Chapter 28 Hughie: There are cows!
Starlight choked, sticking her tongue out.
But she still clutched the bottle and chugged.
"Come on, come on, cheers!"
Lucas raised his Pepsi. Since he was already treating his buddy to a meal, he was definitely on her side!
Tomorrow, he’d grab Supersonic and give him a beating.
Make him kneel down and sing "Conquer"!
Lucas stuffed the entire table’s worth of food into his stomach, but he was only half-full.
"Hiccup~"
"How long have you been starving?"
Starlight said with "drunken, hazy eyes."
"I can still eat a little bit more."
Seeing that Starlight was drunk, Lucas felt it was about time to take the girl home.
"Waiter, pack up two more servings of the food I just had; I’m taking them home."
Lucas pulled out a few 100-dollar bills and placed them generously on the table.
The waiter was stunned upon seeing this.
"Si-sir, one is enough. As for the tip, I can’t even provide change for this."
The waiter pulled out the only two 20-dollar bills left in his pocket.
Even gang transactions didn’t use 100-dollar bills.
This guy clearly came from the rich district.
"It’s fine. You fed me well today, it’s your reward!"
Lucas waved his hand dismissively.
Annie January, still "drunken and hazy," also pulled a few bills from her pocket and slapped them on the table.
"That’s right! We’re paying for everyone’s meal tonight!"
Five minutes later.
Lucas was carrying the items in his left hand and holding Starlight with his right.
Just as they were leaving, they bumped into two people.
A man and a woman.
"Oh, what a coincidence, isn’t it?"
Hughie Campbell and Robin.
"Th-Guardian?"
In an instant, Hughie Campbell’s mind flashed back to Lucas’s hand falling like a blade, severing Translucent’s head.
His legs trembled in fear.
"Guardian? You’re Guardian who saved us!!"
Robin, seemingly oblivious, walked over excitedly with her phone.
"Can I take a picture with you? I’m your biggest fan!"
"Look, this is an account a Black kid made for you. I tipped 300 dollars!"
"And also, this is your collaboration T-shirt!"
Robin jumped around on the spot in excitement.
Starlight, in Lucas’s arms, was "drunken and hazy," but the corner of her mouth twitched noticeably.
"Of course you can. You’re in luck, Starlight is here too!"
Lucas shook Starlight.
Starlight wrapped her arms around Lucas’s neck, pretending to be hopelessly drunk.
"Oh, so that’s the kind of relationship you two have!"
Robin said indifferently.
She felt like her idol had been ruined.
"Well, there’s nothing to be done about that. Let’s take a picture next time. Besides, Hughie Campbell and I are buddies!" Lucas pulled out one hand and patted Hughie Campbell on the shoulder.
He revealed a relatively "nuclear-friendly" smile.
I’m taking your future wife away.

"Let’s go."
Lucas supported Annie January and soared into the sky.
Leaving behind an excited Robin, who was patting her boyfriend’s shoulder.
"Hughie Campbell, Hughie Campbell!! Did you see that?"
"That was Guardian!!"
"He’s actually good buddies with you! How come you’ve never told me!"
Hughie Campbell’s blood began to warm up again; he felt as though he had just walked on the edge of life and death.
"Annie January, where is your home?" Lucas flew for a while, then suddenly shook Starlight in his arms.
Starlight seemed to be asleep and didn’t say a word.
"Hmm, then how about sleeping at my place first? My place is quite big!"
Starlight’s heartbeat frequency fluctuated.
"I’ll take that as a yes."
Lucas talked to himself and brought Starlight back to the Midtown apartment.
Just as they entered the house, before he could put the things down.
Starlight’s two slender, shapely legs wrapped around him.
Lucas put down the food in his hand.
"Mmph..."
Annie January pretended to inadvertently lean her head over, as if it were just a natural drop, and it happened to touch Lucas’s neck.
Then he heard a "pop" sound.
