Sword of the Philosopher

Battle of the caution sticks

"I'm sorry. Very helpful."

After defeating the demon, the soldiers are thanked. I said, "Naturally." Then they left this place to check inside the town.

Meanwhile, Nog and Caln just started consulting after seeing us... we saw the fight in the game and they want us to work together... to make it work.

"Well, that sounds like a pretty good user"

Nog says. When I sent my gaze, I was half surprised, half interested and so on.

"You both seem to have enough arms...... by the way, I mean, you're traveling, but what's the purpose of that?

"I'll just say that to counter the Demons..."

"I see. Which way were you trying to go now?

"East to the covenant with the Spirit"

"So, is it Norm... I see"

Nog alternately observes me and Sophia. Caln is similarly observing again... just a little bit. I feel she has a sharp gaze.

Silence had arisen for a little while...... eventually, Nog opened his mouth.

"... can I just talk to you a little bit about cooperation?

"Go ahead."

That's why we started discussing it here. As a result, me and Sophia were to cooperate with them.

Nog's explanation to the leader led us back home, and me and Sophia slowly headed to the location with Caln. Northeast of Inn Town in direction. A small fort in the mountainous area was their home.

"They originally built it to do exercises in mountainous areas. It doesn't look like it's being used now, so we're using it with permission."

Caln explains. Sophia listens to her story in person even though she says her wallet has been slaughtered. I don't know if it's because I'm doing something called a caution stick, or if there's anything else... but I would appreciate it more than working with them to fight, so I refrain from mentioning that I can't stand a corner.

Eventually we arrived at home. At this point, the time is like before noon.

"Okay, arrival"

Caln says hello to the man at the gatekeeper and we follow him. Once inside, it goes straight ahead and reaches the deepest door. He's not going in, so open the door and let us in. There's...

"I've been waiting"

The first thing that caught my eye was Nog, who spoke up. The next thing I saw was one person sitting in a chair beside him standing.

A man with gray hair and a soft grin. I don't feel like a good guy, but I don't feel intimidated... I feel like a casual brother. Is the age a little over twenty?

The face is characteristic when it comes to double eyelids that are so normal and beautiful, but the skin is so beautiful that you don't look like you're a leader in a fort like this...... he was a lot of an unbalanced person.

Speaking of which, the fact that the skin is beautiful was mentioned in the strategy book setup materials or something... I'm surprised it even reflects that I don't care about the setup.

"Welcome, Guest. I'm listening."

Nickel and, with a grin, he says. Probably to reassure this one a little...... the man in front of me is Theor-Ogen, one of my fellow characters.

Unlike Caln, he doesn't have skills such as stealing, but all of the unique moves he possesses are of the type where he competes with the manipulation of a continuous strike system, and his traits make it relatively easy to use at the beginning. The status is quite good, and until about the middle of the day, he is enough to be able to sit on one of the main forces. In fact, I'm pretty sure a lot of people do this series of events to keep him company, not Caln.

However, since the middle of the day, the stats have become slightly inferior, and the continuous strike system moves have become less firepower. There are many occasions when we can compete by hand if we equip ourselves with powerful weapons and use auxiliary magic, so we can still be active in the second half of the story... The main problem is that continuous strike moves are the main ones.

I don't know what it's like now that it's become the real world, but in the game, there was a fellow who was systematically privileged and had a non-standard strength: 'The Three Powers'. One of them is an offensive person with a series of moves… and since there are other powerful unique moves there will be many players who will remove Theol and keep him company after the middle of the day. Even if they are not, they are even less likely to be used because any protagonist will join them in the second half close to the top compatibility.

I don't know if the characteristics around it are the same now in the real world... but anyway in the game he is definitely a warrior type and easy to use to be one of them at the beginning.

"So, it's quick and bad... if you two would like to join the bandit attack right now"

"From now on, is it?

Sophia listens back. Theol then nodded small,

"I'm saying it knowingly that I can't. As a matter of fact, while Nog and the others were in town, there was a fight with the bandits, and it became a showdown."

This was just like the game flow so I'm not surprised... Sophia is surprised and Nog seems kind of sorry.

"The status quo, the power of the war is antagonistic… but with you joining the Needlewolf herd, this one will greatly benefit"

"Okay. It's quick, I don't mind."

I promise. When I looked at Sophia, I nodded small about whether she was willing to follow this one.

"Now let's get ready. Some merchants are in the fort, so if you need anything, prepare it there."

Theol takes a seat. Me and Sophia left and started walking in the fort.

"Suddenly."

"Right. But it's going to work out in no time, and it's going to have an atmosphere that doesn't seem to affect your journey, okay?

While responding, pull the flow in the game out of memory. Leaving the fort, the scene changes to reach the enemy's home. The bandit's stronghold is a cave, with a theor-centric elite stepping in. The main character's role, along with a handful of caution sticks, is to secure enemies trying to escape at the cave entrance... while Theol and the others attack, the demons attack.

The bandits were working hand in hand with the demons, and this battle was a trap that used the demons to wipe out Theol and the others. And the protagonist prevents the devil from entering the cave... is this battle.

Demons, though, are not like the Crimson Demons I encountered in the Windy Valley. It must have been the least capable blue Lesser Demon. It is human shaped but has no mouth, ears or nose on its head, only creepy crimson eyes exist. Weapons use nails, while others use weapons such as swords and spears. The most troublesome thing is the guy with the bow. The guy was defeated as a priority in the game to aim for the rear guard if left alone in the wild.

Low ability, albeit strong when compared to enemies at the beginning. Though, Sofia now should be able to defeat you enough to fight with one hit.

We'll get out of the building and watch the perimeter. The caution sticks were getting ready, and some of them looked like Caln.

That's where she notices us and rushes over.

"Are you sure you want to accompany me?

"Oh, nice to meet you"

When he greets him, Caln says "Hi" and goes back to prepare for the answer. If you look at the face of the caution stick, it's a lot of rational movement for a bandit to lift. Not even with the military, but it seems to be under control.

At the end, there are some merchant-like figures that Theol was talking about. "I don't need it" was returned if I somehow waved to Sophia. I agree, so let's ignore the merchants.

Eventually, the caution sticks get ready and set up in front of the gate. Then Theol comes and says something to us first.

"Ready?

"It's okay."

He nodded when this one replied,

"Everybody, move on! Give them guidance in this fight!

The caution sticks bark. While I felt the high morale on my skin... Sophia and I started traveling with the batons.
