. A barbarian, who seemed to be a commander charged straight at him with over ten guards. The commander was at the Half-Step Transcendent realm!
Gu Han cursed inwardly, “Fuck! How can I be this unlucky? I clearly saw that no one was here. Where did these guys even come from?!”
Seeing those barbarians looking so fierce, he wouldn’t hold back in the slightest. “Kill!”
Gritting his teeth, he compressed the formless sword qi within a chi and a half around him. A sword light burst from the tip of his sword. His entire being, sharp like a sword, crashed into the barbarian commander.
The commander gathered his qi and threw a punch. “Die!”
Then, blood splattered and a corpse hit the ground. The slash was smooth as a mirror.
A guard shouted loudly, “Quick! He’s here—”
A sword light flashed, and a head hit the ground.
The gruesome scene didn’t stop the remaining few barbarians from charging forward. Though terrified, years of brainwashing had done its work.
“Kill him!”
“The hall master has ordered it. Kill on sight!”
The sword light flashed again. Gu Han vanished into the distance, leaving behind only pools of blood and severed limbs.
In just a short while, he encountered wave after wave of barbarians. Some as few as just a few, others as many as dozens. Through unfortunate coincidence, they always managed to find his trail.
“I see him!”
“He went east!”
“Quick, send a message. Stop him!”
The demoness finally realized something was wrong. “This isn’t right! How did you keep running into them no matter which direction you go? This is just too unlucky!”
Gu Han’s mouth twitched as he was a bit sensitive to that word now.
Suddenly, the demoness seemed to think of something and turned pale. “Could the curse have not been lifted yet?”
Curse power brought upon disaster, which matched Gu Han’s predicament perfectly. In truth, the reason he was so easily discovered wasn’t just because of the curse power. Among a crowd of tall, rough-featured barbarians, he was like a bright star in the night sky. It couldn’t even be called conspicuous anymore. Any living person could spot him.
Just then, dozens of surges of vital qi rose from the side. It was a squad of guards patrolling the area that, by sheer coincidence, discovered Gu Han.
The leading commander shouted at the top of his lungs, pouring in his cultivation, “Quick! He’s here! This guy’s tough, everyone be careful! Hold him off first. Wait for reinforcements to arrive!”
Several dozen of qi fused into one and charged toward Gu Han with overwhelming force.
Gu Han cursed inwardly again, Fuck! Will this ever end?!
After being hunted and chased for so long, he was furious.
With a fierce shout, his cultivation operated at full power. “Kill!”
Under the compressed sword qi, he was like a human-shaped sword. He reached the commander and pierced straight through him in a flash. Amid a series of screams, the powerful surge of energy collapsed.
Moments later, Gu Han swept his sword, pointing it at the brow of the only survivor: the severely wounded commander.
Given the current situation, he had to first figure out what was going on, then devise an escape plan. “I ask, you answer.”
With defiance, the commander stared fixedly at Gu Han, not saying a word. The sword light extended gently, cutting into his flesh.
Under the threat of death, his defiance instantly crumbled. “I-I’ll talk!”
Thus, he told Gu Han everything he knew in full detail. A fight to the death, everyone mobilized, a kill order. Gu Han fell silent for a moment. He hadn’t expected that everyone would go this far to save him, even risking a fight to the death with the barbarians.
Thinking Gu Han was distracted, the commander’s vital qi surged as he prepared to strike at the demoness. However, the sword light extended and pierced straight through his brow.
Unfortunately, after a brief respite, surges of vital qi began rising from all directions once more. Then, a few hundred barbarians appeared within sight. Most were War God Hall guards, while the minority were from various tribes. About five or six of them were Half-Step Transcendent realm experts.
With a howl, they surrounded the two.
“Kill!”
“Slaughter him!”
“Attack together! Don’t let them escape!”
The demoness’ eyes showed a trace of worry. “At this rate, there will only be more and more barbarians.”
Of course, Gu Han wasn’t afraid of a few hundred barbarians. Even so, no matter how strong he was, he would eventually be overwhelmed if more came. Then, the barbarians could just send any experts to keep him occupied until he was surrounded by an endless sea of people.
“Hang on tight.” Gu Han expressionlessly crushed over ten pill bottles and swallowed all the pills. Immediately, a terrifying spirit pressure rose from him. “Since there’s no way out, I will just make one.”
Before his voice faded, his sword qi rapidly compressed, vaguely taking the shape of a sword. He charged into the tide of barbarians, leaving a hint of sharpness where he stood.
One side fought fearlessly, while the other pressed forward without hesitation. The place was reduced into a slaughterhouse within moments. With speed, immense killing power, and the Indestructible Sword Physique to rely on, Gu Han was the bane of the barbarian tribes.
The speed of his sword light was unrivaled. He was like a warrior entering an unguarded territory. Not a single barbarian could stop him. Blood splattered endlessly, staining his vision and sword qi red. In just a short while, he was about to completely break through the encirclement.
The Half-Step Transcendent realm barbarians were both shocked and furious.
“You’re trying to leave?”
“Your hands are stained with our tribe’s blood. You must pay with your life!”
These few knew Gu Han was formidable, so they didn’t dare face him alone. Their qi surged, combining at one point. They blocked Gu Han’s path and struck together. Then, an ocean-like vital qi force pressed down. Even the sword qi around Gu Han visibly twisted a little.
The red on his sword qi deepened as it compressed down another cun. “Kill!”
In the flash of a spark, Gu Han tore through the blockade of their vital qi. Once again, he transformed into a rainbow light and disappeared into the distance.
On the field, the six exchanged a glance. Countless dense bloodlines appeared on them. The next moment, they crumbled, falling to the ground as countless pieces of shredded flesh.
