The Amber Sword

Chapter 22: Act XI The Will of Both Parties

The light in the temporarily occupied hall was bright and dark, the candle fire was deliberately reduced, and the dim light dragged a deep scratch on the texture of the wood.

The secluded corners are quiet and the air is filled with lush scents.

All of you here are not very comfortable with the bright light, but as long as the pale, blindfolded, middle-aged man at the top doesn't say anything, everyone else won't dare to do it.

If Sophie were here, she might recognize this man, because his face hardly changed after more than a decade: this is Lord Black's assistant, Baron Vampire, ‘One-Eyed’ Tagus. He's from the Manline family, fourteenth generation vampires, and a younger generation. But compared to his qualifications in the Maddala Army, he is much deeper than an Instarone like a hairy boy.

But it doesn't matter, it's just the beginning of cooperation between them--

Tagus watched the skeleton soldiers stack the paperwork out of the library, paused for a while, and he turned around and asked the corpse witch beside him, "Go ahead, Roscoe, what did you stay for? ”

“Dear General Tagus, my master found a scourge in that estate.” The corpse witch lowered her head and replied with a bleak voice.

“So?” He glanced at it and retracted his gaze onto the open tactical map.

“He escaped. ”

There were a few snickering laughs around.

The vampire general raised his head and his slight voice immediately subsided. He stopped and said, "I know, Roscoe did a great job. But I hope it's better if he doesn't get distracted at the end of these branches —— I want to see him rushing to Beledore Forest by noon. ”

The corpse witch nodded and retreated.

But it had just left, and there had been a noise of discord in the conference room. This speech is about a tall skull covered in an old brass armor with a dark yellow flame flashing in its orbit that reveals an outrage:

“Lord Tagus, perhaps mankind has discovered our intentions, that scourge...”

It opened its mouth, but suddenly there was no sound in the jaw of the leak. Because it saw that Tagus was staring at him with the only remaining eye, and that look made him shut up unconsciously.

There was a laugh around him, and the irony inside made the spark in his eyes flash with annoyance.

“Kabbas. ”

“Yes!” replied the tall skull.

“You go get this place.” Tagus points to a village on the map.

“Before sunrise," he pointed to the roof again: "I want to see the results...”

“Yes, Lord Tagus. ”

“Wesa, Eberton. ”

“Yes!” replied the same voice.

“You attack Webin and seal off Dagger Beach. ”

“Yes, Lord Tagus. ”

“Crow mouth. ”

“Yes!”

“Give you two squadrons to search and clear the area. ”

“Yes!”

Tagus raised his head and swept through everyone cold: "You are nobles in the dark, and we want to see you gracefully and swiftly carry out every command I give you. Riedenberg, this is our next goal. ”

He stood up with his head up and put his pale hand on his left shoulder and said, "Madara will win ——”

All the dead spirits stood up and responded with a silent voice: "Madara will prevail --”

Tagus lowered his head and glanced back at the map again. He first saw the Red Pine Forest south of Butch, then moved up to Green Village, Beledore Forest, and then Ridenburg —— keep going up, Spikestone Valley.

Human scourge? He smiled cold.

……

And at the same moment, when the full moon is at the top of the pine forest.

There are no wolves howling in the mountains of Yupine, but there is a wind in the black pine forest. The cold wind crosses the branches of the tree like a light smoke. It is cold and makes people feel a little cold on their vests. The young people of Butch had never spent the night outside, and the foggy darkness of the forest always called them skeptics, as if they were a terrible monster in every shadow.

But a voice calms their hearts--

“Press this position. ”

“Yes, it is. ”

“Water -”

“Give me the bandage. ”

“Keep it down. ”

Finally, Sophie wiped a sweat and took a long breath.

He saw a pale green +2 emerge from the young man's body, so he was relieved.

The effectiveness of the bandage response is also naturally improved once the first aid skill reaches the primary level (level 0). There's no difference between this book and the game, but each and every part of Sophie's memory gives him a lot of relief.

How to clean the wound, prevent infection, stop the bleeding, bandage and have any details to pay attention to, tricks, he guided Markmy and Niberto a little bit through all this. Of course, he didn't have the strength to operate himself, and his own weakness was just a little better than that of Joseph in a coma.

And it wasn't until Niberto had completed the final step at his behest that Sophie looked up and found everyone staring at him.

Professional.

There is only one comment in their hearts.

Even Little Finnish turned around and said to Freya in earnest, "Big Sister, it seems like your technique is quite second to none.”

As for Freya standing beside the crowd, she looks like water.

Sure enough, it was an excuse to get close to yourself, shameless! She couldn't help but conclude, and she looked at Roman with some concern, but saw that the latter was counting the loot on the ground with a small face.

This damned girl.

But unfortunately, only Sophie herself knew that his knowledge stemmed from the skill of 'field first aid', and it was only when he recalled that skill in the list that these lessons appeared in his memory. In young people's memories, much of the primary field first-aid knowledge comes from the first three sections of the book, "The Holy Cross of Gulson," which focuses on bandaging techniques. Sophie happens to know Galson in the game, now the great priest of Prague.

He saw what was in this book as if it had been studied hundreds of times. The feeling of being responsive is like learning to rescue with a plug-in.

Unfortunately, Dafan had to pay for the plug-in as well ——

On the other hand.

Sophie soon learned that there were in fact ten members of the third wing of the Butch militia, including Freya, who were in turn more familiar with Markmy, Essen, Ike and Little Finnish.

Then Niberto and Vlad, who were less inclined to talk, were the mountaineers who had migrated from the Bora region, adhering to the silent and oligarchy character of the locals, and the love officers spoke more than they did.

