The Amber Sword

Chapter 270 Act XXX Expansion (XI) (1st Preliminary)

The weather is slightly bright in the morning, but there are still cold factors in the air that haven't faded overnight, and water vapor cages in the mouth and nose as people and horses breathe, during a time when winter breath can already be felt in Tonigal.

The teams of men and horses pass through the valley between the two mountains, and the forests surrounding them are in fact a kind of cold black, like the ink painting coming out, and further afield, the mountains are green behind the clouds.

More than thirty people in a row, each with a full body, each carrying a weapon; these are unproductive soldiers, but not professional soldiers of Eruin, but mercenaries. In the Tonigle area, professional soldiers can only be seen in the vicinity of Pallas, where the most elite knights of Groudin converge on a hillside fortress stretching north from the Grahar Mountains.

After crossing the valley, the squadrons entered a small area surrounded by four-sided forests, where another group stopped while they were watching several young people sitting on the ground, frustrated.

These young people heard voices and raised their heads to see the serious faces of the middle-aged aristocrats led by the visitors. Most of them showed a sense of sincerity and fear; but only the young people clustered together by them did not move their voices, although there was only some frustration.

The middle-aged nobleman rode on his beloved horse, called the Black Fox, tall and covered in black, like a smooth satin - the purest of horses of northern descent - and when he was young, the horse accompanied him to his birth and death, and even though he is now in his twilight years of valor, Sir Mintai still has deep feelings for it.

He looked down at the young men and said nothing.

This man is Sir Mintai, and these men and horses are his men. The former had been informed many days earlier of the rebellion of the Cold Cedar Baron's insurgency, but the well-thought-out nobleman had not made his first move; in Eruin, the minister had broken into the territory of the head of the family without the order of the lord and the rebellion, and Sir Mintai had repeatedly confirmed that the news was reliable before ordering his knights to leave.

The Mintai area was bordered by Baron Cold Cedars and his army was almost at dawn; he assembled his troops overnight and had left the hilly area of Mintai the following morning to enter the flat valley along the Gulls River. The Gells ferry was not occupied by mobs as early as the return ferry was in sight, and many people in the town had no idea what was happening in Cold Cedar City. And the cavalry has gone ten miles along the coast, and no trace of mob activity has been found.

Sir Mintai was not surprised by the information received that only a few mercenaries were involved in the riots in Cold Cedar City, who were simply lawless and could have done anything. These guys in his eyes are no different from the bandits, and after a loot there is a good chance that they will soar away.

As for further control of the ferry, unless the other party attempted to take advantage of the Baron Cold Cedars' collar, Sir Mintai thought he was thinking too much; the other party was just a bunch of mercenaries, enthusiastic about money, who were unlikely to wait there to be wiped out.

What he was worried about was whether there was a figure of Madara behind it. After all, the Army of the Dead was still in the South, but now it seems that the situation is quite clear.

It's just a riot.

This relieved Sir Mintai.

But his good mood didn't last long, and a disturbing message reached him in his ears through the mouth of his relatives, which is why he now brings more than thirty people into the mountains.

The young man, clustered in the middle, was wearing a light brown coat with a long blade plate leg sitting on the floor facing him - his eyebrows were somewhat similar to the jazz himself, just one of his youngest sons.

The youngest son is one of his three favorites, brilliant and talented since childhood. The jazz's dedication to him was quite heartfelt, but the latter was unseemly. Early visitors were reluctant to be serious officers, and later sent him to the adjacent territory of Brother Mahoru to study in the hope that he would restrain his personality. Instead of wishing to do so, some strange ideas were added to his mind after he had grown up outside.

The transmitting relatives had already told him the whole story. When he was caught up, the young master intended to leave the house with his servants and attendants. The exact reason was not known, but Sir Mintai was angry when he saw only these young people on the ground.

