The heir had some serious nerve.

Reports indicated that if the league failed to condemn Miami’s actions, the Knicks would boycott their upcoming games.

For any other team, this would be unheard of. But for James Dolan, it was something he was fully capable of doing.

After lying low for a night, Pat Riley finally came forward to respond. He stressed that the level of physical contact is higher in the playoffs, that it’s normal, and that everyone needs to adapt.

He also stated that he would keep his promise and would not be making a comeback.

When asked to comment on Su Xi’s remarks, he replied, "Why should I care what he thinks? He can come talk to me when he’s achieved what I have. Does he think he’s Michael Jordan?"

It was an equally sharp retort.

But by then, his words carried no weight, because the internet was already in an uproar.

Kobe Bryant was the first NBA player to publicly support the Knicks and Su Xi. He said, "I watched the game. All I can say is, Miami got what they wanted.