Starlight didn’t have a comprehensive understanding of Guardian’s abilities.
Lucas’s Super Hearing could hear Annie January’s heartbeat.
Annie January’s heartbeat had been steady before, but that action just now caused her heart rate to suddenly spike.
This girl wasn’t just sober; she had kissed him on purpose.
Combining these signs, Lucas reached an accurate conclusion.
She seems to like me!
"Starlight? Are you okay?"
Lucas shook Starlight, quite vigorously.
Starlight was stuck to him as if she had been welded there.
Not moving an inch!
"Alright, then I guess I have no choice but to hold you while I sleep."
Lucas lay down on the bed.
Starlight immediately let go, but her face remained pressed against his chin.
Lucas wanted to see how much longer she could keep up the act.
"Ahem, finally let go. I’ll go sleep on the couch."
The next second, four limbs locked him down tight again.
Annie January opened her eyes, her face full of resentment.
"When did you find out?"
"I have Super Hearing."
Starlight sat up, her supple, slender legs crossed as she knelt on the bed, staring straight at Lucas.
The next second.
She grabbed Lucas’s clothes and ripped them apart violently.
Lucas immediately took the initiative.
He treated Annie January with the same method.
The next day.
Sunlight shone through the gap in the curtains and fell onto the bed.
Starlight had half her body exposed, her golden hair scattered across the pillow, sleeping very soundly.
Lucas leaned against the headboard, staring at the lightbulb that had been shattered by the electrical surge.
Last night, the entire building had a power outage.

[Evolution Points Gained: +4,670]
Tsk.
Even more than what Homelander contributed. The system never mentioned that I could farm Evolution Points this way.
In that case, he might as well go one, two, three, four, two, two, three, four!
"Mmph..."
Annie January slowly woke up from her slumber.
Supes have great physical fitness; even after a crazy night, they only need to sleep for two or three hours to recover all their energy.
Someone like Lucas doesn’t even need to sleep.
It’s just that he still retains his habits from when he was a human.
Back in the day, when I was a human in the East...
"Sorry, I’ll pay for your electricity bill." Annie January blurted out, leaving Lucas speechless.
"That’s not necessary. Just let Vought fill up the electricity bill, you can go as crazy as you want."
Annie January’s delicate body obediently pressed against him.
The thin sheet slid off her exquisite body, and Lucas clicked his tongue in admiration.
Starlight was much more well-endowed than he had imagined.
"I haven’t asked yet, do you have a girlfriend?"
"??" Lucas looked down, meeting those expectant eyes.
"Isn’t it a bit late to ask that now? Your actions yesterday didn’t look like you had considered the consequences."
"So you really have a girlfriend?"
Annie January’s cheeks turned red instantly.
Then wouldn’t she be the same as Supersonic?
"That, I don’t."
Lucas shook his head.
In his past life, he was so poor he was like a stray dog on the roadside; how could he dare to date easily? Wouldn’t that just be holding someone back?
In this life, it doesn’t matter.
With superpowers, if he’s short on money, he just gets Vought to transfer it to his account.
Plus, the Supes in America are quite open-minded. As long as they aren’t "public buses," he’d make sure to take in every decent girl he meets.
Since I’m already a Homelander, can’t I have a few more lovers?
"You wouldn’t..." Annie January’s eyes turned dangerous.
Every member of The Seven is a talent, and each one has different quirks; she only found that out shortly after joining.
The reason Annie January took a liking to Guardian was because Lucas appeared quite normal.
Looking at it this way, it doesn’t seem right!
Is it possible that the one who looks the most normal is actually the most abnormal?
"Don’t worry, I am a pure-hearted man."
Lucas grinned, showing a mouthful of bright white teeth.
That’s right, a man who is very pure-hearted to every woman!
... Annie January and Guardian walked into the Vought conference room together.
Ashley Barrett was so busy she couldn’t even touch the ground.
She had already started diving into her new work.
