If Wang Gege could hide her face at that moment, she would have gladly buried it inside the wide sleeves of her robe.

Unfortunately, that was impossible.

Although Xie Rong’s eyes were covered by a black silk blindfold, she still felt as though he was silently judging her.

The room remained quiet for several moments.

Before, Xie Rong finally spoke, "Young Madam is a remarkably honest person."

Wang Gege immediately felt something was wrong. Why did that sound like a compliment and an insult at the same time?

Meanwhile, Xie Rong pressed his lips together briefly before continuing, "And the answer to your question is yes."

"Yes..." Wang Gege nodded unconsciously, her mind still trying to process his answer. Then her eyes suddenly widened, "What?!"

The shock in her voice echoed throughout the room. She stared at him in disbelief, "Which one is the yes for?"

Without realizing it, she had already taken a step forward. "I mean..."

She pointed toward the bed behind her, "The same room, right?"

The words came out much faster than intended. Her heart immediately began beating faster.

Despite the chaos in her mind at that time, Xie Rong remained as calm as ever.

Wang Gege took several deep breaths as she stared at him eagerly, waiting for his answer.

"All of them." The answer came calmly. Then Xie Rong turned and continued walking toward the door.

Meanwhile, Wang Gege freeze, remained standing where she was.

She blinked once and again and again, trying to understand the meaning behind those three words.

’All of them? What did he mean by all of them? The same room? The same bed?’

Her eyes slowly widened, when realisation hit, "No way..."

By the time she finally reacted, Xie Rong had already reached the doorway.

As though sensing Wang Gege’s anxiousness, he paused briefly and the corners of his lips curved upward slightly.

The expression disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Unfortunately, Wang Gege was too busy dealing with her own shock to notice it.

"Young Madam..." Xie Rong stopped at the open doorway, "Go and take a bath quickly. The water might turn cold soon."

Then he stepped out.

Meanwhile, standing not far from the entrance, Qing’er and Chuntao immediately lowered their heads as Xie Rong stepped out of the room.

"Young Master." The two maids bowed respectfully.

Xie Rong merely nodded before continuing on his way.

Only after his figure gradually disappeared from the courtyard did Qing’er cautiously raise her head.

She and Chuntao froze. The two maids exchanged a glance. For a moment, neither spoke.

"Did you..." Chuntao hesitated.

Qing’er looked at her, "See that too?"

The two of them fell silent once again.

Young Master Xie smiled. The smile had only appeared briefly. So briefly that they almost believed they had imagined it. But both of them had seen it clearly.

Ever since arriving at the Xie residence, they had heard countless stories about him. Cold, ruthless and difficult to approach. A man who rarely showed any emotion.

Yet moments ago, the corners of his lips had clearly lifted.

"Perhaps we saw it incorrectly?" Chuntao asked hesitantly.

After all, all she knew was that Young Master Xie had never been fond of the marriage arranged between the Xie and Shen families.

She had even heard rumors that Master Shen had used various methods to ensure the marriage took place.

As a result, many people believed that Young Master Xie held little affection for the Shen family. Which was precisely why the scene they had just witnessed felt so unbelievable.

Qing’er remained silent for a moment. Then she slowly shook her head. "I don’t think so."

Her gaze drifted toward the room behind them. The room where Wang Gege was still completely unaware of the discussion taking place outside.

"After all..." Qing’er’s voice softened slightly, "Young Madam has changed quite a lot as well."

Chuntao frowned slightly. "Young Madam... changed?"

Qing’er nodded. "Hm. Haven’t you noticed?"

Chuntao blinked before shaking her head, "I did not notice anything." She paused briefly, "How has Young Madam changed?"

Qing’er glanced at her. For a few moments, she remained silent. In truth, there were many things she could mention.

The way Young Madam spoke now. The way she smiled more often. The way she no longer apologized for every little thing. Even the way she looked at people felt different.

Yet somehow, Qing’er found herself swallowing those words.

These past two days, Chuntao had also been acting somewhat differently than usual.

Not enough to be alarming. But enough to make Qing’er slightly cautious.

As a result, she simply smiled. "Oh, nothing much."

Her gaze drifted toward the room behind them. "Young Madam just seems a little more cheerful than before."

Chuntao looked thoughtful and eventually nodded.

Meanwhile, Qing’er remained silent. For some reason, she felt that some observations were better kept to herself for now.

At that same moment, the door suddenly opened.

The two maids immediately turned around. Only to see Wang Gege cautiously peeking her head out.

She looked toward the courtyard and then toward the entrance.

Only after confirming that a certain blindfolded man had truly left did she finally let out a breath of relief.

"He really left..." The words escaped under her breath.

Then she looked at the two maids.

"Qing’er."

"Young Madam." Qing’er rushed towards her, followed by Chuntao.

Wang Gege hesitated. She appeared to be struggling with something.

Then she finally lowered her voice, "I need to ask you something."

The seriousness in her expression immediately caused Qing’er and Chuntao to straighten their backs.

"Young Madam, please speak." Qing’er slightly bowed her head.

Wang Gege glanced toward the room behind her and closed her eyes for several seconds.

Only after mentally preparing herself did she turn back toward Qing’er.

"Qing’er..." She gestured for the maid to come closer.

The mysterious action immediately caused Chuntao, who was standing nearby, to raise an eyebrow curiously.

Qing’er obediently stepped forward. "Young Madam?"

Wang Gege lowered her voice, "Can you bring me a bucket of water?"

Qing’er blinked. Then she pulled back slightly and stared at Wang Gege in confusion. "A bucket of water, Young Madam?"

"Yes." Wang Gege nodded seriously, "I need it."

"May this servant ask what it is for, Young Madam?"

The question immediately made Wang Gege fall silent.

What was she supposed to say?

After several moments of thought, she finally lowered her voice even further. "If half of the bed is wet..."

Qing’er and Chuntao, both blinking, waiting for Wang Gege to finish her words.

"Then only one person can sleep there, right?"

The moment Wang Gege finished her words, the courtyard fell into silence.
