Sword of the Philosopher

Now, it would be nice to strengthen Sophia, who has become a squire... better to plan properly than to fight demons without darkness.

He left it to me to decide what to do. So the policy is free to decide.

In information by the user demon, each protagonist appears to be working well. For a while there have been no unpleasant events and no one to challenge the Five Demons, so we can focus on training Sofia... but speaking of problems, is it the moving side?

She can't use fast moving magic like me. Exactly. I can't even stick my neck in a subevent caused by the protagonists, but when it comes to a situation where someone challenges the Five Demons, I just want to hurry up to see how things are going nearby or accompany them.

The other four, with the exception of Eina the Knight, are able to support Sophia even if she is there... and it may be Ali to leave me behind and temporarily operate just for me, but doing so will leave her alone for a long time. In this case, you wouldn't be convinced if you didn't explain my abilities or my position.

I've become a squire, and if we're always going to act together, I don't care how much we tell you about the situation... but you won't understand me if I say that I just reincarnated into the world of games, etc. But if you say, for example, "I'm dying in battle with the Demon King, and somehow I'm starting my life over again," even if I know the future, I can explain it.

It's quicker to talk about it... but this is also quite risky. Some of the demons I will encounter in the future are like reading thoughts. It's an attack of mental dependence, so I'm shaking off my status. I'm fine, but if I tell you what's going on, it's possible that information will naturally be passed on to those demons as well - in the case of Sofia in the first place, is there any chance that the royal family will be exposed? It's only after the middle of the day that the demon tribe emerges, so I might be in a situation where I don't feel comfortable exposing myself about the royal family... but in my case, it doesn't either.

I doubt if the Demons will trust that information by reading their minds, and I don't know if they could possibly encounter it in the first place... well, even if I tell Sophia the circumstances, my amount of knowledge is beyond the level that humans in this world can grasp, so no matter how I explain it, I can't. A strange explanation of the circumstances led to some inconsistency, and the possibility that Sophia would be the worst suspected and troublesome thing... just too much to think about?

This is the one that fits into the dots like when I worried about Sophia... for now, I'm going to keep the status quo at this stage... and after that decision I'll think again about what I'm going to do with her. The best thing is that she also magically gets a means to travel faster. And there's...

"First of all, you have a deal with the Spirit."

When I'm eating at the diner, I speak.

After fulfilling the village's request, we went back to Sylvet and took a full day off with Sofia's rest. It's night now, and we're just discussing what to do next while we eat.

As for her clothes, they were torn in the battle against demons, so new similar clothes. Plus I usually don't see it hidden in my coat, but I wear a breastplate for women made of special leather. I bought this in town.

And then she opens her mouth to whine in response to her earlier remarks.

"Spirit, is it"

"Oh. Even magic has a certain amount of knowledge to handle more than intermediate magic...... but Sophia doesn't have that knowledge, does she?

She nods at this question - to master more than intermediate magic, there are conditions. I couldn't remember magic without fulfilling certain conditions for characters who don't even have magic knowledge on the game. If it's junior magic, I can pay a wizard or something to teach it, but if it's intermediate or better, it doesn't work either.

Originally, academia - as I said in my previous life, it would be usable if high schools and universities had acquired knowledge in the schools and research institutes where they came together. In fact, for fellow characters who studied at the academia, they were able to master more than intermediate magic without the need for conditions.

If you don't have that kind of academia knowledge, two means exist… one is what I'm also mastering called 'sacred magic'. If you pay to go to the cathedral and hand over some materials, there will be a magic supply in the name of baptism that will allow you to use more than intermediate magic. Of course I need knowledge to use the magic I remember, but I can use it without years of learning in academia or requiring professional research.

However, this magic modifies the power of magic negatively compared to the wizards learned at the Academy. In fact, I have been involved with the Sacred Wizard in my training years and the Wizard I learned at the Academy, but the Sacred Wizard has many cases of lack of fire power and it is difficult to be the main one...... by the way, in my case it has little to do with it because it is possible to gobble by ability. Well, if the parameter becomes Max, a negative fix is a trivial thing.

