Chapter 253 Barry Enters the Speed Force
The defeat of Savitar made everyone at S.T.A.R. Labs think the matter had come to an end, but unexpectedly, after returning home, the sky over Central City suddenly ripped open!
The dark purple thunderstorm, like hundreds of millions of roaring dragons, poured from the void onto the Earth. The city’s power grid crackled and popped under the magnetic field interference, streetlights exploded one by one, and even the gravel on the ground and abandoned cars slowly floated into the air as if defying gravity.
The Speed Force had rioted.
Lucas knew the purpose of the Speed Force. Savitar was originally just a node in the time loop, and now that this node had been forcibly removed by Savitar, the cage that originally imprisoned Zoom had lost its suppressor.
The entire Speed Force dimension began to fall into a chain reaction of self-disintegration.
If a replacement could not be found in a short time to voluntarily shoulder that heavy responsibility, the Speed Force storm would tear Central City, along with the timeline, into pieces.
In the void, the Speed Force slowly condensed, turning into a warm portal.
Nora walked out from it, appearing in the image of Barry Allen’s mother.
Her eyes were loving, yet carried the majesty of a deity as she quietly gazed at Barry Allen.
"Barry Allen... This is the price you must bear. You created Flashpoint, bringing upon yourself an enemy like Savitar, and now, this cage cannot be without a keeper. Your race must come to a temporary end."
"Here is your destination now."
Barry Allen’s whole body trembled, and his eye sockets instantly turned red.
He instinctively took half a step back and turned to look at Iris beside him. The dark-skinned girl’s face was full of disbelief.
"No... Barry Allen! It cannot be you!" Iris rushed forward like a madwoman, tightly grabbing Barry Allen’s leather suit, "We just defeated Savitar... We haven’t even had a chance to hold a formal wedding!"
"Dad is still waiting for us at home, Cisco and Caitlin are both there... You can’t just leave like this!"
Barry Allen raised his trembling hand and gently stroked her cheek. "I’m sorry, Iris... If I don’t go, the entire city will be swallowed by the Speed Force. This is the bitter fruit I planted myself, and I must bear it."
"But..."
Cisco at the side had red eyes and fiercely punched the instrument box beside him. "Is there really nothing we can do? We clearly just saved the World!"
Wally West, Jesse Quick, and the older generation Flash, Jay Garrick, all lowered their heads, the atmosphere heavy to the extreme.
The mission of a Speedster could not be resisted.
Once the rules of the Speed Force were violated, punishment had to be faced.
Lucas had his hands in his trouser pockets, leaning against a metal pillar not far away, watching this life-and-Death parting with a calm expression.
For him, this was a destined causal closed loop in the three-dimensional timeline.
If Barry Allen did not go through this baptism of the Speed Force, his inner speed would never be able to break through.
In the original show, after Barry Allen came out of the Speed Force prison, his speed reached a new high, and he could even enter lightning time, reaching a speed infinitely close to the speed of light.
And then continue to get wrecked.
However, Lucas couldn’t remain indifferent. After all, his persona on this Earth was that of a warm-hearted superhero!
"The atmosphere doesn’t have to be this bad." Lucas glanced at Barry Allen. "Flash, serving your sentence is your responsibility. Because of your own selfishness, the lives of an entire Universe perished entirely; you have to own up to it! However... your mother’s ending cannot be changed, but your father is different. His Death is not a fixed point in time!"
"So, I can fulfill my original promise."
Barry Allen wiped away his tears, somewhat dazed. "Wh... What do you mean?"
Lucas snapped his fingers.
Snap!
Countless photons that had long since dissipated reversed and converged out of thin air. Space rippled like water waves. On the right side of the Speed Force portal, a middle-aged man wearing a simple trench coat and with slightly graying temples rapidly solidified from illusory to a physical body of flesh and blood!
"Uh... Where is this?"
The man rubbed his somewhat throbbing temples, his eyes gradually returning from confusion to clarity. When he saw the youth in a red combat suit before him, his whole body shook violently. "Barry Allen?!"
That was Henry Allen!
Barry Allen’s biological father, who had his heart cruelly crushed and killed by Zoom right in front of Barry Allen.
"Dad... Dad?"
Barry Allen was struck as if by lightning, his pupils dilating in an instant!
He even suspected whether he was having hallucinations. His steps stumbled forward as he reached out with trembling hands to touch Henry’s shoulder.
That warm body temperature and beating heartbeat were extremely real touches... This was a living person!
"Oh God... Barry Allen! My child!" Henry grabbed the lunging Barry Allen in a tight embrace, and the father and son hugged each other tightly, tears gushing out uncontrollably.
Cisco, Iris, and Joe West were dumbfounded on the spot.
"De... Dead come back to life!" Cisco gasped. "A single snap... directly dragging people who died in the past back from the timeline by force! This is completely beyond the scope of what science can explain. Didn’t they say the result of Death cannot be changed?"
Nora pretended not to see it.
Lucas’s actions had already reversed life and Death. This was a rule-breaking operation that was not allowed by this World.
But the other party’s authority had long exceeded the scope that this World could accommodate.
It peered at the other party along the river of time. In the infinite crises of the future, Lucas’s existence was crucial, and even... only his existence in the future would be the true reality.

The current World was no different from Flashpoint, and would sooner or later be reset.

Hearing the crisp system prompt in his mind, Lucas’s expression remained unchanged, only watching the emotionally agitated Allen father and son.
"Alright, Barry Allen." Lucas spoke, interrupting the father-son reunion. "You’ll have plenty of time to reunite in the future. With him outside guarding this home for you and taking care of Iris and your friends, you can peaceably take a trip into the Speed Force."
Barry Allen slowly let go of his father, took a deep breath, turned around, and nodded solemnly toward Lucas.
From then on, Barry Allen 100% regarded Lucas as a person he could trust.
If there were a Justice League in the future, Lucas would definitely sit in the main seat.
"Go, don’t let the Speed Force wait too long." Lucas waved his hand.
Barry Allen wiped the tear stains off his face, shared a final embrace with his father and Iris, and then, guided by his mother’s phantom, stepped into the Speed Force vortex.
Accompanied by the slow closing of the portal, the thunderstorm in the sky receded like a tide.
Iris linked arms with old Henry, tears still lingering at the corners of her eyes. "Lucas... Can Barry Allen really return safely from inside?"
"That will depend on Cisco. Our scientist’s brain is very smart; before long, he’ll figure out a way to bring Barry Allen back safely, right!"
Cisco was somewhat puzzled. "Lucas, since you can bring people back with a single snap, why wouldn’t you dare to have a fight with the Speed Force? If you blast it apart, you can definitely bring Barry Allen back!"
Lucas shook his finger.
"The rules aren’t like that. The Speed Force is a fundamental force; scrapping it is very easy, but finding another qualified workhorse to maintain the operation of this Universe is quite difficult! Everything in your Universe still belongs to the barbaric era!"
