The Boys: Viltrumite Evolution Panel

Chapter 26 One Hand-Blade, One Translucent

After finishing his upgrade, Lucas flew straight back to his Midtown apartment.

He cooked himself a bowl of instant noodles and added two eggs.

It was pure luxury.

Halfway through the meal, it finally hit him.

"That’s not right. I’m so rich now, why the hell am I still eating instant noodles!"

"I want to eat steak!"

"A big serving!"

Lucas flew straight out.

He used his unobstructed X-ray vision to scan the buildings across the entire neighborhood.

His range was about a dozen kilometers.

He saw a discreet party taking place in a high-end private bar.

In the apartment next door, a young couple drew the curtains and started going "oh, oh, oh, oh, oh..."

At a local university, a professor in a suit and tie was hugging a tree hollow, engaged in some serious performance art.

Lucas silently turned off his unobstructed X-ray vision.

He felt like he was going to get styes in his eyes.

However, just as he was looking for a high-end steakhouse, he suddenly spotted some familiar faces.

He immediately activated his Super Hearing.

He caught a distinct accent.

"...Stay still, you fucker. Move again, and I’ll break your toes off one by one."

"Go ahead, break them! Can you even do it? Do you think my skin is the same as you normal people?"

Butcher! Translucent!

Translucent had actually been captured by Butcher; the plot hadn’t changed one bit.

And it looked like Butcher had absolutely no way to deal with Translucent right now.

Use the anal bomb, brother!

Lucas decided to give them a hand.

The Boys had several key characters, which meant he could farm a ton of experience points.

An abandoned warehouse.

It used to be a seafood processing plant, rented by Butcher to kill Translucent.

A chair sat in the middle of the warehouse.

Fragments of chains were scattered on the floor.

Inside the cage, Translucent was howling as he was being electrocuted, but those methods couldn’t inflict any effective damage on him.

After Mothers Milk finished electrocuting him, Butcher started hitting him in the head with a crowbar.

He hit him until the head of the crowbar bent, and his own web of his thumb split and bled.

"Fuck!"

Butcher cursed loudly.

Looking at this scene, someone unaware might think it was a gang operation.

Buy one stick, get one free.

Log in and get 200 pulls.

Frenchie was squatting next to a toolbox with half a cigarette in his mouth, looking for a suitable tool.

Hughie couldn’t help at all and was standing to the side like a bystander.

While The Boys were busy, the warehouse’s iron door was opened.

The way it was opened was quite unique.

The person simply ripped the entire door off its frame and gently leaned it against the wall.

It was as casual as setting down a piece of scrap cardboard.

The four of them turned their heads simultaneously.

"Fuck, Butcher! You said this place was safe and that no Supe could possibly come here!"

Mothers Milk cursed, but he didn’t stop his actions.

He pulled his gun and fired—American-style iaido.

The bullets pattered against Lucas’s chest, but he didn’t feel a thing.

This stuff couldn’t even break his Bio-field.

Let alone his physical defense, which was on a completely different level than his Bio-field.

"Billy boy! The local gangs are very impolite!"

Lucas picked his ear while waiting for Mothers Milk to run out of bullets.

He lightly patted his clothes.

Then, he clapped his hands together with a "pop."

The sound wave and air current generated by the force blew all four of them away.

He used very little force, very, very little, ensuring he wouldn’t kill the four of them.

"Shit! What kind of power is this?"

Mothers Milk was the first to crawl up from the ground.

But before he could run, Lucas grabbed him by the neck and lifted him into the air.

"Oi!"

Butcher stood up and called out to Lucas, convinced that the other party had no malicious intent.

If he really wanted to kill them, the warehouse would already be a river of blood.

"Look, I was just joking with you, why are you taking it so seriously!"

Lucas gently placed Mothers Milk on the ground and even helped dust off his shoulders.

Mothers Milk was so scared he backed away a dozen steps.

"How did you find this place?" Butcher asked, holding the crowbar for peace of mind.

"Super Hearing. You guys were making quite a racket."

Lucas looked around and saw Translucent in the corner.

After gaining his X-ray vision, he could see Translucent’s internal organs.

"Translucent, stop hiding. I can see you."

"Quick, save me! Guardian!!"

Translucent thought Lucas had come to save him.

He immediately became visible.

He thought he was safe.

