Chapter 1732 - 2034: Besieging Wei to Rescue Zhao (3)
"Everyone, this is the information on the Netherworld Snake headquarters. Take a look first."
In the office of the Dragon Tiger Hall, Ling Chen distributed a stack of materials to everyone.
Tong Zhentian opened the material, and after reading through its contents, he said, "I know you want to deal with the Netherworld Snake, but isn’t it a bit rash to go to war so suddenly?"
"Elder Tong, I never intended to engage the Netherworld Snake head-on. I just want to create an illusion, making them think we’re about to besiege them. I have carefully studied the information Elder Ren gave me; there are about sixty people at the Netherworld Snake headquarters, not many, but all are elite. Moreover, their headquarters is strategically located, easy to defend and hard to attack. Even if we deploy hundreds of people at once, we might not breach their defenses. But as I’ve said, our goal is to create an illusion. The secret base of the Netherworld Snake in Jin Hai City is the closest to their headquarters. Once something happens at their headquarters, they will definitely send reinforcements from the secret base in Jin Hai City."
Pausing here, Ling Chen spread out a map on the table and said, "This is the map of the Netherworld Snake headquarters, with the surrounding environment detailed on it. I need someone to lead a team here to put pressure on the Netherworld Snake people and prompt them to dispatch reinforcements as soon as possible. Once the reinforcements from Jin Hai City are on their way, I will take action immediately, aiming to breach the secret base in the shortest time possible. Regardless of whether we’re successful or not, the team besieging the headquarters must retreat immediately to avoid being caught between the reinforcements of the Netherworld Snake."
"I’ll go," Tong Zhentian answered, "After all, it’s a siege without an attack. There won’t be much damage."
Ling Chen nodded and said, "Sir Chen, you and big brother and I will attack the secret base, and everyone else will go to the Netherworld Snake headquarters with Elder Tong."
"No problem," Chen Junfeng replied.
"There’s no time to lose. Everyone, prepare for departure immediately, leaving only three elders at Dragon Tiger Hall. With them holding the fort, I believe no one will dare to cause trouble."
After arranging everything, Ling Chen let out a slow breath. This mission was extraordinary, and they didn’t have ample time to prepare. Although a plan was in place, no one could guarantee that nothing unexpected would happen along the way. He hoped Tong Zhentian would lead the team, given his rich experience, which would allow him to quickly adapt to sudden incidents.
After resting one night at Dragon Tiger Hall, Tong Zhentian set off with the team early the next morning. Since they needed to create a threat and pressure on the Netherworld Snake, numerical superiority was necessary. Therefore, Tong Zhentian brought over a hundred elite disciples from the Dragon Tiger Hall. In addition, a group of experts would assist him.
Before departure, Ling Chen made a special trip to the base to get the latest intel from Hu Fei.
"I sent someone to Yangcheng yesterday, but we haven’t found Jiang Yue’e yet. However, she hasn’t been seen in Jin Hai City either. If she took a car, it takes about thirteen hours to drive from Yangcheng to Jin Hai City, so she should have arrived by now."
Ling Chen nodded slightly, "So, she might still be in Yangcheng." He paused and then asked, "And in Jin Hai City? Any new developments?"
"Not for the moment. If you get to Jin Hai City, you might want to find someone who knows a lot about the situation."
"Who?"
"Yang He," Hu Fei said, "I found his current location. He’s staying at a five-star hotel in Jin Hai City, booked for a week."
"Okay, I’ll meet him once I’m there."
...
At that moment, at the toll station of the highway section in Jin Hai City, an inconspicuous sedan slowly drove past, entering the Jin Hai City area. The sedan sped along the wide road, and after dozens of minutes, finally entered the downtown area.
Jin Hai City is a coastal city with many ports and ships. The sedan drove all the way to a port before coming to a gradual stop. Then the car door opened, and a woman got out from the driver’s seat. The woman wore sunglasses and a baseball cap, seemingly deliberate in covering her face. However, if Ling Chen were here, he would surely recognize her as Nanrong Wanqing’s mother, Jiang Yue’e.
After getting out of the car, Jiang Yue’e looked around, carefully noting the surveillance cameras around, then fetched a large backpack from the car and headed straight for the port.
She moved very cautiously, and her route just happened to avoid the range of the camera. Once she successfully entered the port, she walked directly towards a few yachts moored by the gangway. Arriving at one of the yachts, she glanced around, and seeing no one paying attention, quickly boarded it and entered the cabin.
The cabin’s door locks were fingerprint recognition plus a six-digit password, and no one but herself could enter. This yacht was something she had prepared for herself many years ago, primarily for escape. It not only stored enough food and water but also a lot of confidential information and valuable items.
Though the yacht had been docked at the port without care, she wasn’t worried about it being stolen or discovered by others. Inside the yacht, there were several kilograms of explosives capable of blowing the yacht to pieces. Should anyone start the yacht or enter the wrong password when opening the door, the explosives would detonate. Although it might cause some losses, at least her secrets would remain safe.
With the six-digit password entered and fingerprint recognition completed, the cabin door opened immediately.
Opening the door revealed a bedroom. Though not large, everything necessary for living was there, compact but complete.
Jiang Yue’e set down the backpack in her hand, then lifted the mattress to reveal a safe underneath. This safe lacked modern password devices; it only had one strangely shaped keyhole, resembling an ’S’ shape.
Jiang Yue’e took a key from her pocket, slowly inserted it into the keyhole, gently turned it, and with a ’click,’ the safe immediately popped open.
Inside the safe was something wrapped in black cloth. Jiang Yue’e examined it for a moment, then took out a delicate combination lockbox from her backpack. Carefully, she transferred the black cloth bundle from the safe to the lockbox. Her actions were so slow and deliberate, not even daring to breathe heavily until the bundle was safely placed inside the lockbox, her expression finally relaxed.
After securing the lockbox, Jiang Yue’e sat on the bed, took a sip of mineral water, and then took out her mobile phone, dialing a number.
"I’ve prepared everything you wanted."
"I’ll be waiting at the usual place," a deep voice from the other end replied.
"No, let’s change the location, and you must bring my daughter with you."
"Okay, you arrange the place, and I’ll be there on time."
