Supreme Warrior in the City

Ye Wantong’s power was almost completely exhausted. Fighting these three Guardian Gods, she was at an absolute disadvantage and practically had no strength left to fight back.

If things went on like this, it was only a matter of time before she lost.

Ye Wantong’s expression was cold and stern. She understood exactly what these people were thinking. These three Guardian Gods could have easily killed her. The reason they surrounded but did not kill was because they wanted to capture her alive. How could Ye Wantong let them get their way?

Ye Wantong had already made up her mind: once she truly couldn’t hold on anymore, she would self-detonate and die, never allowing these people to use her to threaten Su Yang.

In fact, these three Guardian Gods had been staring fixedly at Ye Wantong the whole time. The order they’d received was that no matter what, they had to capture her alive, so that they could use Ye Wantong to threaten Su Yang. If Ye Wantong died, wouldn’t all their efforts be for nothing?

The strength of these three Guardian Gods was actually far greater than what they had shown. They had been hiding their true power all along precisely to guard against Ye Wantong’s self-detonation. As long as she showed the slightest sign of detonating herself, they would immediately strike and restrain her; once that happened, their mission would be complete.

The fierce battle continued for a while longer. Ye Wantong took several more hits, and the power in her body was further drained. She basically no longer had the strength to keep fighting.

Looking at the chaos all around, at those panic-stricken people, Ye Wantong felt a bit of despair in her heart. She knew that at this point she had completely lost any chance of breaking out. If she kept fighting, she would inevitably be captured by these three, and she absolutely could not let Su Yang be distracted because of her.

She glanced at the people nearby, took a deep breath, and suddenly circulated the power left in her body, preparing to forcefully self-detonate.

Seeing Ye Wantong’s movement, the three Guardian Gods immediately understood what she intended to do. Their reaction was extremely fast; just as Ye Wantong finished gathering her power, the three of them struck out at once.

All three blasted out a beam of white light. The three beams converged, directly imprisoning Ye Wantong within them. Imprisoned along with her was the power inside her body.

If Ye Wantong had done this earlier, when she still had a lot of power left, it wouldn’t have been so easy for these three Guardian Gods to seal her power. But now the power remaining in her body was far too little. With the three Guardian Gods striking with all their strength, they could seal her power completely, leaving her without even the slightest ability to resist.

Ye Wantong’s face changed drastically. She had never imagined that these three Guardian Gods had still been hiding their strength. This time she was truly in their hands, not even able to decide her own life or death.

"You three are despicable!" Ye Wantong shouted in fury.

"Hahahaha..." One of the Guardian Gods sneered. "If we’re talking about despicable, that Su from your Human Clan is the real despicable one. All these years, he’s used one scheme after another, tricking and harming us again and again. These little tricks of ours, we learned them from him. If you want to blame someone, blame your husband!"

Ye Wantong’s face grew even uglier. She struggled several times but couldn’t break free in the slightest. These three were among the top powerhouses even within the Guardian Gods. Against one, she could at best fight to a draw. Against three, the difference in power was naturally enormous.

"Girl, stop struggling and come with us!" a Guardian God said with a cold laugh. "Come on, let’s go see how your husband treats you. Let’s see whether he’s willing to give up his own life for your sake!"

With a wave of that Guardian God’s hand, Ye Wantong was lifted into the air along with them.

"Let me go..." Ye Wantong cried out sharply. She would truly rather die than let Su Yang be threatened because of her.

The three Guardian Gods ignored her and slowly flew upward with Ye Wantong in tow.

Just then, something on Ye Wantong’s shoulder suddenly moved, and the Earth Bear, which had previously suffered grievous wounds, suddenly charged out.

"Roar!" The Earth Bear let out an angry bellow. Its body swelled again, and with a sudden surge it shattered the outermost layer of white light. Then it hoisted Ye Wantong onto its back, turned around, and bolted toward the distant sky.

The three Guardian Gods had never expected that the heavily wounded Earth Bear would still be capable of such a desperate outburst.

"Little Bear!" Ye Wantong cried in shock, her beautiful eyes brimming with tears.

She knew that the Earth Bear was doing this by burning its own origin. Maybe it could hold out for a while, but if it kept rushing like this, it would die!

The wounds on the Earth Bear’s body were continuously spraying blood, yet it did not slow in the slightest, carrying Ye Wantong as it fled madly.

The faces of the three Guardian Gods all changed, and they hurriedly gave chase.

"It’s fine. The Female Sword Saint’s power is still sealed. This bear can’t break the seal inside her body!" one Guardian God shouted. "We just have to catch up, and we can still capture her!"

"Stop that bear first!" another Guardian God roared, attacking as he spoke, launching a frenzied assault at the Earth Bear.

Sensing the power behind them, Ye Wantong turned her head and saw the attacks of the three Guardian Gods wildly surging toward them.

Her expression changed again and she shouted anxiously, "Little Bear, dodge!"

But the Earth Bear ignored her, still charging forward at full speed with Ye Wantong on its back. It could dodge, but the problem was that dodging would slow its pace, and then these three Guardian Gods would catch up.

So the Earth Bear took those blows head-on, yet its speed did not decrease in the slightest as it continued its mad dash forward.

The three Guardian Gods behind them were on the verge of going crazy. Was this Earth Bear not afraid of death?

"Kill it! Kill it!" one Guardian God roared. "I don’t believe it can last much longer!"

The three Guardian Gods chased while attacking relentlessly.

The Earth Bear endured all of these attacks. Its body was shattered again and again, its flesh nearly blasted to pieces until only a blood-red skeleton remained. Even so, the Earth Bear did not pause, still sprinting forward with Ye Wantong on its back.

Ye Wantong’s face was streaked with tears. She knew that after this, even if the Earth Bear managed to survive, it would be completely beaten back to its initial state. All of its power would be gone, and it would have to start its cultivation from scratch.

And that was the best possible outcome. Judging from the severity of the Earth Bear’s injuries, the greater likelihood was that it would fall completely, that there would never again be an Earth Bear.

Yet right now, there was nothing Ye Wantong could do.

This was the war between the Human Clan and the Guardian Gods—cruel to the extreme. No matter how unmatched you once were, no matter how lofty your status, nothing could change the outcome of this battle.

This was a war between two races, a life-and-death showdown between two races. No one would show mercy to the other side. In order to crush the enemy, any method, any tactic was fair game. There was no pity, no compassion—only by killing the other side could you ensure your own survival!
