Surprise Hotel
Chapter 255 - Change of Attitude
Olsen looked frightened, and a hint of despair flashed in his icy eyes.
The sudden appearance of another figure, however, caused that despair to be quickly dispelled.
Sliding over against the ice on the floor, Lü Torture threw out a freeze capsule, exploding a purple mist with precision on the man holding the knife.
The effect of the drug was instantaneous, and the man's knife hung just two centimeters above Olsen's head.
Luthor slid closer and quickly swung the man's hand away, then violently kicked him into the frozen crowd, then a concentrated stun potion was thrown out to create a small blockage of movement, then a freeze capsule was thrown out and the glacial prison formed in the blink of an eye, trapping all the black witches in that gap between it.
Unlike the magical effects brought about by communicating the oracle with a spell, his potion did not require mental support, nor did it reduce the effects of magic due to weakened physical strength.
He quickly sealed all the gaps with the freeze capsule before turning to Olsen with a sigh of relief.
"Chief, are you okay?"
Olsen had never expected that the one who saved her would be this F-class scrap who was usually the least despised by her.
Was he really a scrap?
Nope. She had seen the effects of those ice layers with her own eyes, and in terms of range, strength, and speed of formation, they were not at all inferior to the freezing effects that she, an S-rank, had unleashed.
"Why did you save me?" Olsen asked Lu Torture.
"Of course I can't see death, the academy can't do without a teaching director." Lü Torture smiled, looking over Olsen's body before finding those shocking injuries, "Director, you're badly hurt."
Olsen looked down, but the first thing he saw was not his own injuries, but the large expanses of snowy white skin that were exposed by the cuts in his clothes.
"No looking around!" She was shy with a bit of anger in her shyness.
"I'm not looking where I shouldn't, I'm just saying you're badly injured ...... "Lu Zheng turned around, "Alright, alright, I'm just not looking."
Olsen blushed and casually waved a layer of ice around his body, creating a frosty armor.
"It's okay, just turn around." It was the first time she'd ever been looked at by a man so much.
"Huh? So I've really turned around?" Lü Zheng carefully turned around and ended up seeing that cool ice armor, when he immediately exclaimed, "This equipment is so cool! But aren't you cold, Director?"
"I'm already an ice body and the low temperature helps me heal." Olsen replied, "Thank you ...... for what you just did."
Although no smile surfaced on that frosty cold face, Lu Zheng could hear a trace of warmth in his tone.
It was really hard!
This woman has changed her mind about herself!
He cheered inside.
"How are things on your side?" Yuan Ling led Xano through the space barrier and into the interior, "We're trapped, all the black witches outside are phantoms!"
"I already know, this side just finished ......" sighed Olsen.
"Luthor? Did you get here so fast?" Xano asked in shock.
"It was an emergency, of course I had to go fast, it's a good thing I got here in time or ......" he looked at Olsen, but before he could say the next part of his sentence he was scared back by an icy glare from the strong woman. "What, haven't you told them about the cards?"
"I've been out with the Genin fending off the invasion before I came in." Xano said, "Where's the professor?"
"The professor is still in the room!" Something dawned on Olsen.
Just because the gaps were all blocked didn't mean that the Black Witch would retreat, besides destroying those ice walls, they would definitely find another entrance.
And the nearest entrance was the window of the ...... Headmaster's Office!
The three of them hurriedly pushed through the door and rushed in, and sure enough by this time Professor Augusta was exhausted.
He set the teleportation portal directly in the window, and those black witches who broke in were sent directly to other spaces.
However, supporting this teleportation portal required a lot of mental energy, the old professor was old, plus he had already expended a lot of energy dealing with the tide of spirit beasts in the back mountain trial session, at this time he was obviously a bit weak.
"Professor, let's help you!" Olsen tried to build up the ice at the window, but she was also very weak at this point, and that ice was breached before it was fully established.
"Let me do it, it's the only way to do it now!" Genling clenched her fists and launched her spatial ability to create a solid defensive barrier around the entire office.
This was the same ability she had learned from coming to mimic the technological barriers in the waste world, and she had used it this way when she had trapped everyone in the Alliance headquarters during the previous storming.
Such a sudden appearance of the barrier in this world seemed a bit of a mess to enter.
The enemies were wizards, and it was unclear if the damage they created would be stronger than high-tech weapons, so the Genin had built another impenetrable layer of alloy beyond that defensive barrier.
Of course, the only consequence of this strength being modified out of thin air was ...... fainting.
After she completed the construction of the barrier, her entire body fainted on the spot.
"Elemental Spirit!" Xano held her in his arms.
The space was finally quiet, those who had broken in were all teleported away by the professor, and those outside were unable to break in even if they were strong.
The professor was also finally able to catch his breath, collecting his mental energy and slumping in his chair.
"Is she alright?" Olsen asked worriedly.
"It's not much of a problem, it's just that the ability backfired and she fainted. She'll go into self-hibernation, and will naturally wake up when she's rested." Shano replied.
"What a strange body." Olsen frowned, "But thankfully, the invasion was blocked. The original plan was for her to have a greater role, but it seems she can't be counted on to help with anything else for a while."
"The Black Witch Council was after the 'contraption' right?" Shano asked, "At this point in time, I think you should trust us to tell us what is 'forbidden'."
"The so-called 'taboo' is actually nothing more than a secret. The secret started a few years ago ......" the chair's Professor Augusta said slowly, "Since a long time ago, the academy and the Black Wizard Society have been at loggerheads, so the academy sent people to secretly keep an eye on the Black Wizard Society's movements. Our people noticed that they were moving around the Arctic Circle a lot and seemed to be looking for something, so we sent a team of executive commissioners to intercept them. Our men proceeded to wipe out the group of Black Wizards as they began digging, and then found a bronze coffin halfway through the excavation of the hole that was locked with twelve chains inscribed with spell marks ......"
