Chapter 587: Flowers
She spun backward, blood blooming in front of her as a circular whip shadow unfolded like a flower—【Flower Burial】.
Within twenty meters, the dark red whip shadows spread outwards and inwards simultaneously, like a blooming blood-red flower, enveloping her figure in the heart of the flower.
A golden ripple spread beneath Lin Feng's feet as his Sky Chasing Boots pounded through the void, his figure weaving through the gaps in the whip's shadow.
The whip tip grazed his armor several times, the closest one coming within three inches of his throat, yet it couldn't even touch a single hair on his head.
"Impressive footwork. Dodging like this isn't heroic."
Zanghua looked up, her eyes crinkling with laughter, as if she were genuinely praising him.
She flicked her wrist again, and the blood-red whip shot upwards, suddenly scattering into dozens of thin lines that poured down on Lin Feng's head like dark red raindrops—【Thousand Threads】.
The dozens of whip shadows floated and fell in the air, like a spider web torn by the wind, enveloping Lin Feng's entire area.
Lin Feng looked up and didn't take the hit head-on. Golden light flashed beneath his feet as he activated 【Meteor Flash】. His figure disappeared from the area covered by the Thousand Silks and reappeared three meters behind the Burial Flower, slashing horizontally with his spear.
Zanghua had already sensed it. She twisted her waist, retracted the blood bloom, and coiled the whip like a snake in front of her to block the spear.
But the force of that shot far exceeded her expectations; the whip was pressed inward, and the tip of the spear almost pierced through her protective shield.
She staggered back dozens of steps before finally regaining her balance, her chest heaving violently, a sickly blush rising on her cheeks: "I'm most afraid of people like you, young master, who are both fierce and taciturn."
Even so, her whip lashed out even faster.
Bloodstains traced dark red arcs in the air, sometimes like falling petals, sometimes like a venomous snake spitting its tongue, the whip carrying a faint scent of blood.
Burying Flowers is like a dancer, twirling and leaping in the air, each whip strike like a deadly dance.
Lin Feng was not in a hurry. His gun was steady, fast, and accurate, and each shot precisely blocked the long whip's path.
The two fought fiercely at an altitude of 1,000 meters, their golden and dark red colors intertwining to form a rapidly spinning spiral.
"Young master's spear technique is truly captivating, the more I watch, the more I admire it," Zanghua said with a smile as she dodged. "How about you wield the spear and I'll use the whip? We could make a perfect match!"
Lin Feng forced her whip tail back with a single shot, then replied irrelevantly, "You talk too much."
"Oh dear, I've been rejected by the young master." She acted as if nothing had happened, spun around to dodge a horizontal slash, and lashed out at Lin Feng's face with her whip.
Lin Feng dodged to the side, and the Wildfire Spear followed the momentum of the whip, its tip pointing directly at her wrist.
Burying Flowers loosened her grip, and Blood Blossom flew out of her hand. Surprisingly, it didn't fall, but instead circled in the air like a living thing before striking Lin Feng from behind on the back of the head.
As if Lin Feng had eyes in the back of his head, he lowered his head forward, and the long whip grazed the top of his head, the resulting wind pressure cutting off several strands of black hair.
He charged forward, the gun slamming into the waist of the woman who was buried in the flower.
Zanghua lightly touched the air with her toes, and her whole body floated upwards like a leaf, avoiding the gunshot.
As she rose, she raised her hand and beckoned, and blood, like snakes returning to their nests, coiled back around her wrist.
"What a close call! I almost became a victim of your gun, young master."
She smiled, but her attacks became increasingly fierce.
【Falling Petals】, 【Flower Burial】, and 【Thousand Threads】 were used in turn, and dark red whip shadows filled the air.
Lin Feng moved through the whip's shadows like a dragon swimming in the sea, occasionally raising his spear to parry, which would produce a dense burst of sparks.
Once again, 【Thousand Threads】 fell, and Lin Feng's Sky-Chasing Boots flashed with light. 【Meteor Flash】 was activated, and he passed through the whip shadows like a golden lightning bolt, rushing straight towards Zang Hua.
"Young master!" Her pupils finally contracted slightly.
Lin Feng's spear had already struck down, this strike carrying the double damage amplification of 【Windwalking Combo】 and 【Glory】. The golden spear light cleaved through the clouds like lightning, landing directly on her shoulder.
boom!
Zanghua was thrown from a height of a thousand meters by the gunshot, her moon-white skirt fluttering in the wind like a flower torn apart by a storm.
She fell over a hundred meters before finally regaining her balance, a trickle of blood escaping from the corner of her mouth.
"Young master... you really show no mercy at all..." She raised her head and looked at the golden figure above from a distance of over a hundred meters. Her voice was so soft that it was almost inaudible, but it still carried a smile.
Just then, in the distance, Night Shadow's shouts echoed like thunder across the battlefield.
"All sect disciples, listen to my command: retreat!"
The more than four hundred grandmasters felt as if they had been granted a pardon, and they desperately forced back their opponents, transforming into streaks of blood-red light as they fled wildly toward the teleportation portal.
Zanghua glanced back at the dark red light screen, then looked at Lin Feng, and suddenly smiled even more charmingly, even winking at him.
"My lord, I must take my leave now. Please be kind to me next time we meet."
She flicked the Blood Blossom, using the momentum to swing, and her moon-white figure shot towards the teleportation portal like a petal blown away by the wind, instantly disappearing into the dark red light curtain.
Lin Feng did not give chase.
He slowly descended onto the open field, watching the last figure of the Blood Abyss Demon Sect disappear into the teleportation portal.
The blood mist had not yet dissipated, and the air still held a strong stench of blood and a faint floral fragrance. He sheathed the Wildfire Spear; the blood on the tip had long since dried, leaving only a few dark red marks.
Beneath their feet lay a battlefield strewn with corpses; the land a hundred miles north of Hangu Pass was soaked in blood, a scene of utter devastation.
A moment later, three figures swept in from a distance and landed beside Lin Feng.
Jiang Zhaoyue's forehead was covered in sweat, clearly indicating that her fight with Chongshan was not easy, but her first words when she landed next to Lin Feng were still: "Aren't we going to chase them? They just retreated. If we chase after them now, at least we can keep up with the rear."
Her hand remained on the Silver Moon Spear, her gaze fixed on the still-fluctuating dark red light curtain to the north.
Jiang Yelan remained silent, simply watching Lin Feng and waiting for him to speak.
Zhou Guosheng took a few deep breaths; the light on the golden longsword had dimmed considerably.
He sheathed his sword and said in a deep voice, "The situation on the other side of the teleportation portal is unclear. It is not advisable to follow rashly. We should send scouts to find out the truth before making a decision."
Lin Feng nodded: "Whether to pursue or not, we'll decide after the reconnaissance is back. The most urgent task is to count the casualties and clean up the battlefield. We'll meet in the council hall in one hour."
"Understood." Jiang Zhaoyue sheathed her spear, turned, and flew towards Hangu Pass.
"I'll go tally the casualties," Jiang Yelan replied briefly, his figure transforming into a shadow and disappearing from the spot.
"I'll arrange the reconnaissance," Zhou Guosheng said, then turned and left.
Lin Feng stood alone in front of the teleportation gate, with a battlefield strewn with corpses behind him and a curtain of light surging like a sea of blood in front of him.
He glanced one last time at the depths of the light screen, then turned and flew towards Hangu Pass.