“Go ahead,” he asked on his horse's back. "What's going on? ”

The young man sitting on the ground cared nothing for his prestige and lifted his chin: "That's boring, Father. ”

“Humph," Sir Mintai sighed, “I'll show you once you're going to experience the war. But what the hell is going on here? You better explain it to me--”

“War? It's just a mob. What kind of war is this little mess?” The young man smiled and said with disdain. But he looked up and said, “Father, you know what? It is rumored that Her Royal Highness Princess Griffin has returned to her land and is assembling her knight--”

Sir Mintai was stunned, he was noble but pathetic, of course he had heard rumors of the north, but it was the feast of the big characters and had nothing to do with people like him who didn't even count as chess pieces on the board.

“What does this have to do with you?” He asked.

“Of course it matters," the young man said with enthusiasm, "the next battle to determine the fate of this country, and I have decided to devote myself to such a magnificent history to following Her Royal Highness -”

Sir Min Tae had no idea that his youngest son was thinking like this. After a moment, he said, “You've never been out before. Do you know where Her Highness is? What's going on out there now? ”

“I have my own way.” The young man said confidently.

Sir Mintai was helpless, knowing that he had been smart since he was a kid, maybe he really found a way out. But he shook his head and threw it away, and he said, "Do you have any way I don't care, but you better find a way to convince me--”

“Father,” the young man stood up hastily, arguing, "You can't keep me either. Why don't you let me go out and break out of heaven and stay in Tonigal to guard this family business for the rest of your life is your last generation, and for me, a true knight should build his own merit in the war...”

“War, have you ever seen war?” Sir Mintai couldn't help but be cynical. He was also a knight following Groudin when he was young, and although he had not fought personally in many years, he remained in the habit of being an airman until many years later. He was indifferent to the war to which those young people had spoken, as if it were of a romantic colour.

But suddenly he stopped and, while studying with Brother Mahoru, his youngest son followed Sir Parras in his war skills. Sir Parras is a first-class veteran here in Tonigal, although he has no reputation for the whole of Eruin.

On the fortress at the northern edge of Mount Grahar, Sir Parras commands the most elite knights under Groudin, who, on the one hand, must guard against attacks by other nobles and, on the other hand, fight the native hillbillies of the southern part of the Dnell region for many years. The bandits in Tonigal can be as gentle as the little sheep compared to those in the professional bandits, so it should be said that in this area, the image of a serious soldier appears first and foremost in the hearts of all Sir Parras.

Sir Mintai remembered that his son was also involved in the war between indigenous mountain people, and that he was not less experienced in combat than he was likely to be.

So he shook his head and said, "Well, I'll give you a chance to convince me. ”

“What chance?” Young people have come to be interested.

“Be my assistant, let me see your performance. If you can do this job, on the one hand, I'll let you go.” Of course Sir Min Tae didn't think so, it was just a tactic to slow down his army. He thought that there was no time to get involved with the boy now, and naturally there was time to take care of him after the battle.

Now that the boy likes to fight, just throw it in the guy's hands —— Sir Mintai is thinking, of course, Sir Parras. Though it's been rumored that the two most powerful knights in Groudin's crew have not enjoyed so much rapport, in fact, his personal affair with each other has been quite good.

But the young man perceived his father's thoughts, and his light blue eyes turned and smiled: “Father, the other side is just a mob. Are you making a big deal out of this? ”

“Hmm, didn't you follow Joe Matt for so long to learn the art of war--” Sir Mintai suddenly realized that this was a good idea, looking for something to drain the boy's excess energy; he remembered an unreliable recent news and decided to add a fire, "I heard there was a young leader in the mob, about your age, who had become commander-in-chief of the army; instead, you bragged about yourself all day and didn't see any amazing achievements, and now I'm giving you this opportunity you don't want to let go? ”

Sir Mintai did receive information that one of the people who led the riots was a young man, but as to the age and ability of the other, it was purely his message. He doesn't care who leads the mob, it's all a bunch of people, so to speak, it's just to make his strategy work.

“A plot of excitement can have little effect on a knight, Father,” the young man said orally, but the expression of apparent interest in his face betrayed him. “But okay,” he nodded himself: “I agree, I'm just going to see who this man is. ”

Sir Mintai has no expression on his face, but his heart laughs. He thinks that Kang is still old and spicy. Your boy is smarter and I'm still going to play with him. And finally, this dark pride turns into an exclamation: Young man, it's still too impulsive.
