Sword of the Philosopher

Village at night

The night we discussed it, I looked out the window at the knights looking around, and I thought about the future. You'll be joining up with reinforcements coming from the castle first and hunting the mountains.

It is unclear whether there are enemies lurking in the mountains, but that mountain is sacred, and it is just not good to have a demon-producing presence nearby. Those who attacked us must at least be caught, so as soon as reinforcements arrive, we'll be on the move.

Since it takes at least a few days to do that, I was thinking about using this village as a base to go around the mountains and gather information… etc.

"... hmm?

Rise and shine. Is the area still dark and in the middle of the night?

Somehow I woke up feeling signs... there was one in the room. Sophia and Reese should be asleep in the next room.

Close your eyes a little and explore the magic. I immediately notice something strange and I get back to work. Sophia and Reese appeared from the next room at the same time as they left the room. Seems to have guessed as well as I did.

"Dear Luon..."

"Oh, sounds like it"

We leave the house while we have a conversation without a subject. It's cold out there, but I don't really care for the magic I can feel.

"Speaking of which, what happened to Yuno?

"I told you not to leave the room."

"Well... I don't think there's much danger if you don't go outside..."

"Master Sophia?

Eina approaches during the conversation.

"All three...... have you noticed in the house?"

"Yeah...... sounds like a demon though"

- The reason I woke up was because I realized there were demons around the village. If you're an individual with less magic, it's tough unless you're a little closer to detecting it, but not this time. Obviously there is a lot of magic.

The reason is obvious, and this demon is armed… The magic and thoughtfulness of the angels mentioned by Garc make us realize it.

"As an opponent, I may have planned a night raid, but if you can't hide that magic, you don't seem to be able to attack without finding it."

"The ambush has failed, but it hasn't changed the troublesome"

Eina says. There are knights moving in a hurry around... the problem is the number of soldiers and enemies here.

There are about ten of us in total, including knights. Naturally, we're here to get the flowers we need for the festival, so it's not a big place. When we were surrounded, the number of demons was mutual, so it was easy to deal with them, but this time while protecting the village... and the number of demons is large and surrounded.

As soon as we stay, soldiers are being dispatched from nearby towns. This was called in by Eina to get geographic information, etc., but if it's a normal demon, this time the enemy has the ability to play my traction magic anyway. Converting a soldier with only a very ordinary sword or spear into a force of war is impotent.

"Eina, what about the villagers?

First Sophia asks the important points.

"We are currently getting the village chief up to deal with it. In the middle of the village there is a rally point, but we are in the process of giving instructions to gather there. Guidance was given by soldiers who visited here."

"Yeah, then there doesn't seem to be any casualties... then we 're-"

"I wonder if it's best to split into three hands."

and Reese made a suggestion.

"The role of attacking demons and escorting assemblies… I think that's a means to destroy enemies quickly"

... The demon hasn't attacked this one yet. in a state of equilibrium, but must be prepared promptly for more than they will sooner or later set up. Is Reese's judgment a better choice among these?

"Luon, what do you think?

"... right, so let's move"

I don't have time for this, so I'll make an instant decision. And it's the split way.

"I decide to move alone. Sophia needs to act in pairs with Liese. Eina, along with the other knights, asks for the protection of the assembly center."

"Master Luon, where's Les Bailes?

"This is also the defense of the assembly center. It's not strange that we can't cover more individuals than we can surround ourselves and set targets for the rally point."

It is worse than harm to the inhabitants. Therefore, we decide to fight in a formation that will stop it.

Sophia and I agree, and we're on our way. At the same time, the demons move. But the pace is slow, and it feels like it's going to narrow the siege so as to lean over rather than raid at once.

In doing so, I created a demon to check the situation of the knights. Protect the villagers who have not yet reached the assembly point under Eina's command. Many walk slowly because it is late at night, and the knights are unable to concentrate on the villagers to fight.

Nevertheless, their actions succeeded in bringing the villagers together at the rally point. The demons don't even imitate destroying the house, so if they were stuck in the building for the first time, there wouldn't seem to be a problem... but shortly afterwards, the demon roar tore the dark night apart.

He seems to be threatening us. But this way, I casually arrange a light formation. Me and Sophia will be standing across the rally point, shaped like knights, Einah and Resvail protecting the perimeter of the rally point. There are also soldiers, but they act like they talk about keeping the villagers out in the assembly hall. I can't seem to fight, so what about the right materials?

Someone in the knight uses the lights to illuminate his surroundings. When I created the light again, I captured the demon in front of me. Being an armed demon is the same. In addition, the signs are not so different from those of individuals encountered during the day.

"... a raid by demons, but so many that the opponent has enough resources to turn to this kind of thing?

"I don't know, maybe more than this one assumes."

And Gark responded to my whining.

"Maybe this is a bigger story than I thought."

"... the atmosphere is that we're here to make a move, but then it's a lot shorter as an enemy."

'Sure. Even if you don't know the details of Lord Luon and his men, if you look for magic, you will recognize them as having menacing powers, and even if you can't do that, they repelled you once. Such raids are bad. But'

"But?"

When he asked back, Garc set aside between them,

"For example, if there was a grudge against Lord Luon and his men, you might think they were unscrupulous."

resentment...... if so, what is the other person like? Shortly after he began to imagine it all, the demons began their assault.
