The Boys: Viltrumite Evolution Panel

Chapter 137 The Critical Threshold of Doomsday

"It’s strange, though! A nuke, of all things, actually managed to break through Superman’s defenses."

Lucas smacked his lips, looking quite surprised.

"That monster will destroy the entire city." Wonder Woman looked at him, her eyes filled with a trace of probing.

"Can you... help?"

Lucas turned his head and glanced at her.

He used his super vision to observe the woman calmly.

Inside Wonder Woman Diana flowed a type of energy he couldn’t understand; it didn’t belong to the system he knew—it was warm and carried a hint of divinity.

This was probably what they called divine power.

"Wonder Woman, what is he doing?" Batman asked in a low voice.

"He seems to be... observing me!" Diana frowned slightly. "You are Batman; you should be able to look up his information."

"I can’t find anything."

Batman was as gloomy as ever. "As soon as he appeared, I pulled up all the data on Supes in my microcomputer! But there isn’t a single one in the files. There’s only one possibility: he has the same origin as Superman!"

"Not bad, as expected of Batman!" Lucas clapped his hands.

"Are you also a Kryptonian? What is your relationship with General Zod?" Batman demanded.

Lucas grinned. "As for me, judging by your morality, I’d be considered neither good nor evil—not exactly a hero. But I can reveal that General Zod might not have killed as many people on Earth as I have!"

Batman’s expression suddenly tightened. Could it be...

Lucas laughed heartily. "It seems no one else has been able to tease Batman like I do!"

"I am a Viltrumite. My weakness is my inner ear structure. You could develop high-frequency sound waves to target me, or develop a set of anti-Viltrumite armor!"

Batman logged the information.

Viltrumite? The weakness is the inner ear structure? What is this guy thinking, intentionally telling him his own weakness!

"Alright, now it’s time to get down to business, or your Superman is going to be beaten to death!"

The appearance of Doomsday is inevitably accompanied by the iconic scene of Superman’s death.

As he spoke, a surge of air rose around Lucas, and he instantly turned into a streak of light, tearing through the sky and rushing towards the falling Doomsday.

The posture was sharp and domineering!

This Doomsday was a monster cultivated from General Zod’s corpse and Lex’s blood. Kryptonite could still weaken him, but Lucas intended to go head-to-head.

A real man only attacks and never defends!

He rushed in front of Doomsday, didn’t even look, and threw a punch!

"Bang!!!"

The massive monster, like a cannonball that had been struck, was forced out of Metropolis and flew directly into outer space.

He had held back quite a bit of strength in that punch. He was afraid of shattering Doomsday in one go.

Superman, having just recovered from the nuclear explosion, opened his eyes to see Doomsday whistling past his head as it flew away.

And the next second, Lucas floated in front of him.

Superman instinctively used his super vision. The other person’s body structure... why was it so strange? A six-chambered heart and such a complex inner ear structure, but otherwise not much different from his own.

"Who are you?" Superman asked.

Lucas glanced at him. It was Henry Cavill’s Superman. That made things even steadier.

Henry Cavill’s version was the one that best fit the image of Superman—upright and impeccable—but it was also a version with relatively weak performance feats.

"I am Homelander." Lucas stated his name.

That name didn’t sound like a good guy!

"Of course, you can also call me Guardian or Regent!"

The latter two sounded normal enough, and Superman’s brow relaxed slightly.

"You don’t look like an enemy," Superman said in a deep voice. "My world is facing a major crisis. Are you a friend?"

"I do have a Superman friend, but he grew up in a laboratory, and his personality was deliberately designed, so he doesn’t seem like a normal person. If there’s a chance later, I can introduce you to him."

Lucas chuckled. A meeting between Superman and Homelander would definitely be interesting!

"Alright, I’m going to go take care of Doomsday first. Let’s chat later!"

Lucas started getting down to business. He aimed directly at Doomsday and fired a blast of Omega Beams.

Half of Doomsday’s shoulder was melted away, bone and flesh alike.

Lucas wasn’t in a hurry to kill it.

There are huge differences between one Doomsday and another.

A weak Doomsday, like the one in front of him, could be killed and could not overcome death.

A powerful Doomsday is the ultimate lifeform developed by Kryptonian scientists, capable of adapting to any extreme environment, and even overcoming death directly by dying and resurrecting repeatedly during experiments.

Never mind Superman; even Darkseid has been beaten severely by one.

If he ran into that kind of Doomsday, Lucas would absolutely run away without looking back!

It can’t be killed, its combat power doubles after resurrection, and it can’t be killed by the same method again. Even Saiyans aren’t that insidious.

Doomsday’s melted shoulder quickly began to heal itself. In just a few seconds, a thicker arm grew back, even equipped with sharp spikes.

It roared and smashed towards Lucas fiercely.

Lucas didn’t dodge or evade; he raised his hand and met it with a punch.

The hideous bone spikes were smashed off by Lucas, and Doomsday flew out again.

Lucas looked at his fist; he didn’t feel a thing. With his current planet-level combat power, he was practically in a league of his own in many superhero movies. (Henry Cavill’s Superman has high power settings, but this is written based on performance feats.)

Even if he encountered characters like Galactus or Odin, he could still go toe-to-toe. As long as he didn’t run into the Sentry or various overpowered heroes, he could at least hold his own.

Doomsday became more frenzied the more it fought; every time it took a hit, its body grew and evolved accordingly.

It roared time and time again, charging towards Lucas at an even faster speed.

[Target Detected — Doomsday]

[This target possesses infinite growth characteristics, meeting the collection standards for weapon modules.]

[Current Critical Value: 23%... 47%... 55%...]

[Hint: When the critical value reaches 100%, the target will be excellent material for weapon modules. At that time, its bones, heart, and flesh can be dismantled and stored separately.]

Lucas looked at the rising critical value and understood. So that’s it. Then bring it on!

Lucas punched it again and again, beating Doomsday senseless, but he deliberately didn’t deliver the killing blow. The target couldn’t escape either.

His speed was faster than light and immeasurable; at the very least, anyone without single-universe-level combat power would find it hard to catch him.

Superman watched from the side, somewhat confused. The other person clearly had the ability to kill Doomsday but refused to deliver the final blow—it seemed like he was intentionally raising a monster? That wouldn’t do!

Just as Superman was about to intervene, he saw Lucas turn his head, two red beams lighting up in his eyes, as if in threat.

Hmm... definitely not a good guy!

Not long after, Batman flew over to Superman in his jet, with Wonder Woman clinging to the wing.

"How is it going?" Batman asked.

"See for yourselves." Superman gave a wry smile and pointed towards space.

Batman and Wonder Woman looked in that direction and saw two figures locked in combat in space. The only difference was that Lucas was unilaterally rubbing Doomsday against a meteorite.

"What is he doing?" Batman frowned.

"I don’t know!"

"We should stop them as soon as possible," Wonder Woman said solemnly. "That person is provoking that thing, making it stronger and stronger. If this continues, no one on Earth will be able to stop Doomsday!"

"...I’d like to, but this is no longer a battle I can intervene in!"

If Superman even twitched a finger, Lucas would precisely fire a blast of Omega Beams. Tell me, isn’t that insidious!