"I have to say, you’re the most pathetic member of The Seven. Even Starlight, who just joined, isn’t as useless as you."

"Getting caught so easily by a few normal people."

"Tell me, aren’t you just slapping us Supes in the face?"

Lucas squatted down and began a wave of mockery at Translucent.

The smile on Translucent’s face froze.

He finally realized that Guardian wasn’t here to save him at all.

"Guardian... what do you mean?"

"What do I mean?" Lucas laughed.

"You stole Vought’s internal footage, ruined Homelander’s press conference, and now the whole internet is calling you a traitor."

"And you actually had the nerve to run?"

"Homelander has already issued a bounty on your head. There’s a multi-million dollar reward for you on the black market now."

"Those black-market labs are even willing to pay a high price for your body to use in experiments."

Translucent’s expression turned to terror.

But quickly.

He regained his arrogant demeanor from before.

"You can’t kill me."

"Oh?"

"How many methods have these losers tried? Crowbars, chainsaws, bullets, electric shocks—they haven’t even scratched a single hair on me."

Translucent patted his own chest, very confident.

"My defense is not something a loser like A-Train can compare to."

"You, Guardian, can fly and fight, and you’re even on par with Homelander."

"But you want to kill me? Go eat shit!"

Translucent even stood up, leaving himself completely wide open.

He was currently naked, and since he wasn’t invisible, it left everyone else looking stunned.

Hughie offered an untimely comment, "Honestly, I think his isn’t even as big as mine."

Butcher shook his head and grinned.

"Boy! You’re living in a man’s world!"

"And we love nothing more than dealing with little men..."

Halfway through his sentence, Mothers Milk and Frenchie both looked over with strange expressions.

"...You guys know that’s not what I meant!"

Butcher quickly explained.

Translucent kept on being arrogant.

"Forget about you, even Homelander from The Seven might not be able to hurt me."

"That little bit of strength you have..."

"Alright, alright, why are you talking so much?"

Lucas interrupted him.

"I understand everything you just said. You think I can’t cut through you?"

"It’s a fact, kid! Go back and drink your Mothers Milk!"

Mothers Milk: "..."

Translucent was being incredibly arrogant, even sticking his neck out.

"Come on, chop right here. Hit it hard. Don’t say I didn’t give you a chance."

Lucas looked at his extended neck and grinned.

Then he stood up and raised his right hand.

His five fingers were pressed together, palm edge facing outward.

The Viltrumite Hand-Blade.

When Translucent saw this move, he laughed even louder.

"Are you serious? Do you think you’re Superman!"

Butcher frowned from the side.

Everyone was looking at Lucas’s right hand.

Did Guardian have some ability they didn’t know about?

The next second, they witnessed what it meant for brute force to create miracles.

Lucas moved extremely fast.

With just a slight sound.

Translucent’s mouth and neck parted ways.

Before he died, he still had a smile on his face.

Huh?

The warehouse went silent.

Lucas shook his hand, not a single drop of blood on it.

Looking at Translucent’s corpse, the cut was so clean that the instantaneous heat generated by the high-speed friction had cauterized the wound.

"This defense is indeed quite strong."

Lucas nodded, deeply agreeing.

It didn’t even shatter from one hand-blade strike.

If it were a normal person, his palm wind alone could have turned them into mincemeat.

"Uh, did he just one-shot Translucent from The Seven with a hand-blade?" Hughie’s mind went blank.

It was common knowledge that within The Seven, the only one who stood far above his teammates was Homelander.

But in the official data, although Homelander crushed his other teammates, the gap wasn’t that large.

Even chopping vegetables has some resistance!

You cut through Translucent that easily?

A layer of cold sweat broke out on Butcher’s back.

The numbers on the panel started jumping again.

Lucas squatted down, lifted Translucent’s headless corpse with one hand, and slung it over his shoulder.

"I’ll be taking this, bad boys!"

Butcher came to his senses, feeling completely bewildered.

"You’re pinning all the blame on Translucent? That’s why you had to kill him to silence him!"

"That’s on you for not playing fair!"

Billy exhaled a smoke ring, completely lacking the self-awareness of being a terrible teammate.

"I trust you’ll handle everything. After all, the enemy of my enemy is my friend!"

"But what are you going to do now? Go back to claim credit?"

"A Supe as strong as you, actually content to wag your tail and beg for pity like a lapdog in front of Homelander?"
