Sword of the Philosopher

Anger and Temple

Behind the forest existed a settlement where Jin's subordination lived, where it looked more like a human village than a mirage of phantom beasts.

It cuts through the forest somewhat, and a wooden house is built to surround the centre of the village.

"You should use this house during your stay"

Guided by Jin, they provide a beautiful cabin that exists in the corner of the village. Looking inside, it feels like a house inhabited by humans, similar to the exterior. There are multiple rooms and beds in the room.

"... how did you get the beds and the furniture?

"We have all sorts of ways to buy it."

I was curious, but Jin wouldn't talk any more, so I just replied, "Okay."

"You don't have a kitchen"

And, Sophia speaks on the pretend.

"There's a place to rest, but there's no such thing as food."

"That's a decisive difference from humans there. We can eat because we have the same flesh as humans, but basically it's enough to take magic directly from plants and stuff. I'll do something about the food here."

"I don't usually eat, are you okay?

In response to the inner question of whether humans can distinguish between what they can eat or something... Jin replies, "It's okay".

"You don't have to worry about that. Knowledge possesses it."

"... Somehow the question is, if you can maintain your body just by taking in magic, how come you have a human body structure?

"The answer to that reference is simple. It's the opposite of causality."

"... what do you mean?

When questioned, Jin spread his hands a bit like a play,

"Our bodies have the same body structure as humans because humans are based... all our brains, organs, hands and feet"

"... existence developed from man, you mean?

"Development, I don't really like the way you say it. I don't care what happens."

"Why are you saying that in such a negative way..."

"If this body was great, it wouldn't have been strange if our existence had become the standard for humans. But reality lives secluded on this island as a corner of existence called the phantom beast... what else do you say we survive to hide without prosperity?

- Masochism, which also seems like a breeze, but I felt something somewhat closer to anger than that emotion from what Jin said. It's like resentment for gaining such a trait?

"I'll explain to you about us... so what? Even if we stay here, can we just get this over with?

"Right. I'm going to want time to sort things out first."

Jin responded, "Okay," to this reference.

"Then shall we move to our destination? A temple exists a little further from this village. I keep the materials there."

"Temple, is it?

Sophia listens back. The question is why you built a temple on an island like this.

"Oh, I didn't build it to profess anything. As a result of relocating the location where the materials will be stored."

"Transfer...... I mean, put the whole temple where the material existed here?

"That's the thing. But we don't know how to do that right now."

- I wonder how much the relocating parties wanted to leave the material behind.

We'll follow the house and move on to our destination. When I meet Jin's men on the road, they give me a meeting here. You treat me like a guest.

"Do other phantom beasts have facilities like this?

Sophia raises a question on the lid. And Jin shrugged his shoulders,

"No, you probably won't. We're made to be phantom beasts, just like Terra and so on, but it's a lot different."

"Become,"

"Interested in hearing about phantom beasts, starting with Terra? Well, it's not that important."

"Let me hear it"

Jin answers this request, "That's good," and continues the conversation.

"A phantom beast was not a powerful being from the beginning of anything. At first it was like the rest of the demons… but there was a decisive difference and they possessed themselves"

"Self..."

"That gave me less chance of dying like a demon... the demon is unreasonable and acting entirely according to his instincts. On the other hand, if you have self, your instincts are suppressed, and you are less at risk of attacking humans and others. It made it easier to survive, and at the same time it built up strength."

"Is that how the end of your strength is called the phantom beast?

"Right."

"I grew up," he said?

"I know what you're trying to say. If you're going to grow up to be a phantom beast, you're wondering if phantom beasts are still born somewhere today... but that kind of presence hasn't shown up. It was in ancient times that the phantom beasts were born. So, the mighty beast inherits power in its offspring as well, and there is a terra-like presence"

"Ancient times...... why can't we do it now and we used to?

"There is a decisive difference in the magic content contained in the atmosphere. It was in the past that the intensity was so incomparable with the present that the existence of the phantom beast was born"

"What's the difference between now and old times?

"I'll explain there."

Hmm, he said the phantom beast was a past being whose magic was more luxurious than it is now. I never cared about the magic concentration in the atmosphere or anything, but it's also about star gods around here, and the likelihood of that... is it unlikely?

Whatever it is, it's not going to cost us anything... and while we're talking, we're back in the woods. Keep going through the dark magic as usual, a little while later there is a forest exit and thought light.

"Right there."

Following Jin's guidance, I finally saw the temple... The building was made of marble white building materials and had been damaged everywhere, either because of the considerable number of years it had been converted.

Plus, it's not that big a building when it comes to temples. Feels painful. Doesn't seem like much depth.

"The material is written in ancient language, so I can translate it... I will explain everything while presenting the material, but if anyone is interested, please tell me. I can't translate it all at once, but I'll give you an overview."

It's all because of you... Now, what is the truth about Jin? Sophia walking next door is also a little twitchy, so she looks interested.

Again, I'm just a little high on it as well... but while I suppress that, I follow after Jin.

Eventually into the temple. It was a quiet and full space, and the atmosphere was full of overwhelming atmospheres, even for me, who had dived many times into the ruins of an angel.
