The restaurant attendant’s expression immediately stiffened.

His gaze instinctively followed the young lady’s finger toward the table beside the window before his heart quietly sank.

Of all the tables in the restaurant...

Why did she have to choose that one?

Moments earlier, while escorting the two guests upstairs, he had politely asked for their family name so he could guide the remaining guest to their table upon arrival.

The maid had answered with only a single word.

"Xie."

At first, he had thought little of it.

However, after noticing the young woman’s refined bearing, the maid accompanying her, and the fact that the remaining guest was addressed as Young Master, he had quickly reached a conclusion.

Within the capital, there were only a handful of Xie families whose young masters possessed the status to dine at this restaurant.

There was no need to ask any further. The attendant had already guessed their identity.

The restaurant attendant remained standing where he was. His lips parted several times, yet not a single word managed to leave his mouth.

Seeing his hesitation, the young lady’s patience gradually wore thin. A faint crease appeared between her brows.

"What is wrong with you?" Her tone remained calm, yet the displeasure within it was impossible to miss. "I merely asked you to change a table."

The attendant hurriedly lowered his head. "Young Lady, this humble one..."

Before he could finish, she slightly raised a hand, stopping him. "Enough."

She no longer wished to hear another explanation. If the attendant lacked the courage to ask then she would simply do it herself.

Without another word, she turned and began walking toward the staircase.

"Young Lady!" The attendant’s face instantly paled. He hurried after her, "Please wait! This humble one will handle the matter!"

Unfortunately, the young lady paid him no attention whatsoever.

Each step she took was steady and unhurried, yet every person in the restaurant instinctively moved aside to make way for her.

The attendants could only exchange helpless glances before quietly following behind.

None of them dared step forward to stop her.

Meanwhile... On the second floor...

Wang Gege was still studying the menu with complete concentration, "Qing’er."

"Yes, Young Madam?"

"If we order one fish, one soup, three dishes..." She thoughtfully tapped the menu with her finger. "Do you think Husband will think I’ve eaten too much?"

Qing’er smiled helplessly, "Young Madam, Young Master would never mind."

Wang Gege nodded seriously.

"I think so too." Having reached her conclusion, she happily pointed at another dish on the menu. "Then let’s add this one as well."

Just as Qing’er was about to summon an attendant...

"Ahem."

A deliberate cough sounded beside their table.

Wang Gege and Qing’er instinctively looked up.

Standing before them was the young lady dressed in an elegant lavender robe. She remained where she was, her chin slightly raised as her gaze leisurely swept across the table by the window.

She did not utter a single word.

Instead, the maid standing beside her stepped forward. She merely glanced at Wang Gege before speaking in an impatient tone.

"My Lady has taken a liking to this table." Her eyes briefly swept over the dishes that had yet to be served before returning to Wang Gege. "You may move elsewhere."

Qing’er’s brows were immediately knitted together. "This table was occupied first."

The maid let out a faint scoff. "So?"

She looked Qing’er up and down without attempting to conceal the contempt in her eyes.

"My Lady is willing to let you keep your dignity by asking politely." She raised an embroidered pouch filled with silver and tossed it onto the table with a dull thud. "Take the silver. And find another place to eat."

The restaurant attendant’s face immediately lost all color.

"N-No..." He hurriedly stepped forward. "Young Madam, please don’t misunderstand. This humble one never intended—"

The maid shot him a cold glance.

"What are you panicking for?" She folded her arms before speaking with unmistakable arrogance. "My Lady has already compensated them. It should be considered an honor that my Lady has taken a liking to their table."

Her gaze once again landed upon Wang Gege. "Well? Are you leaving or do you intend to make my Lady wait?"

Qing’er’s expression immediately darkened.

Just as she was about to step forward, Wang Gege gently reached out and lightly tugged at her sleeve.

"Qing’er."

The maid immediately stopped. "But, Young Madam..."

Wang Gege simply shook her head before smiling faintly. "Let’s not disturb other guests while they’re eating."

Her tone remained gentle from beginning to end.

She then looked toward the restaurant attendant, whose forehead was already covered with cold sweat. "Excuse me."

The attendant hurriedly bowed. "Y-Yes, Young Madam."

Wang Gege lowered her gaze to the menu once more as though nothing had happened.

"I would like one steamed mandarin fish, one lotus chicken soup..." Her slender finger lightly moved down the menu. "This stir-fried lotus root, sweet and sour pork, and..."

She paused for a brief moment before looking toward Qing’er, "Qing’er, do you think Husband likes braised tofu?"

Qing’er blinked. Although she was still somewhat angered by the maid’s attitude, she immediately understood what Wang Gege intended.

She respectfully lowered her head. "I heard the Young Master has no particular preference. However... this servant believes he would not dislike it."

"Really?" Wang Gege nodded thoughtfully. "Then let’s add that as well."

The attendant stood frozen beside the table before swallowing nervously.

"Y-Yes, Young Madam."

He had barely turned around when one of the young lady’s guards stepped forward and blocked his path, preventing him from taking another step.

The maid’s expression had already darkened with displeasure. "Did you not hear what I just said?"

Wang Gege slowly lifted her head. Only then did she seem to notice that the maid was still standing there.

"Oh..." She blinked once. "I heard."

The maid frowned. "Then why are you still sitting there?"

Wang Gege tilted her head slightly.

"Because..." She glanced at the untouched teacup before looking back at the maid. "I haven’t eaten yet."
