Harold Howard, on the other hand, shot to his feet, his body swaying slightly in shock. He subconsciously took half a step forward, then stopped abruptly, his tone laced with urgency and inquiry.

"Miss, are you sure you’re not mistaken?"

Luna Dawson looked at their astonished expressions, feeling completely unfazed.

’I’ve been given a second chance at life,’ she thought. ’The most important thing is to live comfortably with my family.’

’If I keep hiding it, it’ll be inconvenient to take things out of my space. It’s better to just come clean and say it’s a superpower.’

’In my past life, there was a dual-ability Superpower User from the military at the Southen Base, so it’s not like being a dual-type is impossible.’

’Life is hard in the apocalypse now. The only way for my family to handle all sorts of trouble is to become stronger.’

’As for hiding some of my strength, that’s just an extra layer of insurance for myself and my family.’

Her mind made up, Luna Dawson twitched her fingertips. A wisp of cool water vapor slowly condensed in her palm, instantly forming a perfectly round, crystal-clear orb of water that floated steadily above it.

Then, with a flicker in her eyes, a mountain bike materialized in the next second, resting solidly in the entryway.

Witnessing this with their own eyes, Yana Grant, Sarah Summers, and Harold Howard’s mouths fell open wide enough to fit a fist. They were so shocked that their breathing stopped for a moment.

Their gazes swept back and forth between the floating orb of water and the mountain bike that had appeared out of nowhere. All their previous doubts were completely overturned, leaving only an indescribable astonishment.

After a long moment, Yana Grant finally snapped back to her senses. She took several deep breaths to suppress the turmoil in her heart. Her hand holding the pen was still trembling, but she quickly recorded the relevant information in the registration log.

She couldn’t help but mutter, "Dual-ability... a real dual-ability user... I have to report this to the base leadership immediately..."

Sarah Summers and Harold Howard also came to their senses. They exchanged a look, each seeing the profound shock in the other’s eyes.

Sarah Summers bent down to pick up the dropped folder, his fingertips still tingling slightly. He murmured in agreement, "This is incredible. I’ve actually seen a real dual-ability Superpower User..."

Hearing Sarah Summers’s words, Luna Dawson couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh. "A ’real’ dual-ability Superpower User? Are there fake ones?"

Her smile was as bright and beautiful as a blooming peach blossom, tinged with a girlish, innocent charm that left Sarah Summers momentarily mesmerized.

Seeing her subordinate’s dazed expression, Yana Grant quickly explained, "We just saw two names listed as dual-ability users in a document from the higher-ups. We’ve never met one in person, which is why he said that. My apologies, we’ve made a bit of a scene, Miss Dawson."

Sarah Summers snapped out of it. "I’m sorry, I was just so surprised."

A faint blush crept onto his face as he spoke. He scratched his head in embarrassment, reined in his earlier eagerness, and sat back down in his seat.

The moment he settled in, he was pinned by an icy gaze.

Sarah Summers’s heart tightened. He cautiously raised his eyes to investigate and met the pitch-black gaze of the tall man standing next to Luna Dawson.

Just one look made his heart tremble violently, and he secretly sucked in a sharp breath. ’Just who are these people?’

After that, Kevin Keane, maintaining a cold poker face, and the rest of the family completed their superpower declarations and verifications one by one.

Yana Grant and her team meticulously recorded each person’s superpower information on the registration form, noting the results of the ability tests. Her hand trembled slightly as she wrote.

Every single one of them was a Superpower User—even the family dog and cat had superpowers!

Harold Howard: !!!

Sarah Summers: !!!

They even had a Healing System Superpower User!

This family was practically a complete Special Operations Team, with a full range of superpower types!

Right now, the Military Command gave top priority to protecting people with Space and Healing Abilities.

Even the dispatched rescue teams hadn’t reached the point where every squad was equipped with one of each.

After taking a deep breath, Yana Grant, her expression back to normal, handed the registration log to Luna Dawson. "Please check the registered information. If everything is correct, please sign in the confirmation field on each page."

After the signatures were confirmed, she handed a stack of ID cards to Luna Dawson. "These are your family’s ID cards, which also serve as the universal point cards within the base. Please keep them safe. All future purchases, supply requisitions, and mission applications will require them as proof."

With that, the three-person team gathered their registration materials and walked in a daze toward the next villa.

They weren’t even sure how they got out of the villa’s main gate. As Mrs. Dawson, Miles Dawson, and her grandfather saw them off, they each stuffed a handful of ginger candies into the team’s pockets.

The moment they were out of the villa’s courtyard gate, the most excitable one, Harold Howard, couldn’t hold it in any longer. "Every single one of them is a Superpower User! And one is a dual-ability user! Even that fat puffball has a superpower! What did their ancestors do to deserve that kind of luck?!"

Yana Grant was also reeling internally. An entire family of twelve awakening powers at once was rare, not just in all of Kensington, but in the entire nation of Celestia.

The chance of awakening as a Superpower User is over one percent, yet every single one of them did.

Sarah Summers took out a piece of ginger candy and stared blankly at the wrapper.

He spoke slowly, "And their whole family is so kind. Miss Luna Dawson is very gentle, too. Not like some of the other Superpower Users we’ve met, who are so arrogant. Some of them even look at us like they want to eat us."

After all, since the apocalypse began, their Military Command had gradually rescued many communities and encountered plenty of arrogant and overconfident people.

Many Superpower Users, upon discovering their abilities, immediately thought they were the chosen ones.

Some even refused rescue, unwilling to follow the military to take shelter at the National Sports Center.

Worse still, some carved out their own territory near their homes, lording it over everyone and preying on the weak.

Fortunately, the Military Command’s rescue efforts were timely. Once discovered, all of them were taken down.

The Kensington Base covered a huge area, and so far, they had only cleared the zombies from a few sectors.

Most of the people within the base’s walls were still living in dire straits, caught in the midst of the zombie crisis.

Yana Grant’s gaze swept over the two men, her tone tinged with a knowing sigh. "Kindness is a quality that only flourishes when life is good. Those people in the residential areas before... they weren’t born cold. They were kind once, too.

"It’s just that when the apocalypse suddenly hit, the extreme environment crushed any sense of stability, and the darkness deep within human nature was completely unleashed.

"Tell me, when a person stands at the crossroads of survival and kindness, how many choices do they really have?

"Most of the time, it’s not that people are inherently evil. It’s that reality is too cruel, forcing them into desperate situations."

The two men nodded, stunned. Harold Howard nudged Sarah Summers from behind Yana Grant.

He said with a wicked grin, "You, my friend, were staring so hard at the young lady just now, you were practically drooling."

Faced with his friend’s teasing, Sarah Summers’s face turned so red it looked like it might start bleeding. He quickly tried to defend himself, "I... I... I was just shocked by her superpower, that’s all..."

Harold Howard shot him a look. "Sister Miller, look, doesn’t Sarah look like a ripe tomato right now?"

Yana Grant pressed her forehead. "I think you two look like a couple of big oafs."

The group chatted a little more before hurrying toward the next villa.

Looking across the several villa districts in this area, there were dozens more three-person registration teams just like them. They followed their planned routes, going from door to door, methodically carrying out the verification and registration work.

The sounds of knocking, questions, and the flipping of pages in logbooks intertwined. Against the backdrop of roaring helicopters, they sketched out the initial silhouette of order being rebuilt after the military takeover.
