Chapter 351 - You Say Where to Go, We’ll Go There
With a flicker of killing intent, Feng Xi stared at the rows upon rows of barbarians blocking her path. She was about to activate her secret art again and break through.
Just then, Elder Cen landed beside her. “Feng Kid, your injuries haven’t healed yet. You absolutely cannot recklessly use the Divine Flame again!”
Feng Xi shook her head. “He’s in great danger. I have to go find him.”
Elder Cen let out a soft sigh. “The Northern Domain is so big. You alone—”
“I have to find him regardless!”
“Understood. Go where you want. I will block these people off for you!” Elder Cen also knew he couldn’t persuade her and nodded. He shouted fiercely, his aura surging to its peak, “Break!”
An invisible, terrifying pressure descended, crushing barbarians with slightly weaker cultivation into blood mist. It also scattered those with stronger cultivation, clearing Feng Xi’s path.
A phoenix cry rang out, and a red flame rose from Feng Xi. She transformed into a heavenly phoenix projection and charged out before the gap could be sealed.
Even though Elder Cen was a former Saint realm cultivator, his complexion turned somewhat pale after holding off so many barbarians at once.
Just then, a series of cursing and grumbling voices drifted over. “Aah! Get out of my way! I will fucking kill you all!”
Fatty broke through from the rear, bursting out through the gap that had yet to close. Where the golden light passed, the barbarians’ qi scattered one after another. Those who collided with him suffered broken tendons and cracked bones, retreating one after another.
Fatty also charged straight through the gap before it completely closed.
Elder Cen trembled with anger. “What business do you have joining the commotion?! With your meager cultivation, going there is just seeking death!”
The deeper one went, the more barbarians one would encounter.
Fatty’s voice drifted over faintly. “Old Cen, don’t worry! My defense is second in the world. Below the Saint realm, no one can—damn it, move aside! All of you move aside! I will fucking ram you to death, believe it or not...”
The voice grew fainter, gradually becoming barely audible.
Sighing softly, Elder Cen bellowed, “Great Flame Border Army, follow me, kill our way in!”
“Kill!”
“Kill!”
The border army roared in unison and charged forward.
***
The Great Lu Mountains stretched a full tens of thousands of li in length. Although it could not compare to the Wild Forest, it was still a rather famous place in the Northern Domain.
Legend had it that countless years ago, a supreme great demon fell from beyond the heavens, their remains turning into the mountain range. No one knew whether the legend was true, but the demonic beasts in these mountains far outnumber those in the Wild Forest.
Though Gu Han knew none of these things, he knew better than anyone that the further east he went, the more barbarians there were. Add to that the curse power, and he feared he wouldn’t even make it half the distance before being surrounded by tens of thousands of barbarian tribes, worn down to death.
Moreover, after repeated battles, his injuries never stopped accumulating. He was exhausted. The demoness was growing increasingly weaker as well.
Finally, he took shelter in an unremarkable cave on the outskirts of the mountains.
He sighed softly as he looked at the demoness, whose eyes had lost their luster. “Are you stupid? Do you really not want to live anymore?”
The demoness hugged him again, a trace of confusion flashing in her eyes. “What about you? I’m a demoness, a profound yin heavenly demon who has designs on you. Yet even from within the secret realm, you’ve saved me time and time again. What’s the reason for that?”
Gu Han wanted to say it was a coincidence, but felt that excuse was very weak.
“There’s no need to explain.” The demoness looked up at him and chuckled softly. “Did you forget? I’m a Heavenly Demon, able to see into people’s hearts. From the moment you knew I was Mo Chenyin, your heart was in turmoil, wasn’t it?”
Gu Han’s face darkened as he produced the Soul-Harvesting Fruit and the Blood Sea Nether Grass. “Turmoil my ass, take it quickly!”
The demoness shook her head. “No. These things are of little use to me—”
Gu Han suddenly reached out and grabbed her chin. The spirit herbs transformed into two streams of spirit liquid, vanishing into her mouth.
Whether he forgot or it was something else, his hand didn’t leave her chin even after the deed was done. The demoness was the same. She stared at him as if in a daze. Her red lips were like fire, stirring the heartstrings.
Suddenly, an angry roar came from outside the cave. Gu Han’s heart jolted, and he quickly let go. With a sweep of divine sense, he saw that a Tier 2 demonic beast had appeared outside the cave, its eyes filled with both caution and grievance.
This cave actually belonged to it, but it instinctively felt Gu Han wasn’t to be trifled with, so it probed first. Gu Han’s faint killing intent came over. The demonic beast whimpered twice and immediately tucked its tail and fled.
The appearance of the demonic beast had perfectly resolved Gu Han’s embarrassment.
The demoness sighed softly, her tone somewhat plaintive. “So close to succeeding...”
Feeling the lingering softness on his fingertips, he forcefully suppressed the amorous feeling, his face turning red. “How do you feel?”
The demoness shook her head. “It’s no use. You wasted two half-saint herbs for nothing.”
For an ordinary cultivator, taking two top-grade half-saint herbs would probably multiply their soul power a few times over. As for the demoness, it only added a bit more luster to her eyes. It seemed, as she said, these things weren’t very effective on her.
Gu Han’s brow furrowed deeply. He was about to ask again when he saw her red lips pursing once more.
The demoness gently leaned close to his ear. “Shall we continue?”
Gu Han panicked, his face darkened. Continue what?! What continue?! I was healing my injuries!
He was about to push her away when a faint sound of conversation drifted into the cave.
“There was movement here just now!”
“Go check it out. See if anything’s unusual!”
“We’ve searched everywhere but can’t find him. He must have hidden in the Great Lu Mountains!”
“We must find him first!”
As the voices grew closer, threads of qi fell within Gu Han’s perception.
His expression turned serious. “They’re here! They’re pretty fast!”
With that strange curse power clinging to him, he wasn’t surprised that the barbarians could find him. W In fact, even if he hadn’t killed that demonic beast, some other accident would still have led these barbarians to his door.
The demoness set aside her teasing thoughts and sighed softly. “What do we do? They’ve come again.”
“Then we kill them!”
“But you won’t last like this.”
Gu Han took a deep breath. “Oh, I will even if it kills me!”
He went outside, coming face to face with the dozen or so barbarians not far away. Their levels were uneven because they came from a small tribe. The highest was at the Heavenly Tribulation realm, while the lowest only at the Divine Connection realm.
Upon spotting Gu Han, the leading barbarian was overjoyed. “That’s him! Quick, catch—”
A flash of light suddenly streaked past. He froze, and his head instantly tumbled down. These people were no match for Gu Han at all. As his sword light rose and fell, he killed them one by one in the blink of an eye.
The last barbarian was scared out of his wits. “S-spare me, I wouldn’t dare...”
Gu Han shook his head. “Too late.”
A flash of sword light took his life.
Chi Yao’s request wouldn’t stop him from killing these barbarians, nor would he disregard the former hall master’s entrustment simply because they wanted to kill him. Favor was favor, resentment was resentment. He kept them very clear.
