Chapter 606: Battle (Part 2)
But in that instant of distraction, the captain in front of him suddenly retreated instead of advancing, and rushed into his arms like a madman.
The halberd thrust diagonally, aiming straight for his heart, and at the same time, a huge gap was exposed in the captain's chest.
"court death!"
The grandmaster sneered, his blood-red blade slashing horizontally. The blade light was like a red crescent moon, aimed straight at the captain's neck. At this speed, the blade would fall first.
But the captain neither dodged nor avoided it.
The moment the blade struck, he merely turned slightly to the side, allowing it to land on his shoulder.
The sound of bones cracking rang out, and blood gushed out like a fountain, but he continued to charge forward, the tip of his halberd plunging three inches below the master's left chest with a "thud".
"Well!"
The master cried out in pain and kicked the captain away.
The captain's shoulder was almost split open, and his entire left arm hung limply at his sides.
But he only swayed for a moment before stopping, and a slow smile spread across his blood-covered face, as if to say it was worth it.
"Madman!" The grandmaster exclaimed in shock and rage, clutching his chest wound. "Damn madman!"
He originally thought the Blood Puppet was crazy enough, but this captain from the Nightmare Plane dared to trade injury for injury and life for life.
What's going on with these people? Are they all puppets too?
For the next ten minutes or so, the captain was like a mad dog that wouldn't let go once it had bitten him.
If his shoulder was injured, he would wield the halberd with one hand; if he was stabbed in the leg, he would fight with one leg bent.
Every time the master's blade struck him, it would create a cloud of blood mist, but he wouldn't back down. Every time he was injured, he insisted on leaving something on his opponent as well.
Thirteenth minute.
The Grandmaster finally found a fatal flaw, and with a backhand slash from the bottom lane, the tip of the blade pierced through the captain's abdomen and exited from his lower back.
The captain's body stiffened, and he spat out a mouthful of blood, but he did not immediately fall down.
He raised his head, revealing his bloody teeth, and smiled at the grandmaster. There was no pain in that smile, only cold mockery.
Then, with his last breath, he punched the old wound on the grandmaster's chest.
"ah!"
The grandmaster screamed, the knife slipped from his hand, and he staggered backward. The captain also threw his halberd, the blade grazing the grandmaster's neck and slicing off a piece of flesh.
The captain finally collapsed, falling from the sky like a torn purple flag.
The master clutched his neck, blood gushing from between his fingers. He gasped for breath, his whole body trembling. His health bar had less than 30% remaining.
"Madmen... They're all madmen... Everyone in this plane is fucking mad!"
He cursed and turned around, trying to retreat, but as soon as he turned around, two ice-winged griffins blocked his way.
Two commanders of a thousand rode on the backs of griffins, one on each side, their long halberds held horizontally, their gazes as cold as ice.
"In your next life, don't fight against our Beacon Fire Alliance," said the one on the left.
The two riders charged simultaneously.
The left general moved first, activating 【Sharp Arrow - Sudden Pierce】, transforming himself and the bird into a streak of purple lightning, piercing straight into the Grandmaster's heart.
The master dodged to the side and reached for the halberd shaft with his backhand. Just as his fingers touched it, the right general's halberd slammed into his back, sending him flying forward.
"It's not over yet!"
The left general's griffin suddenly tilted its head back, and 【Ice Crystal Pierce】 shot out close to his face. The grandmaster twisted his waist in mid-air and crossed his hands to block the ice crystal.
The ice crystals exploded, and both arms were covered in a thin layer of ice, slowing their movements by half a beat.
That half-beat was fatal.
The right general swooped down from above, 【Dive Tear】 pressing down with the full force of the griffin, the halberd piercing through the grandmaster's left shoulder and exiting through his right waist, pinning him in mid-air.
The master opened his mouth, but only spat out a string of blood bubbles.
"You...you all...are all..." He didn't finish speaking before his eyes went completely dark.
"Remember, the one who killed you was Zhang Kui, the commander of a thousand men in the Beacon Fire Command," the right general whispered.
He suddenly drew his halberd, and the grandmaster's corpse fell from the sky to the dark red earth like a puppet with broken strings.
"Go." Zhang Kui shook the blood off his halberd, urged his griffin, and pounced towards the next battle group.
...
Five hundred meters in the air, Paul's four golden halos stood out conspicuously in the blood mist.
Four Blood Puppet Masters stood at the four corners of his body, surrounding him in the center.
The four men had empty eyes, but their movements were surprisingly synchronized, like four puppets being pulled by the same string.
"Come on, you little rascals! Uncle Paul's in a good mood today, one axe at a time, and I'll send you home!"
He spat and twirled the Frostbear Battle Axe in his palm.
The four blood puppets did not respond, showed no anger, no sarcasm, and did not even rise or fall like their breaths.
They moved in unison, with the spear master on the east side being the first to move.
The gun shot out like a thread, its dark red tip cutting through the wind, aimed straight for Paul's throat.
Paul raised his axe to block, and the spear and axe clashed, sparks flying.
The Double Claw Master on the west side had already pressed close behind him, using the Blood Shadow Step to create afterimages, his two iron claws grabbing the back of his neck and gouging out his waist.
Without turning his head, Paul swung the axe handle backward, hitting the man's wrist squarely. He then turned around and kicked the man three meters away.
"You little brats, you just love coming from behind!"
Before he could finish speaking, the short axe master on the south side leaped into the air, a streak of blood-red light flashing from the axe blade as it cleaved straight down toward his forehead.
Paul raised his axe to parry, and the two axes collided, creating a shockwave. His arm went numb, and his feet staggered back several steps in mid-air.
Taking advantage of his unsteady balance, the karate master on the north side flipped his palms over, and two blood-red palm prints struck his ribs from the left and right.
Paul didn't have time to raise his axe; he suddenly sidestepped and barely passed between the two palm prints.
"Damn it! You rats!"
He parried and slashed left and right, his axe flashing like frost, flying back and forth between the four blood-red shadows.
But he soon realized something was wrong. These four people weren't fighting to the death. When he chased, they retreated; when he retreated, they followed.
He had only taken two steps toward the main battlefield when two attacks came from behind at the same time, forcing him to turn around.
"You little brats, trying to trap me?"
No one answered.
Four blood puppets circled around him, one attacking, one retreating, and two blocking his movement, like four wolves circling a wild boar, waiting for their prey to show signs of fatigue.
Paul finally understood.
"Puppets!" he roared. "Damn puppets! You're not living beings!"
There has been no response.
He swung his axe wildly, trying to tear open a gap. The karate master on the north side and the short axe master on the south side stepped forward at the same time. One struck with a bloody palm print, while the other used his short axe to block his Frost Bear Battle Axe.
The two forces collided, Paul took a step back, and the gap closed again.
That's their style of play, like a heartless net, tightening ever tighter, giving him no chance to escape.
"Great! Excellent!"
Paul's eyes flashed with a fierce light.
"unyielding!"
Golden light exploded from the chest armor, increasing defense by 30% and reducing all knockback and knockdown effects by 70%.
"Bear's Fury!"
The bear head relief on the Frostbear Battle Axe suddenly lit up, and the next attack would deal 50% more damage.
Paul charged straight at the spear master to the east like a raging bear.
"Take this axe strike, Armor-Shattering Slash!"
