Survival in Another World With My Master

Episode 156: Establishment of an Exploration Base and Joint Research with Isla

Now that I've arrived at my destination, I've decided to quickly create a base for my stay here. After all, it is a high floor style with peace of mind and trust when it comes to the base. Whether they attack or not, they don't have to be afraid to attack if they have a base at a height they can't reach. This is not going to be any safer.

In that sense, underground bases where enemies cannot recognize us in the first place are also safe. The underground base feels really oppressive or blocked... I prefer the high-floor base to the underground base. It has a sense of openness.

We are now in the process of recovering the debris around us and recycling it to build a pillar.

"Koske, didn't you say you were going to make a field?

"I told you."

"Are you sure you want a high-floor hub?

"No problem."

Holding herself to Isla tilting her neck, she proceeded with the work. When I put up the pillars, it was the foundation. It can be said that the platform is as original as it is.

"Wide"

"Ah, Isla, Harpy and I have Grande, as well as Miss Zamir and Schmel, right? If we're going to make a place for everyone, it's going to be a lot bigger. Besides, it's nice to have a sense of openness when it's wide."

It's a big platform of 80m by 80m. Is it a little smaller in area than the soccer ground? It's big enough to create our living space.

First, we built a cafeteria in the middle where everyone can eat out. Next to the cafeteria, there is a large house where Grande stays with me, Isla, and Harpy on the west side, and a house where Ms Zamir and Schmel live on the east side. Even though it's a house, it has a bed, a writing desk, a chair, and a little storage where you can stretch out and fall asleep.

The central cafeteria has not only a large table and chairs, but also a cushioned space, a thick carpeted space for sleeping, and a wooden bench and low table. The dining room, or the living dining room.

Then there's the water and the bath.

"The water field is to the east and west, and the bath is to the north."

"So, you want to take the south side to the field?"

"Nh"

I'm used to the work around here, so I'm going to make it crisp. Collected stone is not enough, so brick blocks from Arihiburg are also used together. I also make three toilets for each of the east and west. It was washed with an infinite water source so that it could be stored in a tank made at the bottom of the platform. I regularly plan to store and dispose of it in the inventory of each tank. If we put each tank in the inventory, we can dismantle it as it is!

And if you put a farmland block on the south side, surround the area with brick blocks and plant seeds, the base will be complete. The crops to be planted are mainly tomato-like and lettuce-like crops, which are relatively consumed in vegetables. Grande eats a lot of hamburgers, so I spend a lot of money... well, tomatoes are a lot of use, and if you use lettuce for salads, it's good because you can use it almost anything. Plant other vegetables appropriately.

Me and someone other than Isla are investigating the ruins. Whether or not there is an underground facility, whether or not there is anything useful, and whether or not there is an entrance to the basement.

"We'll still have time for everybody to come back, and we'll develop it."

"Development?"

Ira, sitting on a bench in the dining room, leans her head tightly.

"Don't rely on the Grande for high-speed transportation. I want to build something that can run through rough terraces that are difficult for carriages to pass."

"That sounds fun. Do you have an idea?

"It's never happened....."

That's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna take my notebook out of the inventory and show you a sketch of a two-wheeler. Even though it's a sketch, it's really easy because I don't have a lot of pictures.

"These vehicles were used in my world. When you twist this handle, one of the engines generates power and moves this wheel."

"Hmm... it looks like we could build an engine instead of a golem. However, this seems to be very difficult to manufacture and maintain due to the large number of parts."

"That's it, isn't it? Basically, this vehicle was developed after we were able to mass-produce bullets for bolt action rifles. In this world, I'm probably the only one who can make parts, so even if I do, it's just like any other weapon or something in my world, and it's hard to use in this world."

"Nh. But the idea is interesting. Typically, a ride is a carriage or a horse. After that, riding animals can ride like horses. This vehicle, Koske says, does not depend on animals, but allows them to move on their own by generating power. This is very reasonable."

"When you let animals carry you, you have to load the food and water of the animals that carry the vehicle."

