Chapter 105 Soldier Boy: Your knees are missing pads, aren’t they!

"It’s settled." Lucas crossed his legs and made the decision unilaterally.

Vought was no longer Edgar’s Vought, nor was it the shareholders’ Vought; it was the Guardian’s Vought.

If he wanted to start a new company and set up his own shop, those old-timers could build him a skyscraper overnight. Being a second late would be an act of disrespect to God.

"Let Soldier Boy join The Seven; he’ll fill the vacancy left by The Deep. If The Seven doesn’t have seven members, what kind of The Seven is it anyway!"

"For public relations, just say he was controlled by the Russians... and then found his way back. Anyway, America is used to throwing mud at the Russians; a little more won’t hurt."

Edgar: "..." "The board of directors won’t agree to this."

Lucas stood up. "You actually reminded me! From now on, there will be no more board of directors. Those old-timers should retire. Keep it classy, and know your place!"

Edgar hesitated slightly. "Doing this... won’t it hurt them too much?"

"Hurt them? Screw that!" Lucas’s expression remained indifferent. "If I give them face, I call them a board of directors. If I don’t, I’ll bury them in the dirt, get it? I have plenty of ways to deal with them!"

Edgar crossed his hands, considering whether he should just step down. Vought’s ship definitely wouldn’t sink. After all, as long as Lucas was alive, and those old money folks were alive, Vought would remain the most solid foundation. And his own way of thinking couldn’t keep up with the young people anymore.

"Fine, but don’t dump all the dirty water on me. Let Homelander take the blame," Edgar said.

Lucas nodded. "That works too, it doesn’t matter."

"Are you doing this to get revenge on Stormfront?" Edgar asked at the end.

"Heh!" "Revenge?" "I’m just playing around. Who would take a mama-san seriously when you can kill her with a single finger? Who would keep an ant like that in mind?"

"Alright then." Edgar had nothing left to say. He didn’t know what methods Lucas had used to conquer the old money families. But the current Lucas completely crushed Stormfront in terms of both power and connections... No, Stormfront was at best a mosquito. Using a nuclear weapon to hit a mosquito. It was indeed a bit ridiculous.

...

The return of Soldier Boy became the focus of all America.

Ashley began to exert her influence. She personally oversaw the PR, portraying the original hero as a king returning across eras, stirring up a massive buzz.

The veteran’s face, full of weariness and hormones, was plastered on every billboard in New York overnight. This is the power of money! Countless people starved for love went crazy over him.

The real show hadn’t even started yet. The first meeting between Soldier Boy and The Seven would be the real beginning of the show.

In the conference room, Soldier Boy sat down with a bold, swaggering air. Stormfront’s hand holding the coffee was trembling.

"Ben... Benjamin?" "Hmm, Clara."

Soldier Boy pretended not to care and responded calmly. "Long time no see. It’s been decades. You’ve been living... quite comfortably. Aren’t you going to introduce your new lover?"

The perspective shifted to Homelander. Homelander was annoyed. Very annoyed!

Although he didn’t think much of Stormfront, finding her perspective too narrow and just a jumping, useless waste, at least this woman revolved around him. Now, his simp had actually been attracted away by an old geezer!

So much for the blonde Aryan superwoman! As long as it’s a man, you’ll take anyone, right!

Homelander didn’t know about the past between Stormfront and Soldier Boy; he only heard Stormfront’s chaotic heartbeat, she was incredibly excited.

"I say, Soldier Boy, we’re having a meeting, so maybe focus a bit!" Homelander said with a fake, stiff smile. "If you two want to reminisce, wait until the meeting is over and go chat at the nursing home!"

Soldier Boy slowly turned his head, his gaze landing on his cape. "A nursing home? Kid, when I was an American hero, you were still just a little tadpole!"

"Is your mouth itching for trouble?" "How about you put a pad under your knees and kneel down for me obediently!!"

Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Bang!" Homelander slammed the table, and two beams of red light lit up in his eyes.

"Old man, do you know who I am?" "I am the strongest Supe in all of America. I am not one of you first-generation defective products. I am more perfect, more superior; I am the true hero!!"

Soldier Boy also stood up, the armor on his chest beginning to glow. "The strongest? Kid, your cape is even more pathetic. I could crush you with my pinky finger!"

"When your dad sired you, he should have just smeared you on the wall!" "If I had a son like you, I’d find a place to commit suicide out of shame!"

The two were at loggerheads, and the air was filled with the smell of gunpowder, thick enough to explode. The era of the great huffing had arrived! Soldier Boy and Homelander were huffing at each other.

Maeve and Starlight leaned toward Lucas. If a real fight broke out, Lucas’s side would definitely be safe; he had a powerful Bio-field. Black Noir didn’t dare to move. He didn’t even dare to lift his head.

Stormfront was even more on pins and needles; her usual arrogance had completely vanished.

Satisfying! So damn satisfying! These two idiots didn’t even know each other’s identities, yet they were attacking each other, their little mouths blabbering away as if they had been dipped in honey. Homelander even spat out a few swear words.

In the end, Edgar personally stepped in, forcibly intervening to suppress the conflict.

"You’ve gotten old, Edgar!" Soldier Boy looked at Edgar.

"Yes, I have. Back then, you’d throw a tantrum and call me over a cup of hot cocoa, and your temper is just as explosive as ever." Edgar finished and turned to leave.

Soldier Boy looked at Lucas, who raised an eyebrow. "Brother, I’m definitely on your side on this one. If anyone dared to serve me hot cocoa, I’d beat them up on sight!" Soldier Boy grinned.

...

That afternoon, Homelander found Lucas alone.

"Guardian!!" "Why did you bring that old geezer back to Vought?"

Lucas flatly denied it. "Edgar agreed to it; it has nothing to do with me. Go ask him."

"Bullshit!" Homelander punched through the wall. "In this world, no one but you could bring Soldier Boy back. Do you take me for a fool?"

"Oh ho, John, you’re finally acting like a man!" Lucas nodded. Homelander was growing a backbone.

"Don’t you even consider that he might threaten our position?"

Lucas slowly put down a slice of pizza and washed it down with an iced cola. "Threaten my position? John, when you and Stormfront were pulling those little stunts, did I ever care?"

"No matter who comes, my position is as stable as a mountain!" "Soldier Boy, or Stormfront, who cares?"

Homelander said anxiously, "But I heard that Soldier Boy has acquired some kind of new superpower that can turn Supes back into ordinary people!"

"Exactly, why else would I invite him back? This is a perfect match for the nature of my mission!" Lucas said with a very normal expression.

"You should kill him, or he’ll eventually bite back!" Seeing that being tough didn’t work, Homelander tried to incite him.

Lucas laughed. "When it comes to backstabbing, you’re the expert! Besides, John, I don’t like people telling me what to do, get it?"

Homelander subconsciously took half a step back. He felt like he had always been living in Lucas’s shadow.
