Chapter 1755: The Great Desolation Divine Hall

"Good heavens, the guardians inside are absolutely monstrous!"

"I know, right! The guardian in the sixth level is unbelievably overpowered."

"Damn, you made it to the sixth level? I got beheaded in the fifth. I honestly thought I was dead for sure!"

Outside the ruins, more and more people were being teleported out. They gathered together, each one complaining about their experience.

"Damn it! If my elemental force hadn't been sealed, I could have cleared at least six levels."

"Hah, as if! If my vitality power had still been available, I could've smashed those guardians to pieces with a single punch!"

A martial practitioner from the Beihan Region snorted dismissively.

As time passed, more and more martial practitioners were teleported out. Nearly a hundred people had entered the Great Desolation Ruins, yet fewer than one in ten would ultimately reach the Great Desolation Divine Hall.

On the Dongling Region side, people such as Murong Bai and Ao Jue were also teleported out one after another. Even Shi Haoxuan met defeat when he faced the guardian of the seventh level.

Shi Haoxuan's strength relied primarily on his Great Sun True Energy[1]. With his elemental force sealed, he was practically fighting with one arm missing. The fact that he reached the seventh level already proved the depth of his strength, along with his exceptionally rich combat experience and refined fighting techniques.

Eventually, almost every martial practitioner from the Dongling Region had been teleported out. Only Ling Feng and Yue Huaqing had yet to appear.

Given Ling Feng's strength, it wasn't surprising that he managed to clear all the levels. Yue Huaqing's continued absence, however, left everyone baffled.

Meanwhile, inside the Great Desolation Ruins.

Having firmly attached herself to Ling Feng's coattails, Yue Huaqing passed all seven trials without incident and successfully entered the Great Desolation Divine Hall.

"So this is the Great Desolation Divine Hall?"

Ling Feng and Yue Huaqing looked around in every direction.

Before them stood an enormous palace that soared over a hundred meters high. With only the two of them inside, the vast hall felt almost deserted.

At the center of the palace stood a gigantic altar. Upon it was planted an incomparably massive colossal blade that shot straight toward the ceiling before disappearing into the void high above. Even when they looked up, they could not see the end of the blade's tip. It resembled a sword that connected heaven and earth.

"What an enormous sword!"

Yue Huaqing also surveyed the surroundings. As her gaze settled upon the colossal blade, an overwhelming urge to kneel in worship rose within her.

Her knees had already begun to bend, yet she remained completely unaware of it.

"Senior Sister Yue!"

Ling Feng noticed something was wrong. He turned around and gently patted Yue Huaqing's shoulder several times. Only then did she regain her senses. She no longer dared to look directly at the colossal blade.

"So the Divine Hall enshrines this colossal blade. There is a good chance this sword is an actual weapon."

Ling Feng narrowed his eyes. Ever since seeing the enormous size of Devil Queen Ke Weili's devil pet, he had come to believe that the myriad worlds contained every conceivable wonder. Perhaps, during ancient times, there had truly existed a race of giants capable of wielding such an immense sword.

Not long afterward, several more figures emerged one after another, seemingly stepping directly out of the void.

These newcomers were almost all martial practitioners from the Xijian Region. Ling Feng recognized quite a few faces from Xiao Juanyun's tea gathering.

"It's that kid from the Dongling Region!"

"He actually got here first?"

The geniuses from the Xijian Region all wore expressions as though they had seen a ghost. Being outperformed by someone from the Dongling Region left a bitter taste in their mouths.

Ling Feng paid no attention to their pointless reactions. Instead, he continued examining the surroundings in hopes of discovering something useful.

Soon, more and more figures appeared throughout the palace. Although the passages outside were bewilderingly complex and branched in every direction, everyone who successfully passed the seven layers of trials was ultimately transported into the Great Desolation Divine Hall.

The true value of the Great Desolation Ruins lay within this very hall.

"Hmph. That brat actually cleared all seven levels. He even brought a burden along with him. That means he fought two guardians entirely on his own."

Within the Dragon Sword Heavenly Manor's group, three disciples had passed the trials. At their head stood Han Su.

Han Su narrowed his eyes as he studied Ling Feng. A cold light flickered in his eyes while a sinister smile slowly spread across his face.

"That only makes things more interesting."

"Brother Ling, I knew someone of your ability would reach the Divine Hall. What I didn't expect was that you'd bring someone else along as well."

Xiao Juanyun walked straight over to Ling Feng and glanced at Yue Huaqing.

With Yue Huaqing's strength, she should have been eliminated by the third level. The only reasonable explanation was that Ling Feng had forcibly brought her all the way here.

When facing the guardians of the seventh level, even Xiao Juanyun himself had needed to expend considerable effort. Facing two guardians simultaneously was far more difficult than simply doubling the challenge.

Their coordination allowed them to unleash well over three times their normal combat strength.

On the other side, Luo Hanzhou also strode over to Ling Feng. Considering Luo Hanzhou's strength, failing the trials would have been the real surprise.

Roughly a quarter of an hour later, no additional martial practitioners entered the Divine Hall.

In the end, only around a dozen martial practitioners had made it this far. Simply qualifying to enter Sunset Ancient City already meant standing among the greatest geniuses from every region. Even within that elite group, however, the elimination rate still exceeded ninety percent.

The difficulty of these seven levels was obvious.

"So this is the Great Desolation Divine Hall?"

"Why is there nothing here? Wasn't there supposed to be the inheritance of a peerless Sword Saint?"

"The records were complete nonsense. Along the way, every so-called treasure vault turned out to be nothing more than abandoned junk."

"Damn it, don't remind me! I actually found a celestial artifact, but it had already shattered into seventeen or eighteen pieces. What use is that?"

As many of the martial practitioners voiced their confusion and frustration, a heart-stirring aura suddenly swept through the entire grand hall.

Immediately afterward, a solitary and proud figure slowly condensed in midair. An overwhelming pressure radiated from that figure, carrying the majesty of one who ruled over all beneath the heavens and could not be challenged.

Even Ling Feng found it difficult to breathe. The oppressive force felt exactly like an insignificant ant standing before a divine dragon soaring through the highest heavens. Faced with such an existence, not even the slightest thought of resistance could arise.