Then there was Joson, but the latter was unconscious and had little chance of waking up.

And the dreamer lady, and the girl with her. Sophie later found out that she was the daughter of a town baker, but she behaved somewhat shy and not as generous as the other two ladies.

This girl, Bertha, has a soft personality, but at least she's a nice, kind girl.

That's all Sophie needs to deal with, and she looks like a very good young man, but Sophie knows that this is a new group of people, and she has no idea what they're going to face.

So he thought about it, and he asked, “Do you have any plans? ”

The next moment, the smile on his face disappeared in exchange for a silence.

“We're going to Lidenburg.” Later, Ethan suggested.

“You're right, Captain Madden. They'll be there.” Ike Yamato.

Not surprisingly, but Sophie shook her head.

He looked up at the young people and saw in their faces silence and impatience over tomorrow's wandering. Even though Freya seemed a little better, holding the blade handle with her hands wide open betrayed her true mood.

Only Roman answered naturally: "I'm with Brando. ”

This answer is called Sophie and she's angry and funny. But the frankness of the businesswoman made me feel good, and the young man stopped and said, "Well, there's one thing I agree with you —— the most important thing for us right now is getting out of here. ”

“That means there's a disagreement, right?” Freya asked.

Sophie nodded: “Does anyone have a map? ”

Everyone looks at each other. Who would have something like that? Although they are militias, in most cases they are also under the command of local guards. In other words, they're just reserves.

And Sophie realizes she's lost her mouth, and in Eruin, carrying the map privately without the authorization of the temple can be treated as treachery. He always brings himself into the identity of a traveler, forgetting that he's already a part of the world.

And here, there are no more players.

“The guard seems to have...” Markmi replied stubbornly behind the crowd.

Sophie shook her head and said it was bullshit. He sighed and turned to the merchant lady beside him and said, "Roman, give me a sword. ”

“Okay, Brando. ”

Sophie took the sword and drew two lines on the soft ground.

“This is the Wade, this is the Yu Song River. ”

He used the tip of his sword to dot several times between the two rivers: “This is Butch, this is Qingcun, and this is Webin. ”

He just outlined a few simple lines, but he opened the eyes of young people again. After all, in this day and age, few people have ever known him so much about the world...

“Isn't that three towns?” Bertha couldn't help but cover her mouth.

“It's amazing. So here we are.” Ike looked at Sophie's eyes with some admiration.

“Is Butch here? ”

“Brando, how do you know?” Everyone asked in all their mouths, after all, whether they were young people or could not hold back their hearts.

Sophie shook her head.

Just kidding, he doesn't recognize any of the new villages in the three towns, so he might as well find a tofu to kill him. Of course you can't answer that. He deliberately asked, "Didn't you learn that tactical map? ”

Tactical map? What the hell is that?

Everybody's lost their minds. Martha's up there. Do Prague's militias have to learn this?

We all had to admire each other a little blindly for a while.

But our protagonist laughed in his heart, and even ordinary junior officers in the regular army wouldn't have control of this stuff, and it's not until the militia learns. But of course he won't tear himself apart face-to-face, but he did a little at the intersection of the two rivers:

“This is Riedenberg. ”

“Ah, is this Lidenburg?” Roman asks curiously.

“What's the matter?” Sophie couldn't help but look up and ask when she heard the whispering grin coming around her.

“Here's the thing, Brother Brando. Roman envied the Riedenberg merchant as a child, arguing every day to become a businessman, and once she went out and said she was going to Riedenberg to do a big business, and it turned out ——” Little Finnish not only immediately voted against the treason, but also sold a shuttle.

People around them couldn't bear to laugh low for a while.

“And the result?” Sophie asked.

“Ha ha, she got lost in the woods halfway, then Uncle Hill went to get her back.” Little Finnish laughed.

“No, that's not true.” Roman's eyebrows are up.

Sophie looked at the future merchant lady and couldn't help but think that the lesson didn't learn enough.

“Well, let's get back to the point. Why do you want to go to Lidenburg?” He cleaned up his emotions and continued to ask.

“There's an army there. ”

“Captain Madden, they'll definitely be there. ”

“So is my uncle.” Once again, the crowd spoke loudly, but all meant one thing: they each had their own relatives, who were separated for a while, but perhaps they would go to Lidenburg, so why not go to Lidenburg?

This answer makes Sophie uncontroversial, and it's perfectly normal. Who would leave their loved ones behind? But he also knew that those who escaped from Butch, 89 out of 10, would be chased by Madara's army. And now going to Riedenberg is just a self-pitching net.

Sophie knew perfectly well that at this time they had to march in parallel with Reaper Kabbas and stagger it one step into the Belledor Forest, then grab Dagger River Beach before Alberton and Wesa were surrounded. From there, they will enter the deer hunting forest, rub the main force of the Installon and arrive in Anzek and inform the local guards of their plans to march into the Gustav wing of the Installon.

It is only in this way that they will be preserved, and Eruin will not be defeated as tragically as in history.

But how is he going to talk?

Forget it, it's the old rule. Take a step and count. He rubbed his own somewhat sunken forehead and changed his mouth: “Fine, we can go in the direction of Liedenburg first and decide what to do next, depending on the situation. ”

And then he looked up, just as he was worried about Freya, and the girl obviously didn't quite believe him.

“Mr. Brando? ”

“Nothing, just a judgment. Maybe things will change.” He smiled at the girl. But to say so, he couldn't help but sigh.

The reality is cruel, and it is up to him, who is powerless and weak, to choose. Of course, if he had the chance, he would find a way to try it.

Homeboy, that's so naive.

He couldn't bear to mock himself...

……

(PS. Grades never go up, hey.)
