Chapter 188: Getting Ready

Ryan’s POV

Even though the situation with Gwendolyn and Bryce was not completely resolved since the two of them had yet to resurface. It had gone from being a raging inferno to a small manageable flame. Gwendolyn had been cut off and knowing her, she probably did not have any money saved up and Ryan would make sure that no one in whatever industry she tried to get into would take her. He would make sure that even the old rich perverts always looking to have someone several decades younger than them in their arms knew better than to touch her.

As for Bryce, it was only a matter of time before she threw him to the wolves in an effort to save herself. So it was all just a matter of waiting.

Normally, that would have bothered Ryan a great deal, and he would have been climbing the walls, shaking every tree trying to get them to show themselves. But on that particular day, he had something else to focus his mind on, and that something was the fact that Vivian and his grandfather were finally going to meet.

It was a big deal.

Meeting the parents, or grandparent in this case, was always an occasion to be taken seriously. But for them, Ryan felt that the meeting was twice as important. Gwendolyn had tried to ruin Vivian in his grandfather’s eyes. Though it was not her fault, Vivian would now have to work twice as hard to impress the old man.

For Ryan, it was his opportunity to show his grandfather that this time he had chosen right. That Vivian was nothing at all like Gwendolyn.

So it was perfectly normal that Ryan was feeling a bit nervous.

Returning from his study where he had been getting an update on Gwendolyn and Bryce, he walked into the bedroom and found Vivian in just her bra and panties. Her clothes all over the bed as she stared down at them. Normally, the sight of Vivian like that would have led to activities that would most definitely make them late. But since they could not afford to be tardy, Ryan gave his stirring dick a warning glare and then he moved forward.

"Need any help?"

"How about this dress? I think that it would do particularly well for the occasion." Ryan said as he held up a simple blue dress putting it up against Vivian’s front, he tilted his head to the side and then decided against it. Throwing the dress on the bed, he grabbed yet another one. This one was green, but again it just wasn’t right.

Going for a skirt and a blouse, he tried the same thing, but it did not feel right. He needed an outfit that would tell his grandfather that Vivian was trustworthy. That she was everything that Ryan had ever needed in a woman and then some.

Why was nothing working?!

When he made to go for yet another outfit, Vivian grabbed his wrist. Ryan stopped and turned to her.

"We still have not picked anything for you to wear yet. We have to choose something that will make grandfather like you," Smiling softly at him, Vivian shook her head. "Watching you panic has actually helped me decide on the perfect outfit," Ryan’s eyes lit up. "Really? What are you going to wear?" Vivian shrugged. "Just a simple shirt and jeans,"

Ryan was so shocked that he felt it was a miracle he had not passed out.

"What do you mean you are going to wear just a simple shirt and jeans. Do you not know how important this meeting is?"

It was official. Vivian wanted to kill him. A shirt and jeans to meet Langston Terrell. Had she truly forgotten how important this was? Was she deliberately trying to sabotage it all? Gwendolyn had tried to annihilate her character. They needed to pull out all of the stops in order to impress his grandfather.

"Vivian, darling please, you look gorgeous in whatever you wear. But right now you really need to wear something that will wow my grandfather so that he likes you," Instead of grasping just how serious the situation was, Vivian smiled softly at him and proceeded to pick out a pair of jeans and a blue shirt from the pile of clothing on the bed.

"This is it. This is my outfit," She really wanted to end him.

"You don’t get it do you? It does not matter what I wear Ryan. Your grandfather is going to dislike me, at least a little bit," She might as well have stabbed him through the heart.

"Why would you say such a horrible thing? You are awesome Vivian. Of course he’s going to like you,"

"With time yes I have no doubt about that. But for now let’s not put too much pressure on the old man," Sitting on the foot of the bed Vivian began putting on the jeans. Once her feet were in she looked up at Ryan and continued talking. "You have to remember that he has just found out everything about Gwendolyn. So most likely your grandfather is on high alert. He trusts you but he still worries. So I believe that the old man will be watching me like a hawk to make sure that I am worthy of you,"

"You are all that he has left and he’s going to protect you with everything that he has," Oh, when she put it like that it made a whole lot of sense, but that did not mean that Ryan had to like it though.

"I hate this," He told her, his voice soft and Vivian nodded her agreement.

"So do I. But the good news is, seeing that your grandfather raised a splendid man like you. He should be able to tell soon enough that I do not have any bad intentions towards you. Now come on. Let me finish getting dressed so that your grandfather can start being suspicious of me sooner,"
