The Amber Sword

Chapter 20: Act IX The Battle of the Corpse Witch

The lower corpse witch is good at two spells, dark screen and rotting. Both spells are dark magic with elements of ‘evil’.

In the game, black magic is brought to the earth by the Minors. The Minors were servants of the Dragon of Darkness, who lived on the frozen soil plateau north of Cruz during the chaotic years leading up to the beginning of the first century.

Shamans of the Minyrs excelled in the use of psychic and dark witchcraft, which were later collectively referred to as black magic, as well as aggressive magic outside all elements, nature, and sacred factions.

After the jihad, Gilt, the King of Fire, drove these dark inhabitants to the cold east, and no one has said to have seen them since.

But the Minor must exist, and in the Black Code, the Dark Lords exiled to Madara learned from the children of these demons the inheritance of dark witchcraft.

But the dark screen, called dark magic, actually has some false names, because it is an auxiliary kind of hidden spell that happens to mask the movement of a small group of skull soldiers.

Of course, it is not completely invisible and disappears. You can imagine a barrier eye that blends into a dark background, yes, it doesn't mask the sound, the smell, everything but the sight, and it's also limited to a certain distance.

But in the night, this spell became the best cover for Madara's Undead Army, which is why Madara's army often chooses to operate at night.

As for decay, Freya and others had seen this terrible black magic once before on Joson.

This is a vicious attack spell and the main attack method of a corpse witch. It relies on negative forces to erode the enemy. The more negative emotions and weaker the will power of the enemy, the deeper the spell damage.

Until death.

This spell works with most black magic aberrations and is destructive by amplifying negative forces.

With mysterious black magic, skeleton soldiers commanding unthinkable abilities - stronger in themselves, and variable in nature, the corpse witch appears to be an insurmountable enemy.

But Sophie also knew a secret that the corpse witch itself was not capable of executing. Their true power comes from the sceptre in their hands, a powerful magical object that belongs exclusively to every corpse witch and turns back into an ordinary stick once they leave.

With that in mind, it is clear how the tactics surrounding it should unfold.

With the fall of another skeleton soldier, Sophie reminded that Freya, the strongest swordsman in the militia, was wrapped around Essen, left and right, the corpse witch who was preparing the spell.

“Attacking its hands, black witchcraft is less mysterious than you can imagine," Sophie pointed out later, pointing out the weakness of the undead monster: “See its gesture, obstruct it from completing the spell, take its scepter...”

The corpse witch suddenly raised her head and looked up at Sophie, flashing a ray of resentment in a green phosphorus fire. Sophie was suffocated and his throat dried for a while, and he knew he was being targeted - but our hero calmed down immediately, and it was impossible for the walker to bypass the militia and attack him.

Being targeted by a lifeless, icy monster is not an easy thing to do at all, and Sophie has to stop and wait for Freya and Essen's attacks to work.

The corpse witch smiled and shook the scepter. The darkness around her swayed like a ripple and drowned it. When Essen's sword was stabbed with a snowflake, but only one was stabbed, the dead monster's original location became empty.

“Huh?” The young man flashed slightly.

Sophie looks the same, these guys tricks he's too familiar with: "Ethan, on your left! ”

Essen didn't react at the moment.

But Freya, who had caught up from behind, had struck with a sword, and the sword had drawn a straight silver thread in a dark environment. She was about to reach the position Sophie had pointed out, but before that, the corpse witch had fallen and backed away.

Everyone saw the same shadow of running water retreating backwards.

“Humans, who are you! You're not a militia!” A sharp voice burst out of the shadows, and the corpse witch looked a little angry.

Indeed, the militias could not have known that much, and some of what Sophie had said even in Madara were circulated only among wizards.

But Sophie was silent, and Freya's second sword followed. The green light flashed in the orbit of the corpse witch, who hatefully lifted the sceptre and opened the sword of the girl, and the corpse witch had 1.7 energy levels, and Freya thought she would never be more powerful than Brando.

The attack on the ponytail girl was easily led aside, and she strode forward several steps before stopping, unconsciously covering her left shoulder immediately, slightly frowning.

The previous arrow wound seems to have split again...

“Big Sister, let Markmy come, your wounds...” Essen saw this scene and couldn't help but shout as he recruited a corpse witch to attack.

McMee and Little Finnish came up from behind.

“Little Finnish, you stay back!” But Freya pulled the sword across and stopped it in front of the furry little boy, shouting the command.

“But I'm a militia too!” The teenager shouted uncomfortably.

“Back off, you hear--! ”

Little Finnish was blushing and had a thick neck, but even then he wouldn't dare disobey Freya's orders. Among these young people, Freya has always been the leader, and the young girl is kind and has her own insistence. In fact, everyone is very comfortable with such a captain.

And Sophie shook her head in the back, and the battlefield wasn't the place to argue. But Ma Tai's insistence aroused his fondness, and girls like him were rarely seen in his world.

“The four of you go together.” He spoke in the back.

“Mr. Brando, you--!” Freya took a breath and couldn't help looking back at the young man lying on the rock - Roman was still on his side, looking innocently at this side and winking at himself.

This damned girl threw her enemies so soon!

She couldn't bear to be angry for a while.

“Corpse witches are tough enemies, and the four of you can cover each other.” Sophie answered honestly.

“But little Finnish...”

“He is also a militia. ”

Freya bit her lip, and she looked back. Markmy and Essen had lost their lives under the attack of a corpse witch. If the immortal monster was given the chance to perform spells, I'm afraid the team would have to be demobilized again.

That's not affordable to her.

