The night had quietly settled over the Xie Residence.

Having finished her bath, Wang Gege stood by the open window, absentmindedly watching the lanterns sway gently beneath the evening breeze.

She had thought the day’s exhaustion would make her sleepy.

Instead, the more she stood there, the more awake she became. Her eyes unconsciously wandered toward the courtyard entrance.

Xie Rong still hadn’t returned.

She let out a quiet sigh.

For some reason, ever since she had finished bathing, one particular thought refused to leave her mind.

’Would they... be sleeping on the same bed again tonight?’

The more she thought about it, the stranger it seemed.

When she first married into the Xie Residence, she and Xie Rong had already reached an agreement. They would respect one another, refrain from interfering in each other’s affairs, and that’s it.

Thinking about it now, their so-called marriage agreement hardly resembled a marriage agreement at all.

They had never discussed how a married couple should behave toward one another. There had been no rules, no obligations, and no expectations.

Yet, after just four days with him, she had somehow grown accustomed to calling him "Husband," grown accustomed to him waiting for her before leaving the residence, and even grown accustomed to the occasional shameless flirting that slipped so naturally from his mouth.

Wang Gege blinked several times. "This doesn’t feel like what we agreed on..."

She rested her chin against the window frame and quietly muttered to herself. "So... When exactly did everything start changing?"

Suddenly, her eyes widened, "Or was that his plan from the very beginning?"

The possibility alone made her stare blankly into the courtyard.

Before she could think any further, a faint buzzing sound drifted toward her. She instinctively lowered her gaze.

The tiny bee from earlier had somehow returned, gently landing upon the wooden window ledge. It remained there quietly, occasionally rubbing its little forelegs together as if completely at ease.

Wang Gege blinked before a smile slowly crept onto her face.

"So... you came back too?" She leaned forward slightly, resting both arms upon the window frame.

"Do you love those flowers that much?" Her eyes briefly wandered toward the porcelain vase inside the room before returning to the little bee. "You’ve been following them ever since this afternoon."

The little bee remained perched on the ledge, seemingly paying close attention to her.

She chuckled softly, "As long as you don’t sting me... You’re welcome to stay."

For two seconds, nothing happened. But then, a tiny, cheerful voice suddenly sounded.

"Mini won’t sting... Host!"

Wang Gege’s smile instantly froze, her eyes blinked twice before she leaned closer to the bee just to make sure, she didn’t hear wrong.

The bee happily fluttered its little wings.

"Eh?" Wang Gege rubbed her ears. "D-Did... did you just talk?"

"Mm!" The bee’s tiny head bobbed up and down enthusiastically, "Mini can finally meet the Host!"

"What the hell?!"

Wang Gege’s eyes widened in horror as she instinctively stumbled several steps backward, nearly tripping over her own feet. She stared at the tiny bee as though she had just witnessed the most unbelievable thing in her entire life.

"Hello, Host!"

The tiny bee suddenly fluttered its wings before its body was enveloped in a faint golden glow. Right before Wang Gege’s astonished eyes, it gradually grew larger until it was about the size of a thumb. Its round little eyes curved happily, and the tiny antennae on its head bounced excitedly as it hovered in front of her.

"Mini is finally able to introduce herself properly!" the little bee chirped cheerfully before lowering its tiny head. "I’m sorry for being late, Host."

Wang Gege could only stare blankly at the floating little creature, "It became bigger..."

Mini immediately nodded, "Mm! Mini was too small just now. It wasn’t convenient to talk."

The little bee proudly puffed out its tiny chest, "My name is Mini, and I am the system assigned to assist the Host."

Wang Gege’s mouth slowly opened.

"Aah—"

"I’m sorry!" The thumb-sized bee hurriedly bowed repeatedly in midair, its tiny wings buzzing so quickly that its little body nearly lost balance.

"I’m really, really sorry for being late, Host!"

The sudden apology left Wang Gege’s scream stuck halfway in her throat.

Mini lowered her tiny head guiltily, its antennae drooping pitifully.

"Mini didn’t mean to abandon Host... Mini was escorting the previous Host back to their original world, but after returning... Mini got lost on the way."

It rubbed its tiny forelegs together nervously. "By the time Mini finally found Host... Host had already been here for four days."

The little bee’s voice became softer and softer until it was barely audible.

"I’m sorry... Host must have been very lonely."

Wang Gege remained completely frozen. Her gaze wandered from the tiny bee to the open window before returning to it again, her mind already overflowing with countless questions. She instinctively took a deep breath, silently reminding herself to calm down. After all, no matter how unbelievable the situation was, panicking would not help her understand what was happening.

Seeing that Wang Gege had not screamed again, Mini cautiously flew a little closer.

"When Host called for Mini on the first day after arriving here..." The little bee lowered its head guiltily. "Mini actually heard Host."

Wang Gege’s brows knitted together, "You did?"

Mini nodded repeatedly. "Mm! Mini wanted to come immediately, but Mini couldn’t..."

Its tiny wings drooped.

"Mini was escorting the previous Host back to their original world. Until Mini completed that journey, Mini wasn’t allowed to leave."

It rubbed its little forelegs together awkwardly. "After Mini finally returned... Mini got lost."

Mini secretly peeked at Wang Gege’s expression before cautiously asking, "Has Host calmed down a little?"

Wang Gege took another deep breath and gently pressed a hand against her chest. "I... think so."

"Really?" Mini peeked at Wang Gege’s once more.

"Probably."

Mini’s tiny wings fluttered happily.

"Then..." It straightened its tiny body as though remembering something important before clearing its nonexistent throat. "Since Host has calmed down, Mini would like to officially introduce itself!"

Wang Gege blinked, "Officially?"

"Mm!"

The little bee proudly puffed out its tiny chest.

"My name is Mini, and I am Host’s Fortune System!" It paused for dramatic effect before continuing excitedly, "From today onward, Mini will accompany Host, help Host accumulate Fortune, complete missions, and become the happiest Host in the world!"

"The... happiest?" Wang Gege repeated blankly.

"Mm-hmm!" Mini nodded so enthusiastically that its tiny body bobbed up and down in the air, "And... When Host accumulates one hundred thousand Fortune..." It excitedly flew in front of her and continued, "Mini can send Host back to the original world!"

Mini beamed happily. "Isn’t that wonderful?"

Wang Gege remained silent as her brows slowly knitted together. "Why would I do that?"

Mini’s smile froze, "Eh?"

"I mean..." Wang Gege tilted her head in genuine confusion. "I’m already dead over there, aren’t I?"

Mini blinked, "That’s true."

"So why would I go back?" Wang Gege’s eyes furrowed.

Mini’s tiny antennae slowly drooped. "The manual... It says... Every host wishes to return home."

Wang Gege scratched her cheek.

"Well... I’m probably not every host."