By the way, it is named sacred because many people from the diocese are magic handled by cleric warriors and others - mainly to use magic that is considered "holy power" such as light. But with this baptism, I can remember intermediate, advanced magic that would be a dark attribute.

This is definitely the easiest way to do it, and if you want it to be mastered, this method is quick... this sacred magic, the protagonists had the constraint of not being baptized.

The exact reason is unknown, but there is no doubt that the sage's blood is acting in any way... I'm pretty sure I can tell Sophia this as well. Hence she cannot remember 'divine magic'.

There comes out another way of mastering… 'Spirit Magic' that can be mastered in a covenant with the Spirit. Contracted Spirit Attributes Improves magical power and chanting speed. By the way, even people who learn and master magic in academia can contract with the Spirit, which further increases the power of magic. Hence there are many cases where the character of the original wizard contracts to enhance the magic rather than the warrior contracts.

"There are other reasons for this than magic mastery over intermediate. Contracting with the Spirit also improves Sofia's physical abilities"

"Yes."

Sophia agrees. That's where I keep talking.

"Plus... I use the magic of the wind to travel at high speeds when I'm in a fire situation such as an invasion of the Demons. I have a history of running like that when I helped Sophia."

"Really?"

"So, naturally Sophia doesn't remember those magics... you just don't like being left behind, do you?

"Right."

"So make sure it doesn't. The nearest is the residence of the Spirit of the Wind, so I can just remember those magics."

- Worst case scenario, even if you leave it behind, if it's my word, it seems to have a convincing atmosphere. Nevertheless, it would not be a good idea for that to happen too often, or a policy of mastery for now.

When she acts with me again, she naturally has the possibility to participate in the battle against the Five Demons. It's unclear at the moment because I couldn't confirm on the game that she was qualified to fight the Demon King... but to have the strength to fight such demonic opponents, I would need to train both swords and magic. Therefore, the method of spiritual magic should be correct.

And then the question is, is the quality of her magic… we need to think about measures against the demon tribe that discern people by the quality of their magic, not by appearance. It's hard overnight about this... but for now, after the covenant with the Spirit, let's think about it.

Concluding in my heart, I move on.

"Proceeding northwest from this town there is a mountainous area, where Silf, the Spirit of the Wind, lives"

"Yes, I know. That's where you sign the contract."

"That's right. If anything happens, the magic of fast travel makes it somewhat accommodating... isn't it convenient?

"Right. Then the next goal is to sign with the Spirit of the Wind."

The story came together. Information by the user demon does not have a protagonist character to sign with the Spirit as it stands. Therefore, the contract could be made without Sofia's presence being exposed.

Incidentally, the Spirit Contract event will be able to contract again after encountering trouble for the first time and resolving it... I grasp from the user demon's report that another protagonist, unlike Phili and Eina, was doing it. Well, if that event happens again, it's a sub-event. It was my decision that there would be no impact on the scenario.

From there we proceeded with our meal… After we finished eating, we decided to rest in preparation for tomorrow.

The next day, we leave town for the mountainous area with silf. As far as distance is concerned, it is not enough, and yet the streets are maintained, so there is no problem at all in terms of moving forward.

Originally the route over the mountain was one of the stretched streets, where you can push through the valley looking to the left and right. There seem to be many reasons why these paths could have been made, but I don't know much about history, so I don't have a bad idea either. I'll look into it if I get a chance.

Off the street to the side road into the mountain, you arrive at the Spirit's residence... In previous life, the Spirit looked a lot different with every game and novel. Silf in this world had the appearance of a palm-sized fairy and only a woman on the game.

I've seen books and stuff about the area, but they don't mean that men are zero. Well, they're spirits and there's no such thing as having children, so blah, blah, blah. Seems the distinction between men and women doesn't make much sense.

We continued our journey to the dwellings of such spirits, defeating the demons we encountered along the way, while reaching the foot of the mountain, which is our destination.

"... it's vast"

On the road before entering the residence of the Spirit, Sophia looks up at the mountain and gives her thoughts. I nodded small and looked around.

Mountains, though, are spread out in front of you, and from a distance, some places seem to have snow near the summit of the mountain. It is difficult to grasp the full extent due to its proximity, but except for the entrance to the valley, the forest was extensive, and it felt like a natural fortress.
