Sword of the Philosopher

Policy decisions

From the next day on, we move out. What you do is extremely simple. If I find the demon, I will defeat it. That's all.

The gathering point where demons gather is dotted on this continent, but there are such places near the harbour town. It's not that massive though.

Some of them are quite large, even if seen on continental maps, but there are basically many smaller locations. Because demons are constantly born in those places, the feast is now just the right exercise.

Oh, there you are.

Off the streets to the woods, you discover demons. Looks like a tiger demon...... but the color is blue.

"Is that strong?

Sophia questioning. Um, you didn't appear in the second series for now. Then I guess it's the demon that came out of social games... you don't know the details.

I was kind of hoping that I could use my knowledge of the game, but it looks like the demons have changed in the last twenty years. The reason would be that it inspired the battle of angels and also affected the magical powers that exist on this continent......

"There's no warning from magic tools for now, so let's fight it"

The light on the badge turns white. That means if you defeat this guy, you'll get a medal.

"Start with me"

When I declare it, the tiger also notices this way and sets up a rampage. I created a sword out of my right hand and stood up against it.

Well, to be honest, it's not a problem at all... but I shook my sword relentlessly against the demon that's going straight ahead.

As a result, you break the demon's head with one blow... yeah, naturally this happens.

"I'll be next."

Sophia comes forward. A similar demon has appeared, so she intercepts it.

She has also stormed it, but she destroyed it with a single knife - by the way, the sword is a spiritual steel sword that was used in the battle against the Demon King. So I'm dealing with it fine, and for this minute, you don't seem to need the sword of the Divine Spirit.

So, last but not least Romilda... she didn't condone it.

"Ha!"

The purple light emitted with such a hung voice strikes directly at the demons that were forming the herd.

Zugaga, a neighborhood annoying burst sounds all around. Some of the demons raised their voices like terminators... and when they realized it was all gone.

"If you're a demon around town, there's no problem with Mr. Leon and the others."

Richard shares his thoughts.

"At this rate, I think we'll soon be able to fight powerful demons..."

"Let's first fight demons in the morning to see how much medals accumulate"

Sophia and Romilda snort at my words.

"Then let's go back."

"Master Luon, are you going to the depths?

"There's no greater demon than being close to the harbour town, even at its deepest. Besides, it doesn't mean we can go back and stop the demons from appearing."

If we want to stop the appearance of demons, we'll have to seal them with powerful magic, but the range is also huge and quite harsh in reality.

Besides, doing that creates distortions in the very magic that exists on the earth. Even in the continent of Sherzia, where the Demon King came and tried to use the magic of continental collapse, it is just as difficult to wipe out the power planted in the earth altogether, and when forced to suppress it, even harm comes out.

Therefore, if we are going to do something like this, we need to do a lot of research... so let's not think about it because it's not something we can do about it.

So, we don't hesitate to go back - the demons are diverse. Beginning with goblins, wolves, monkeys, snakes, earlier tiger-like demons, and many animal types.

Some are human, but rare... I can't tell if this is the same as the game, but for us it's basically all a blow, so it's not a big difference.

"Hey, that's refreshing"

Richard shrugged intriguingly when he saw us erase the demons from one end.

"Speaking of which, Mr. Luon, the demons that exist on this continent... how strong are the beings at the top?

"... I don't know. But that doesn't mean you're stronger than the Demon King."

I don't know about this neighborhood until I actually fight it... but if it's based on social games, I also feel like there's no end to it. I just can't imagine a demon with just the ability to be a demon king.

Well, we'll find out sooner or later around here... even though we think about it, we take down the demons around us from one end to the other. If I knock down the snake that was nearby with my sword, Sophia lights up and pierces a few wolves together. More Romilda releases an arrow that shines purple, causing more than one demon that was at the point of landing to disappear.

... I guess Romilda is the top demon destroyer so far. Unlike me and Sophia, I have no mercy.

And we started the demon crusade in the morning... but we cut it up once before noon or so to get back to town. Well, for now, the result is...

"Yes, it is currently such a number"

The woman at the reception is given a piece of paper with figures on it. Hmm.

"... Sort of."

It's not far to the top 100, but it's well numerically.

"The higher the quality of demons, the more medals we can earn… If we have the strength, we can hunt a lot of demons with that power."

"Even though, other participants fight monsters every day, right?"

Sophia says. Yeah, you're right.

The bulletin boards in town have not changed from yesterday as to whether the aggregation period is fixed. After a certain period of time the figures will be added and a new ranking will probably be published.

Naturally, even the top humans aren't long, and the numbers will be up by the next update... If you're fighting a high level demon, naturally the difference just opens up with us.

"Besides, there may be some people who don't aggregate numbers in town and keep fighting even into the demon nest... I mean, it's possible that if you look at the bulletin board, you suddenly come up with a name you don't know"

"Uh, I mean?

I speak with my head to Romilda, who tilts his neck.

"If you're going for the top... you should consider all the possibilities and get an overwhelming medal that no one can follow"

"Whatever the way we do it, we have to start by getting on the bulletin board"

And, Sophia says. I snorted,

"If you can encounter an angel in the course of a battle, you can talk on the spot and change the way you do. The first thing you need to do is crusade a powerful demon to get closer to an angel."

"Mr. Luon, don't you use the references Aene gave you?

Here Richard raised his voice.

"Meet and talk to great people, because it's one way..."

"Isn't it a lot more effective to use it, after you get some martial arts medals?

"Oh, sure."

A convincing look on his face, too. Thus,

"We can get to the nearest town by the end of the day, so let's head over there first. So, go to a place where there is a massive demonic nest and hunt for demons. If you encounter an angel or call from a great man, talk to him."

"That's settled."

Sophia said, pointing the way out of town.

"Shall we hurry up?"

"Oh. Is Romilda okay?

"It's okay."

"What about Richard?

"I didn't do anything in the first place... I need to figure out what I can do."

shrugging his shoulders, he looked up at the sky after a bitter laugh.

"Ma, it's lazy compared to previous battles, okay?

... Yeah, Richard says, but I wonder what the truth is.

These demonic crusades certainly benefit people. Definitely there...... a situation that should be called a massive "festival" like this is too much of an event to stand around behind all sorts of things.

If we run into any kind of case, we can solve it - yes, we've made up our minds and we're out of town.
