Jiang Li knew Shen Yanzhi was just kidding, so she didn’t give it a second thought.

Her gaze fell on the computer screen. ’My skin looks a little rough. Maybe it’s because I’ve been so tired from traveling lately.’

She reached out and touched her face, then asked, "I’m going to get a spa treatment in a bit. Do you want to go home, or come with me?"

In the past, she would have been reluctant to spend this kind of money.

But things were different now. She was pregnant. ’If my skin gets any worse,’ she worried, ’Shen Yanzhi might like me even less.’

Shen Yanzhi replied without a moment’s hesitation, "I’ll go with you."

Jiang Li had already contacted a top-tier spa and booked a full-body treatment.

As soon as they entered, a greeter approached them. "Hello, and welcome to West Orange Health Spa. Do you have a reservation?"

The greeter said, "One moment." She then checked the appointment on a tablet before making a welcoming gesture. "Very good. This way, please!"

Jiang Li nodded. "Thank you."

She turned to Xu Shijie. "You guys can walk around the neighborhood. I’ll probably be a few hours. I’ll contact you ahead of time when I’m done."

She paused, then added, "Or you could take on a side job if you want."

After all, that’s a long time to wait, and a few grown men like them wouldn’t have much to do for entertainment.

’If they can pick up a side job, they can make some extra money. Why wouldn’t they want to do that?’

She had hired Xu Shijie and his men to be bodyguards, not to have them revolve around her twenty-four hours a day.

Besides, a spa shouldn’t be a dangerous place.

Xu Shijie didn’t argue, simply nodding. "Alright. Just remember to contact us immediately if you need anything."

And so, they went their separate ways. Xu Shijie and his men went to look for a side job, while Jiang Li and Shen Yanzhi followed the greeter to the main hall.

The greeter handed the couple off to the front desk receptionist, who immediately radioed for someone on her walkie-talkie. Moments later, a young woman in a uniform approached them, walking confidently on ten-centimeter heels.

She came to a stop about twenty centimeters in front of Jiang Li and inclined her head. "Miss Jiang, hello. I’m the staff member assigned to you today. You can call me Xiao Zhang."

"Yes, hello."

Xiao Zhang made a welcoming gesture. "Please follow me." She led the two to the elevators.

The elevator required a facial scan to operate; without a staff escort, you couldn’t even go up. It was much more secure than a key card system.

After all, with a key card, anyone who has the card can use it, whether they’re the owner or not.

But facial recognition was different. You couldn’t get past it unless you cut off someone’s face or had plastic surgery to look just like them.

And surely, no one would go so far as to steal a face or get surgery just to get upstairs.

The world probably wasn’t *that* crazy. Yet.

With a soft DING, the elevator stopped on the eighth floor.

Xiao Zhang invited the couple out of the elevator before asking, "Miss Jiang, would you like all your treatments done at the same time, or one by one?"

Jiang Li thought for a moment. "All at once, please."

’That would save time,’ she reasoned.

If Shen Yanzhi weren’t here, she would have definitely done them one by one. It would have been a perfect way to pass the time.

But with Shen Yanzhi waiting, she worried he’d get bored, so it was best to be as quick as possible.
