Sword of the Philosopher

Winter Mountains

There are no special problems with the journey itself and we were able to reach Mount Ferno on schedule… the current season is winter. The summit was white, and if we were to set foot there, there was a possibility of a shipwreck.

As for dragon ringing flowers, they bloom even in winter due to the properties that absorb magic from the atmosphere... or all year round. It seems that the time when the seeds are sprouted determines when the flowers will bloom, and that if you walk you can find them quite a bit, which means you will step into the winter mountains.

"It's not that big, so it's easier to find in the winter"

"I see."

The other plants are largely dead... we step into the woods that exist at the foot of the mountain. The desolate world spreads and the wind reaches us through the gaps of the trees. The outfit and the like were also well groomed on the road, but in addition, the body is magically suppressed from getting cold.

Sounds like you won't freeze to death for one second as long as you can use magic... and here I am pointing to the summit of the mountain,

"I don't think we'll ever climb to the top just like that... how far are we going?

"It's winter, and it's about right after you go into the mountains?

"The weather in the mountains is changeable, and if you encounter a snowstorm, it's not the same thing."

Leese's point. That's right. There's magic, so I can do it compared to my previous life, but you want to avoid trouble.

"Then go through the woods..."

"Oh, just one caveat."

And, Eina raises her hand. And Sophia,

"What's going on?

"When I asked a neighboring village about the situation in the mountains, they said demons often appeared. So, in some cases, you might encounter it."

... I even have Reese in Sophia. Honestly, where the demon came from. So what? I don't think so, but is it forbidden to be cautious?

"We'll lead the way, so follow me."

So Eina turns her attention to the male knight. He took the lead and started walking without hesitation. Sounds like a knight with a grasp of the geography around here.

If the demons come out... me or Sophia are stronger, let me see how Eina and the others are doing here. Weirdly, even if we do, there won't be any standing.

As for the knights, I guess there are a lot of things I don't think about us being overwhelmingly strong who are supposed to be escorted... etc.

I look around casually. For one thing, there's no sign of a creature, and only the footsteps we go on are in our ears.

The knights are looking around without alarm, but at this rate, the road is going to end without a trace... and so on.

Follow this path to the foot of the mountain.

A knight in the lead speaks up.

"You just want to come back by the evening. There's a risk of shipwreck at night."

You look fine with this face, but I don't want to worry about it weirdly, you know.

"Is there a standard for picking what flowers or something?

Somehow raises questions. The answer to that was Sophia.

"Look at the fertility situation, right? There are cases where it is better to bloom along mountain skin"

"... nothing to do with the degree of flower growth and elevation, right?

"Dragon Ringing Flowers also pick people who live around this mountain. It will also be a herb. As a result, there are more flowers growing in the mountains where the villagers are not very close."

Oh, I see. In other words, will the villagers pick the flowers at the foot before they grow up?

"What is used for festivals like this one is in the mountains… but I think it would be just enough to go into the mountains and go a little further, as I said earlier"

"Right..."

We'll move on as we talk... and I'll sort of get my thoughts on Sophia.

It's in the form of engagement...... but does it feel like I'm finally becoming conscious? I've traveled with her and I know a little bit about her, but it's kind of strange that she and I are officially together again.

Think of it as a favor to her, Sophia and I had some sort of comrade-of-war pattern. To her, I may be what I can call a master, but this one has that impression. Most of all, I don't expect such a relationship to last forever. Because I knew what Sophia thought of me, and I was going to come to a conclusion again.

I'm fighting Star God as the head of the organization Elders Sword in the position of fiancée, and Sophia was saying that there is no change in the organization... but it changes a lot about my relationship with Sophia. How does that affect the organization… and therefore itself…

Well, I'm stopping. Suddenly his legs stopped, so did Sophia and Reese, who were around him.

"Master Luon?

"What's going on?

The knights who walk in front late also react. After turning his gaze this way, the leading knight,

"What's wrong?

"... just checking."

Ask as you look around.

"He said demons often appear, but do you know what kind of individuals?

"No, that's just about it... if it's just a form of appearance I've never seen, naturally I think the villagers would warn you too"

"Oh, you sure do. Just."

Here Sophia and Liese also guessed. And then Garc, too.

'... you're here. You've been very careful, Lord Luon. "

"Leave it to me that something like intuition worked... it's a sign of a demon, but it's pretty weird that you can hide it all the way around here?

If it's our strength, we can easily detect the signs of demons. That's not the case if you're a demon with no sign of it.

"... I don't care what you think, you're turning us down."

"You don't seem like a normal demon."

Reese shows vigilance. The knights also try to hang their hands on the sword pattern as they come here and look around.

"What do we do?

"... Reese, do you know where the demon is?

"Somehow. You're surrounded."

You were right. A demon suddenly came out of nowhere without us noticing... No, in this case, were you ambushing me? Anyway, the demons are surrounding us. I don't know how many, but haven't I crossed ten? We can handle enough, but don't be alarmed... the demon finally showed up.