Ira nodded heavily at my words. [M]

"Yes, but if we don't rely on animals for power, we'll start packing that much. This is very convenient for both trade and military purposes."

"Let's put the issue of cost aside. In other words, I think it would be a golem if it were a power other than animals, and the cost of moving it would be magic."

"Nh, that's what happens. With magic as the power, there are magic stones that can be removed from monsters, magic crystals that have been processed, and magic crystals that are manufactured in the rear base. None of this is so difficult to procure now."

Magic Stones and Crystals are supplied by adventurers and Liberation Army soldiers who crush monsters every day, and Magic Crystals are increasingly being manufactured in rear bases. It is a promotional method that materializes the magic overflowing with exhaustion.

Well then, think about the specific specifications. How much performance do you want? "

"Nh. First, the ability to run rough ground."

I see. It's the purpose in the first place. The next point is faster than a carriage. "

"How many people are available?

"Let's think of at least two, at most six."

"How much baggage do you have?

"In the meantime, in the same direction as a double-headed carriage."

"Then you have to think about it as wide and long as a double-headed carriage."

I see. If it's too wide, it can't be used on existing streets. "

In this way, I shared my opinions with Isla and decided on the specifications.

Has irregular ground breaking capability.

Power uses magic.

The number of people appearing is from two to six.

The loading capacity and size shall be the same as that of a two-headed carriage.

This is the place.

"Yeah, well, let's start with the ability to run rough."

"Why, in the first place, does a carriage not have the ability to form an unauthorized formation? Let's think about that."

"Nh. If it's rough ground, the wheels will be buried, the axles will break, or the wheels will come off."

"In other words, vulnerability around the feet is a problem. To solve this… make it a fragile material?

"Iron? Things get very heavy. When it gets heavy, it gets buried on the ground and can't move properly. How did you end up in Koske's world?

"Ah, the wheels are thick, covered with soft, elastic material, the axles are also made of metal, and the mechanism to minimize friction is incorporated into the axles... so in this direction, don't hit the same problem as the two-wheeler I sketched."

"Nh, that's what happens. So I think we need to change our minds a lot."

"Hmm, change your mind... don't you want to touch the ground in the first place?

"What do you mean? A flying vehicle?

"No, you don't have to fly that far. If you don't come into contact with the ground, you won't be affected by the ground if you get about 20cm or 30cm, right? You think you can float a plate about the size of a carriage and move forward with the magic of the wind or something? It's like a boat running ashore."

Hovercraft is in my head. That way you can run on the flats, in the wilderness, in the marshes and on the rivers. It may not be a good place to drive in a very uneven place, but what about a magical world?

"There is a magic called levitation. It's just magic enough to float things, and it's not very useful. Things can float, but that magic doesn't move them. Helpful enough to move heavy objects."

"Well, there is good magic. Then why don't you put some magical wind magic on it and give it propulsion?

"Nh... but this magic is hard to balance. It's easy to tilt what you float and doesn't have the effect of automatically returning it."

"Hmm, can you adjust the height?

"I can adjust with my magic amount. It's easy to move up and down."

"Then why don't you just keep the levitation magic tool and the Golem's eye on the square of the board and control it with the Golem core so that the distance from the ground is constant with the square? If it is too far from the ground, I will reduce the magic power supplied to the magic equipment, and if it is too close, I will increase the magic power. I wonder if that would help us maintain some balance."

If the magic of the retention is unable to detect and correct the tilt, I think we can handle it by using the Golem to control it. The problem is with the brakes, but the wind is spraying in the opposite direction of travel, and maybe we have to force ground it... well, it's a vehicle for rough driving in the first place, and maybe we don't need that much braking.

"Nh... I can't tell you unless you try."

"Let's build a lab first. It's small."

"Nh, experiments are important."

That's why Isla and I decided to experiment with a wooden plank the size of a cushion. It will be difficult for me and Isla to develop it alone, but I think it would be a good idea to try a lot.

Ultimately, I would definitely like to make something airbike. Airbikes and airboards are a man's romance.