To think of it, she just nodded: "Okay. ”

“Hooray! Brando, you're amazing!” Little Phoenix shouted and immediately sheathed his sword. But Freya grabbed his collar behind him and pulled it back, seriously ordering, "You follow me, you stay out of my cover, understand?”

“Ooh...” The voice of disappointment.

As soon as Freya and Little Finnish joined the fight, the situation was reversed, and she and Essen were already the best swordsmen in the Bucchi militia, and surprisingly, Little Finnish was no less sophisticated - in Sophie's words, the child's aggressive intentions and resolute and precise use of swords - unlike Eruin's military swordsmanship in pursuit of defensive integration, more like Cruz's aggressive warfare swordsmanship.

But from that point of view, from the point of view of a senior warrior, it's already highly regarded.

Sophie thinks maybe when Little Finnish grows to Brando's age, swordsmanship won't suck at all, but it's a little less spiritual, of course - because Brando was born for battle.

Sometimes he wonders, if that young man had not died in history, but had grown up in war, wouldn't the final achievement have been any darker than Freya's?

Unfortunately, things are volatile and history is not if.

Of course, the most important part of this battle is the reminder that young people are wearing it. Sophie seemed to completely see through the idea of the corpse witch, and he could point it out with one small attempt.

What's he gonna do?

Why would it do that?

Is it preparing a spell?

When do you need to interfere with it?

The more a dead witch strikes, the more shocked she is, the less inspired she will be, but the same will happen. And finally, it was almost screaming, “Who are you, the Wizard of the Dead? Or the Black Knight? ”

In exchange for Freya's merciless sword and the high flying claws of her sceptre, the monster screamed and the green fire in her deep orbit was dim.

“Damn humans...”

The battle eventually ended with a sword in Makhmi's middle rules, before which the corpse witch had been tired of dealing with it, and after both hands and sceptres had been broken, it howled unwillingly and watched the snowy blade cut into its skull.

Ka rubbed it and the soul fire burst out of its body, which was the monster's dying counterattack, but only Essen's right hand was slightly burned when Sophie warned him to dodge slightly slower.

Others, on the other hand, also killed the remaining two bone skeletons at the expense of one man, and when the forest returned to calm, only the wind swept over the top of the forest and sand sounded lightly.

Everyone couldn't bear to stop and look at each other.

Everyone, including Freya, is incredible. They actually won, facing four skeleton soldiers and a terrible corpse witch.

The sword on Makhmi's hand was first slammed when it fell to the ground, and then a chain reaction from the others. Everyone couldn't bear to hug each other, yell and scream, and even some people cried to vent their feelings.

The rest of your life after the robbery is a bit of a trance of will.

Sophie calmed down, and he looked up and saw three golden spots flying out of the darkness and into his chest. And no one around seems to notice this detail, not even Roman standing beside him.

Miss Merchant is relieved.

Is he the only one who can see this? Sophie couldn't help but be a little strange.

He looked around and unconsciously opened the character properties, just as he was still in the 'Sword of Amber’, and Sophie was always the first to look at it after the battle had ended.

A line of dark green numbers immediately appears on the retina--

Power 1.1, Smart 2.0, Physical 1.0, Intelligence 1.1, Will 1.3, Perception 1.0.

Absolute Power 3.5, Elements (uncultivated) ——

Brando, Human Male, Level 1 (Strength System: Physics, Melee; Talent: Indomitable)

XP: 4 (civilian level 1: —, militia level 2, 610)

Life (weak, dying): 10% (bandaged, restores 1 point of life per day)

Induction (idle skill experience 1) ——

Civilians [Basic knowledge (Level 1), Geographic knowledge (Level 0), Local knowledge (Level 1)]

Militia [Military Swordsmanship (Level 1), Martial Arts (Level 1), Tactical Theory (Level 0), Military Organization (Level 0)]

Changing attributes can be found to be strength and physique, indicating that his physique has been improved from the training (upgrading) of the militia profession.

Absolute power is then increased by 2.5 energy levels, mainly due to a clever boost of 1 point of the wind ring, and a minor change in physical fitness.

Finally, in this battle, he gained only four points of experience from four skeleton soldiers and one corpse witch. Only half of the experience it deserves, Sophie thought about it and finally had to come to the conclusion - team punishment.

This is ridiculous. How could there be such a thing in the real world? But as a gaming house, he doesn't have the expertise to explain all of this, and after all, it's a much more ridiculous thing to go through than this.

Isn't it?

At first he also wanted to figure out how the team punishment here was calculated, but he quickly found it futile because it didn't seem to have anything to do with the game.

“Lord Martha, I'm glad I'm nervous...” He couldn't help but hold his forehead for a few headaches.

But then Sophie stared at his militia ranks and hesitated. To be honest, he didn't really want to continue to invest in this profession. The militia's waste wood really didn't need to be described in language, so much so that it was always called a profession dedicated to NPC.

In his last life, he had no idea he was going to waste a day in this profession.

And chose not to yield to this gift!

Martha, there are too many talents for a warrior, and not giving in happens to be the worst one. The skill is to spare him a deadly physical blow, but he only has five minutes to tell the story, unless he gets powerful enough treatment before then.

But so far he hasn't seen anything more powerful than a bandage to restore life, you know, in games these things are everywhere.

But Sophie didn't regret it so much, at least the skill saved his life, did it?

But the same is true now, when he is temporarily unable to find a way to take up another occupation. And he's in desperate need of strength, so the only way to do it is to go black in the militia profession--

Sophie couldn't help feeling a little depressed for a while.

From a veteran soldier to a veteran militia? Hey, didn't the warrior have enough ashes?
