Chapter 215: Watcher
Bryce’s POV
Ryan Terrell had people all over the city who were looking for him, Bryce knew this. It should have been a hindrance to their plan. His plan really, to kill Vivian Rose. But it was not. The billionaire had made a mistake in sending the majority of his people out there to look for Bryce and Gwendolyn.
He had unintentionally left himself and Vivian unguarded. Which meant that it was easier for Bryce to stick around and watch them without being spotted.
Instead of including other people, he had insisted on doing the surveillance work himself. His naïve Gwendolyn had actually wanted to hire people to do that,( something that would have added an unnecessary number of people to the situation). He had managed to pull her away from that problematic idea by pointing out something vital to their plan. That being that sticking close was the only way he could be near by to seize the opportunity to kill her, should it arise.
Not only that, less people knowing what they were up to meant the chances of word getting out was low. With how easy it was to keep an eye on them, it should have been easy to kill Vivian. But unfortunately that was not the case. The woman was just never alone.
It was infuriating.
Sometimes she was with that annoying Amy. Seeing the other woman irritated Bryce a great deal. Had Vivian tossed her aside when he had commanded her to, Bryce would not have had to keep looking at two ugly women. But thanks to her disobeying him when they had still been dating, Amy was still hanging around.
When she was not with her best friend, she was hanging out with her co-workers. But for the most part, she was almost always with the guy that she had abandoned Bryce for. Wherever she was, Ryan Terrell just always seemed to pop up. The man’s near constant presence was complicating something that should have been very easy. Despite being heavier than the women that Bryce actually liked having sex with, at the end of the day Vivian Rose was still just a woman.
She was all soft skin and easily breakable bones. Attacking and killing her should have been as easy as anything. But if he were to go after her with Ryan Terrell there, Bryce did not like his chances. There was something about the way that the other man held himself that made Bryce wary.
Ryan Terrell was dangerous.
If he was going to take out Vivian Rose then he had to do it at a time when Ryan Terrell was not there. But that was proving close to impossible. Bryce was currently parked a few blocks from the billionaire’s penthouse. It was not a great spot but it was as close as he was willing to get. If he moved in any further, he worried that the building security would notice him, or that one of the multiple cameras around the building would flag him.
Chewing on a lettuce wrap, he thought on his situation. As much as it would be great to grab Vivian by the neck and squeeze the life out of her, it was proving to be too much of a hassle. Would Gwendolyn really be too upset if he went with his original method and just ran his ex over? Maybe he would even do the beautiful woman of favor and take out Ryan Terrell as well. Finishing off the wrap, he wiped his fingers and gripped the steering wheel tight. Picking up his binoculars, he trained them on the two figures that he could see leaving the building on foot and sure enough it was Vivian and Ryan Terrell.
They were headed in the direction of a nearby organic store. Just watching them walk hand in hand, had Bryce feeling unbelievably angry.
Come on, there was just no way that what they had was the real deal.
He knew Piggy, she was definitely faking it. He had never seen the woman smile so much in the entire time that they had been together. Piggy was more the type to sigh and look sad all the time. So the happiness that she was directing towards Ryan Terrell was most definitely fake. Switching his attention to the billionaire, Bryce came to the conclusion that the man was also acting. He was staring at Piggy like she was the most beautiful woman that he had ever seen.
There was no way that the man actually thought that. Bryce had seen Ryan Terrell’s past women. In fact, he’d had sex with Ryan’s ex that very morning. There was no way a man could go from the likes of Gwendolyn Stuart the fourth to Vivian Rose and feel like he’d gotten an upgrade. There had to be something else going on in there. Bryce glared at the pair until they disappeared from view.
For a few seconds, he thought about getting out of the car and following them. But then he remembered the cameras and the fact that he was already tempting fate by being so close. So instead of following the clearly fake couple, he started up the car and turned it in the direction of the house that he and Gwendolyn were currently hiding out at. She would not be happy to learn that yet another sunset would come with Vivian Rose still breathing. But there was nothing for it. Bryce was also not happy on the matter, but all that they could do was be patient. If she was truly upset about it, he knew just the thing to cheer her up. Sex always did the trick.
Smiling at the thought of all of the things that they could do to take their minds off the delayed murder. Bryce made a promise to himself. Because she was making him wait for so long, when he finally did get his hands on Vivian Rose. He would make sure that her end was a painful one.
