Sword of the Philosopher
Crushed Civilization
We have time for Princess Emena to visit the mansion. So me, Sophia, and Reese will look into the other ruins while Forna goes ahead with the work. The first was a big win, and I had a little expectation after the second...
"This is not going to work."
"Right."
Sophia agrees with my whining. The second site was much decayed, and it was found that the corresponding years had passed. The location is not at the back of the mountain similar to the first place, and they didn't investigate or anything because no one came near them at the back of the cave... but honestly, it's collapsing to the point where they have no idea what the facility was.
"I mean, this is normal."
"So the relics found by the Holy King Rebait and where we found them were exceptions during the exception... I just don't know what caused it"
"It is true that magic existed when we visited the ruins... is there any reason that it lasted until modern times..."
"If you could tell the difference between that place and this place, you might be able to guess."
This is what Liese said. I shrugged so much,
"Then shall we find out about it this time? I'd rather go home with some information than just be here."
That's why I explore the ruins. There is no such thing as a protective golem here, but I can't imagine what kind of place it was because it's decaying.
"Um, it doesn't seem like an institute or anything,"
"Really? Considering the intervals, there seems to be some reason why there are so many rooms."
I tilted my neck at Reese's suggestion.
"Is that...?
Turn your gaze toward the room that was nearby as you spoke. It is completely weathered, so there is little about what was originally present in this ruin. There's a galley once, but it's just impossible to speculate with that.
"It just doesn't seem like an accommodation or a hospital because the size of the room isn't one-size-fits-all"
"Right."
Sophia looks elsewhere while agreeing.
"Shall we head to the back? There may be a large facility we saw in the hospital."
"Right."
I agree and move on. Eventually I got to the deepest part of the world... and I could barely tell it was a power section.
"Nevertheless, this is..."
"It's more like a retreat than a decay."
I wholeheartedly agree with Reese. There are things that appear to be traces of switchboards, but the switches and the like are naturally all weathered. And since there were clear bumps and so on in the location where the powered machine was positioned, I can see that... there is no such thing as galeches.
"It's not as if it's completely gone, but I can assume it's been taken outside."
"If so, you mean the facility here has been abandoned... then you can also nod that the magic is interrupted and the ruins themselves are decaying"
"Under the influence of the star god, because the spiritual veins were uneven, or something?
I turn my gaze to Sophia's words.
"Assuming this is a laboratory...?
"Yes, the facility I originally used, but the spiritual vein is strange… I just don't think it fits chronologically if the cause was Star God"
"At the time of the advent of Star God, ancient civilizations were collapsing... it's hard to believe that the spiritual vein changed before Star God himself appeared... well, it's not an impossible story, or maybe it stayed until after the collapse of civilization by Star God"
"Hmm..."
Reese squeals small there. I'm putting my hand on my mouth and discussing something.
"Hey Luon, not everyone who was developing civilization in ancient times, no matter how many star gods, has been crushed, right?
"... our ancestors are thought to have been unrelated to that kind of technology, but they certainly wouldn't be zero. Oh, Leese thinks that people like that put facilities in the back of the mountain to escape the difficulties...?
"Can you explain hospitals?
"Well for sure... someone broke in here after the collapse of the world by the star god," he said. It's just a question of how hard it is to build after an attack... "
In the end, don't keep the mystery. Well, I can look for any reason why this ruin is decaying, so in the end, I'm just going to have to keep telling you, and I don't have an answer.
"Well based on the fact that the power had been abandoned, there was no protective magic or anything like that here. So it's reasonable to assume it's collapsed. I can only speculate on why, so it doesn't even begin to debate here"
"... do you still have facilities elsewhere?
Sophia's biggest question. I don't know if I'm gonna get there.
"The hospital and the ruins discovered by the Holy King Rebait… If we can find any reason why those two survived, we can't deny the possibility of them remaining."
"As things stand, you're lucky you're done talking."
"That's the thing. Best of all, if Reese is right about why, but you can think of it as abandoned here, and it sounds harsh."
Nevertheless, there are two remnants of the ruins that we found… there are distances left, and there will be no room for Princess Emena to visit Forna's mansion. Should we cut this place off and focus on the device we got at the hospital?
"Dear Luon, what about Princess Emena?
"It's going well. There's no need for Sylvie and the others to intervene at all either... there's no doubt it's just a future development as the wise man saw it"
At least there is no change from our intervention... Well, based on the fact that the demon king's movements did not change dramatically in the form of keeping Sophia alive in the fight against the demon king, there would be no problem if the enemy didn't find out our movements.
"Just fine also means that, as predicted, the princess will visit Forna's mansion. So we don't have that much time left."
"You have to make a decision. Find out what you've got or continue your investigation."
"Forced to go by force," said Ali.
Reese's recommendations. Well, that's true.
"… go back to town for a moment and talk to me again"
No harvest here. So we decided to go back to town.
