Chapter 109 Both Father and Son Seek to Play with Lucas
"Those words were just made up by you!"
Soldier Boy looked furious. "Don’t think you can just cobble together words from the dictionary to fool me; I’m not some idiot produced by a ’happy education’ system!"
Neither of them was willing to acknowledge the other.
One felt that being the other’s father was a very shameful thing.
The other felt that being the other’s son was worse than acknowledging Guardian as his father.
Despite being connected by blood, these two guys just couldn’t stand each other from the bottom of their hearts.
Watching this newly reunited father and son pair about to come to blows again.
"Enough."
A low voice came from the doorway.
Edgar looked at the smashed-up conference room and the chaotic father and son, rubbing his temples wearily.
Could someone tell him what exactly happened?
Why did Soldier Boy and Homelander start fighting?
Did Homelander serve Soldier Boy a hot drink too?
Stormfront summarized what happened concisely.
"I don’t care if you’re father and son, and I don’t care what old baggage you have between you, get out of here."
"Edgar, you..." Homelander wanted to say something else.
"This building belongs to Guardian now," Edgar interrupted him mercilessly. "If you keep fighting here and bring the building down, be careful or he’ll toss you both into the sun."
The mention of the name Guardian was like a bucket of cold water.
Homelander’s seething rage was instantly extinguished by more than half.
He instinctively looked up, using his X-ray vision to pierce through the ceiling, staring straight up at the floor above.
Then he saw Lucas, who was sitting with his legs crossed, holding a bucket of popcorn, and watching this side with great interest using his own X-ray vision.
Things were getting messy as hell down here.
And you actually have the mood to eat popcorn!
Screw you!
Homelander instantly turned red with rage, smashed through several floors, and charged straight in front of Lucas.
"Guardian! Are you targeting me?"
Lucas shoved a handful of popcorn into his mouth and said slowly, "No, I’m not."
"You are! You definitely are!" Homelander practically roared. "You brought Soldier Boy back, you knew he was my father all along, didn’t you? This is your way of getting revenge on me!"
"Hey, John." Lucas shook his head.
"Your finger is about to poke into my eye. Can you act like an adult and calm down? I only just found out about this father-son relationship between you two."
"You were fighting like it was a blood feud, I didn’t expect that either!"
"Besides, do you even care about that?"
"It’s different!"
Homelander stiffened his neck. "If he really is my father, we should have had a better way of meeting, not like how it was at the beginning, attacking each other the moment we met!"
Lucas looked at his aggrieved expression and almost couldn’t keep a straight face.
"Oh, give it a rest."
"John, even if your beginning had been wonderful, even if it had been a perfect father-son moment, it wouldn’t have taken two and a half minutes before you ruined it yourself."
"The problem is with you. What does that have to do with Soldier Boy? When he joined The Seven, you were the one jumping around the most!"
Homelander was choked speechless.
"Oh my, you were fighting to the death just a moment ago, why are you about to shed little pearls now? You don’t actually want Soldier Boy to acknowledge you as his son, do you!"
"Who cares..." Homelander instinctively turned his head away.
Homelander’s mouth was the hardest part of his entire body.
"Cut the crap!" Lucas looked disdainful. "I advise you to live like a real man! Soldier Boy loves tough guys. The son he wants is a man who stands tall and keeps his word!"
"Not some softie who jumps around. The more you act like this, the more he looks down on you."
Homelander’s expression changed repeatedly.
Lucas couldn’t be bothered to watch him struggle anymore and waved his hand. "Alright, I’ve said what I needed to say! Also, don’t come questioning me about everything in the future!!"
"I never need to explain my actions to you. You can show your rear end to whoever you want, that’s your business!"
"But don’t do it to me, I have no interest in maintaining it for you!"
The show was over.
Lucas flew away, satisfied.
Like an Ultraman who had finished fighting a monster.
Homelander froze in place, slowly turned his head, and looked at Jordan and Cate Dunlap in the room.
The two girls were sitting properly on the sofa, eyes fixed unblinkingly on the TV, where a yellow sponge was talking to Patrick Star.
Patrick Star: "Friend, it seems we have drifted apart!"
SpongeBob: "What do you mean?"
Patrick Star: "We were happy together in the past, but now, we are incompatible! We should go our separate ways. This is life, life!!"
...
The lines on the screen silenced Homelander. "Fuck!!"
He cursed under his breath, turned around, crouched down with his toes pointed inward, and was just about to take off when he suddenly remembered something and slapped his own butt.
He forcefully corrected his pigeon-toed stance.
Cate Dunlap had already been struggling to keep a straight face while watching Patrick Star, but then she heard Homelander slap his butt.
"Smack!"
The two girls’ faces turned liver-colored from holding back their laughter.

Night fell.
Midtown Apartment.
Lucas had just finished showering and put on a bathrobe when the doorbell rang.
Soldier Boy was standing outside the door, wearing his leather jacket.
"Come in." Lucas stepped aside.
Soldier Boy got straight to the point: "You knew all along, right? You knew that blonde softie and I were father and son."
"Yeah." Lucas didn’t hide it.
Telling a couple of lies to Homelander and then flying away coolly meant the other guy couldn’t do anything about it.
But there was no need to put on an act with Soldier Boy.
Soldier Boy said bluntly: "So you brought me back because you wanted to use me to deal with Homelander?"
Lucas shook his head. "I have zero interest in that kind of crap. Whether you two have a loving father-son relationship or kill each other, what does it have to do with me? I’m just watching for the fun of it!"
He floated back to the living room.
Soldier Boy followed him in.
In the living room, two very young girls were curled up on the sofa, laughing and talking.
He happened to know them both.
Both of them were members of The Seven, but unfortunately, they were too young, so he had no interest.
Soldier Boy raised an eyebrow and gave Lucas a rather surprised look.
"Kid, your taste is not bad."
Lucas looked like it was a matter of course. "Our aesthetic standards have always been at this level; they have to be competition-grade white girls. Unfortunately, your aesthetics have seriously degraded."
Soldier Boy wasn’t annoyed and walked straight to the living room’s liquor cabinet, scanning the expensive foreign liquor.
"Whoa, you’ve got quite a lot of good stuff here."
"That was all sent by others."
Lucas sat on the sofa. "I never drink alcohol; I only drink cola."
Lucas picked up a can of ice-cold cola.
"The ice-cold kind you like best."
Lucas’s words were pointed.
"Fuck you!" Soldier Boy raised a middle finger, looking disappointed in him. "A real man has to smoke, drink, and hit on beautiful girls; otherwise, wouldn’t he have lived in vain? What’s the point of drinking that stuff!"
"It’s not like I’m the one throwing a tantrum at people because of warm cola. Why is a little boy pretending to be an old bird?"
