"The one who touched this darkness was the second-ranked Heavenly Venerable among the Ancient Seven Heavenly Venerables," Buddha Venerable said. "Back when he was around, a Chaos Flower bloomed, and he personally participated in the fight for the Chaos Flower."

"At the time, there were not many strongest Guardians, and we fought them in the Chaos. The Guardian God had Heavenly Venerable, granting them some advantage in power. That Heavenly Venerable was already close to the Chaos Flower when we desperately attacked him from behind, knocking him to the roots below the Chaos Flower where he touched the darkness!"

"And then?" Su Yang quickly asked.

"Then his body was corroded by the darkness, and the part that touched the darkness dissolved instantly!" Buddha Venerable said solemnly. "Moreover, his power was severely damaged, and his strength greatly diminished. It was precisely because of this that we were able to seize the opportunity to finish him off. Otherwise, in that battle, we might have been thoroughly defeated!"

"After that incident, the strongest on both sides have been very wary of the darkness behind the Chaos Flower. Even Heavenly Venerables can’t withstand the corrosion, let alone anyone else—who would dare to casually touch that darkness?"

Su Yang frowned, not expecting such a situation. Thinking back to when he first saw the Chaos Flower, he almost prepared to explore the darkness behind it.

Buddha Venerable shook his head. "It’s hard to say. So many years have passed, and that Heavenly Venerable has been accumulating power, no one knows what his current strength is. Perhaps, he already has the power to resist that darkness. After all, besides him, there’s truly no one else with such great power!"

"That’s true!" Qi’er nodded, looking at the Chaos with frustration, "It’s really strange that the Chaos Flower has existed for so many years, yet I’ve never felt any movement inside, nor any sensation of being watched."

"Same with us!" Buddha Venerable looked at Su Yang. "Maybe there’s something special about Su Alliance Leader that attracted the presence in that darkness!"

"Something special?" Su Yang thought carefully. "Apart from having the Undying Golden Body and Undying Bone, there’s nothing else special about me!"

The three of Qi’er exchanged glances, indeed that was the case.

"No, wait!" Heaven Slayer suddenly exclaimed. "You have something special, the Earth Principle!"

"Right, right, you have the Earth Principle!" Qi’er immediately added. "That’s a special trait!"

"Could it be related to the Earth Principle?" Su Yang scratched his head, could it really be?

"It could be!" Qi’er said. "Only you heard the voice, only you sensed the aura inside; none of us did, which explains everything. Earlier, your Undying Golden Body was with Buddha Venerable and your Undying Bone with Heaven Slayer, and they didn’t feel anything either!"

Both Heaven Slayer and Buddha Venerable nodded, having participated in many chaos flower fights, they never had such a sensation. By that account, the only reason must be owing to the Earth Principle.

"But Wan Tong also sensed the spying feeling!" Su Yang exclaimed. "She doesn’t have the Earth Principle!"

"This..." Qi’er was momentarily at a loss, unable to explain.

"Maybe it has to do with her consuming a Chaos Flower!" Buddha Venerable suddenly said. "The Chaos Flower grows in that darkness, surely there’s a connection with the darkness."

"Is that it?" Su Yang was puzzled; this explanation seemed a bit far-fetched.

"That’s the only difference between you and us!" Buddha Venerable said helplessly. "We really can’t find any other distinction!"

Su Yang nodded; indeed, it was the only explanation.

"The most pressing issue now is, who exactly are the people inside the darkness!" Heaven Slayer suddenly said. "Moreover, there was more than one voice, indicating several people inside. These people, judging by their conversations, clearly lean towards the Guardian God’s side, meaning they are our enemies. Such powerful enemies, we know nothing about them, which poses a very serious risk!"

Qi’er and Buddha Venerable both nodded; this was the most crucial issue. If the ones in the dark side with the Human Clan, there would be no need to worry. But if they clearly lean towards the Guardian God, concern becomes unavoidable.

Su Yang pondered for a while, then said solemnly, "No matter what, we should first find this area of darkness!"

"Isn’t that hard to find?" Buddha Venerable asked. "This darkness only appears when the Chaos Flower blooms. If the Chaos Flower hasn’t bloomed, the darkness might not appear at all!"

"Not necessarily!" Su Yang shook his head. "I believe this darkness won’t just vanish into thin air, especially since a few strong individuals are hiding inside. It hasn’t appeared for a while because it’s hiding in some concealed part of the chaos. We hadn’t searched earnestly before, so it seemed unseen. If we genuinely search, we’re bound to find it!"

"How do you plan to proceed?" Buddha Venerable asked.

Su Yang looked at the distant darkness and said firmly, "Continue exploring!"

The trio of Buddha Venerable exchanged a glance, and Qi’er worriedly said, "Brother Su, venturing without knowing their position is risky!"

"The ones in darkness are extremely powerful, stronger than even Heaven Slayer. If they truly intended harm, I would’ve perished while retrieving the Chaos Flower," Su Yang laughed and said. "Even if they’re indeed allies of the Guardian God, I suspect they have reasons preventing them from emerging from the darkness, stopping them from acting against me. Pausing here, Su Yang continued, "I even suspect they’re trapped inside, unable to escape. If true, we should reinforce the seal to prevent their exit. Otherwise, if we engage in battle with the Guardian God and they emerge, wouldn’t we be doomed?"

"Precisely said!" Buddha Venerable nodded. "With no apparent danger now, it’s the perfect opportunity to investigate this matter!"
