Chapter 132 - 56: Zhang Tao Manages the Properties
Zhang Tao never expected that Jiang Li wanted the boss’s phone number just to ensure his commission would be paid on time. And to think he’d assumed she was going to file a complaint against him.
He had truly measured a noble person by his own petty standards.
He had been so caught up in the thought of his huge commission that he hadn’t even considered the possibility of someone pocketing it.
It wasn’t until he heard Jiang Li’s phone call that he realized he had been celebrating too soon.
’That’s right,’ he thought. ’With a commission this large, there’s no way I could have secured the full amount on my own.’
As soon as Jiang Li hung up, Zhang Tao bowed deeply to her without a word of hesitation. "Miss Jiang, thank you so much. If it weren’t for you, I might never have seen that commission."
Jiang Li gave a casual wave of her hand. "It was nothing."
’The main reason was that Zhang Tao seemed like a decent person; otherwise, she wouldn’t have bothered making the call. Having been caught in the rain before, she now wanted to hold an umbrella for others when she could.’
Zhang Tao cheerfully drove them to a shop that made custom seals. After they explained what they needed, Jiang Li added an extra 1,000 yuan as a rush fee so the shop owner would prioritize their order. At most, they would only have to wait an hour.
Once the wait time was confirmed, Jiang Li turned to Zhang Tao. "You can head back now. There’s nothing else for you to do here."
Zhang Tao rubbed his hands together in anticipation. "Miss Jiang, I saw you bought so many properties at once. Will you be able to manage them all?"
’They say fortune favors the bold, and here was a golden opportunity right in front of him. Why shouldn’t he try to seize it?’
’Even if there was only a 0.01% chance, he had to give it a shot.’
’A huge commission was great, but that money would eventually run out.’
’But if he could become Jiang Li’s exclusive property agent, he could be making at least a million a month.’
’And it would be as simple as collecting rent.’
Jiang Li looked at Zhang Tao in surprise. "Oh? From the sound of it, you have something on your mind?"
’I didn’t notice it before,’ she thought, ’but he’s quite ambitious.’
’She actually liked people like him, who were willing to fight for their own opportunities. Only someone with ambition was worth her helping hand.’
Zhang Tao spoke frankly. "I want to be your property agent and help you manage your properties here."
A small smile touched Jiang Li’s lips. "And what makes you worthy of that trust? You have to bring something to the table."
Zhang Tao gritted his teeth and declared, "I can guarantee you’ll make over a hundred million a month in rental income alone."
At this, Jiang Li couldn’t help but laugh. She snapped her fingers. "If you can really pull that off, then on top of a monthly base salary, I’ll give you an additional 5% commission."
’If he could really bring in over a hundred million a month, a 5% commission was nothing. It was only five million, after all—a price she could easily afford.’
Zhang Tao’s eyes lit up. "Okay, you have a deal!"
Jiang Li didn’t reply. Instead, she quietly turned to the shop owner, who was carving the seal. "Sir, do you have a printer here? Can you print out a contract for me?"
"Of course."
"Great. Then please print out a copy of a contract for me."
There were plenty of contract templates online. In less than a minute, two freshly printed contracts were sitting on the counter.
Jiang Li wrote down the exact salary, benefits, and all the conditions they had just verbally agreed upon, word for word. After confirming there were no mistakes, she signed her name and added her thumbprint.
Zhang Tao didn’t even read it; he just signed his name and pressed his thumbprint.
He was afraid that if he hesitated for even a second, Jiang Li might change her mind.
’Besides, she was a major client. It’s not like she would try to screw him over.’
Seeing how eager Zhang Tao was—not even reading the contract—Jiang Li couldn’t help but add, "Well, since the contract is signed, you’ll be in charge of all the properties here from now on. I’m putting both my properties and my husband’s in your hands."
Zhang Tao instinctively glanced at Shen Yanzhi, who simply nodded. "Whatever my wife says, goes."
Jiang Li couldn’t help but cover her face. ’So embarrassing. I can’t show my face in public anymore.’
’And Shen Yanzhi... Couldn’t he have said that in private?’
’Did he have to say it in front of everyone? Has he no shame?’
Zhang Tao had the giddy expression of someone who’d just witnessed something incredibly romantic. "Right, I’ll get right on it!"
With that, he grabbed the contract and practically fled the shop, as if someone were chasing him.
Once he was out of the shop and back in his car, he was about to put the contract away when he finally noticed the base salary Jiang Li had written down: 100,000 a month.
He couldn’t help but gasp. "Good lord, what kind of angel boss did I just find?"
For a salary of 100,000 a month, he’d move heaven and earth to rent out every single one of Jiang Li and Shen Yanzhi’s properties.
He knew that at his current job, the base monthly salary was only a thousand or two. Even with commissions and performance bonuses, he sometimes didn’t even make 50,000.
