Sword of the Philosopher
Night raids and...
I discover a bunch of demons, and the word night raid comes to my head.
"Does it make sense that I set you up at the right time to go to your castle...?
More reports from Using Demons as they whine. Apparently, the herd of demons is definitely approaching this way.
"Not good."
I interrupt my sleep, gear up, and get out of the house. He then calls out to one of the knights who was nearby and asks him where Balzard is.
And in the house of purpose - there was even more of Eina and Sophia with him.
"... an ops conference?
"No, I'm just here to see what's going on."
Balzad speaking with a bitter smile.
"Now, if you'll excuse me... Lord Luon, can I help you both?
It's an emergency.
The words tighten the expression of everyone who was in the house.
"Actually, I was flying the demon to see what was going on around me... from where the demon castle is, there's a horde of demons looming"
"... well, the herd?
"How big is it?
Sophia asks. I respond to her in return.
"I can't say for sure because it's night... but at least you have the strength to defeat the knights of this village in an ambush?
"Are you sure you're headed this way?
Now Eina asks.
"We are also wary of being in the castle..."
"It's definitely looming from my use demon. It's not a zero chance that we're headed this way by chance, but considering that the herd is dominated or coming from a certain direction of the castle -"
"The demons in the castle are the assassins who set us free."
"That's what I think...... what do we do? I hope it's hard to get over."
"Immediately, let's try to respond"
Balzad said.
"There would be considerable damage if measures were not taken. Lord Luon will continue his reconnaissance with the demon, and will contact you if anything happens."
"Okay."
Balzard immediately goes outside and informs the knight. It spreads quickly - throughout the village. I'll go outside and rendezvous with the alts. Explain the circumstances.
Observing with the demon of use, the demon comes closer and closer. Here I ask Balzard.
"You're definitely coming closer. How are we gonna handle this?
"Thanks to Lord Luon, we no longer have to worry about ambushes. At this point, the opponent can be considered to be losing interest. If you organize your knights properly, it won't be hard to cope"
"We don't have much time left, do we?
"It's okay, it's already working."
Eina says. Turn your gaze and you'll see the knights start preparing for battle in neat motion.
"So, what do we do?
"Lord Luon asks for the Princess's escort."
To Balzard's words, I frown.
"Escort?"
"The knights will handle it. Lord Luon, with Lord Alto and the others, will wait in our house and escort the princess. You're exhausted from a long journey, aren't you?
They're caring for me. As far as I'm concerned, I'm fine, and seeing Sophia's face nearby makes me feel like I'm willing to fight, too.
"Mr. Leon, I'll take care of this place."
Here Alto opened his mouth.
I look back at him - I know what you're trying to say. With our skill, it's easy to deal with demons. But shouldn't we put up a knight's face?
"... ok. Be careful."
"Uhm."
Balzad responded to me and headed with Eina to the entrance to the village.
After dropping it off, Alto opened his mouth again.
"You mean we wait. Let's take it slow."
"That's a long time."
Inside the house where Sophia and the others lived, whilst keeping their voices shut.
"I'm not so worried..."
Says Sophia. I nodded to agree, too, while she sat empty beside me, so I sat there.
"I'm not questioning the strength of the Balzads."
Now, is this the scope of the game about this night raid...... although I have sometimes omitted events about the Gdys, I have no idea what the demons were doing.
I'm not afraid if it's simply a battle that has arisen as one of the events. But if you don't...
"… just in case you want to observe the surroundings of the village"
Instruct the user demon and observe the village and its surroundings from above. From above, you can see clearly, but the knights are ready for the demons that will come any minute with their stiff movements.
There are no demons in the woods or anything around the village. Even if the demon I discovered is positive, it doesn't seem like it's going to hit the next one.
"Is there something wrong?
Sophia asks. I shook my head small and replied.
"No, it's okay. If only we could defeat the imminent demon..."
When I said that, I noticed one strange thing.
"... hmm?
"What's up?
Alto asks. Without answering that, I instruct the user demon to observe the strange place.
It's the edge of the village. The knights are naturally moving relative to the demons, but they don't tilt all their troops there. Quite a few knights watch the perimeter of the village for perimeter watch.
But one person - at a level where I don't feel uncomfortable unless it's from above - is someone who moves differently than the other knights. I'm not looking outside the village, I'm sending a lot of gaze inside the village and to the knights on the lookout. There are no knights around to make similar moves. This is...
"... No way"
"Is there a problem? Then we'd better fix it soon."
To Alto's words, I look back on him. The person with overlapping gaze looks at this face in surprise.
Then turn your face to Sophia. She was questioning me because I didn't say anything, but she seemed disturbed by my attitude.
"... alto"
"Oh, what's up?
"I'm going to take a look outside. Stay with Sophia."
"... Master Luon?
Sophia calls me by my name to see what's going on. But this one shook his head from left to right.
"Just checking in."
Stand up and walk out without listening to anyone's response. Alto and the others seemed somewhat bewildered, but I left the private house and started walking early.
"What happened?
Gark asks. It's a split gark that exists in my body, but I guess I asked because I can't confirm the status of the user demon I let go.
"There's only one knight who makes a lot of weird moves"
"Are you a traitor?
"I'm not sure... can you pay attention to Garc, too?
"Fine."
Shortly after I heard from Gark, I discovered the person in question. Appearance, being no different from other knights. But...
"- Hmm."
Garc squeaks in his head.
"Lord Luon, stop by and you'll find out soon enough. He is not a demon himself. Apparently, in the sword you are equipped with, resides the power of the Demons'
... I guess it's an insignificant weapon because it's so unnoticed that Garc doesn't come close.
"Um, what's up?
The knight asks. I hardly know what it looks like because I wear it all the way to my helmet with full body armor.
I'm worried about what to do...... after a few moments, I spoke.
I have one question for you.
"Huh? Oh, yes. Go ahead."
"Where did you get that sword?
Speak with a slight sharp eye - understand what I'm trying to say, or the knight will be stiff.
How it moves...... when this one is silent, he takes a step back.
"Sounds like you've figured out what the question means... if you tell me the circumstances, at least I won't take it to life"
I say. But the knight remains stiff.
"Confirmed... what if you're the one who guided the demon?
- At the moment of the word, the knight pulled out his sword and attacked me.
